A tag has been placed on Niem Green, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Promotional editing[edit]

The reason I've deleted the page is that it was fairly promotional in how it was written. Avoid words like "passion" and phrases like "Niem's passion for helping others and spreading his "open eyes" philosophy". This reads like it was written by someone involved with PR, which is not what Wikipedia looks for in an article. If you are a PR/marketing person then you may want to seek help from someone when it comes to writing new articles since it's very, very difficult for most PR/marketing people to write a neutral article because you're so used to writing in a promotional manner.

Other than that, there does seem to be an issue with notability. Green does appear to be successful, but success does not always translate into notability as far as Wikipedia is concerned. You must show where Green has received coverage in independent and reliable sources (WP:RS) like newspapers and the like. The issue with sources like the NYT piece is that it's not actually about Green- he's quoted, but being quoted does not automatically make someone notable. The Reuters article is better, although some would likely argue that it's not really about Green or his company per se, although I'd probably see it as usable since it is heavily mentioned. However the issue is that one source is not enough in this instance to show notability and just doing something won't give notability unless it's covered in reliable sources that are independent of Green. Something like this source is a step in the right direction, but even then that's still just two sources and Wikipedia requires quite a bit to show notability. (Can be anywhere from 3-10 sources, depending on what the article is about.) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:11, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. • This is not meant to be a permanent block. I have noticed that your username appears to be the same as a marketing company (from what I can see) and I'm willing to unblock you if you change your username. However you will need to be aware that paid editing is discouraged, mostly because of the obvious conflict of interest (WP:COI). Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:13, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
