Hello, I'm Sperril. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to UAE Exchange because it appeared to be promotional. UAE Exchange[edit]

I am always pleased to see people contributing to wikipedia and encourage you to continue, however I have reverted some changed you made to the UAE Exchange article as they seem promotional and not in good wikipedia format, there may be changes you feel are legitimate, but please read Wikipedia:PROMO and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest to help you understand good practice.Sargdub (talk) 21:56, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
I have uploaded this profile of the company with nothing but the facts and history of the growth of company, but you have removed it, stating it is in a promotional way, which it surely is not, it is simple history and progress of the company that currently stands at . Kindly give a proper explanation and also if you could exactly point out at what points you felt the edits done by me were promotional way rather than simply removing it completely. For the time being i have reverted the page back to the edits that i had made. Appreciate your feedback. Hope you too as a wikipedian appreciate the time & effort put forth by me in researching on the facts and figures that i mentioned in the UAE Exchange page on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vincent1988a (talkcontribs) 08:32, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One of the wikipedia principles is neutral point of view and you have added a number of phrases that are very promotional, for example you added :-
UAE Exchange has been setting new standards in global remittance industry with diversified product and service offerings supported by the deployment of latest technologies and excellent customer service.
This sounds like marketing speak from the company and does not help any reader understand about the company. They may or may not have excellent customer service, but if you use a phrase like that you would at the very least need an external independant reference to back this up. Please read WP:NPOV to understand the principle and how to write in a neutral point of view. In terms of number of branches I updated that in the existing text. In terms of history you have some useful facts, but rather than making a list replacing current content, try and incorporate them into the existing text, try and avoid promotional items such as awards etc unless they are significantly or noteworthy and have external independent references.Sargdub (talk) 19:18, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

...Thank you for the explanation, this is what i was looking for as i wanted to know what exactly sounds promotional, but uae exchange have won a few awards for customer service, even recently i read it online regarding the TISSE 2012 customer service award they won http://gulftoday.ae/portal/7475d9d0-ddbc-4832-98c2-cb77a06f6882.aspx, so is this good enough to be used as reference, or you are saying that rather its better not to mention such phrases as its sounding to be of promotional element. Thanks again for reply, will appreciate if you have a look at the profile and make edits rather than completely taking it down, as i have worked hard in researching this and getting the references and writing the article, and for one or two lines of promotional element don't remove the complete profile.Vincent1988a (talk) 04:54, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The link you provided is not a good source as it clearly based on a press release and I would say the award is not well know and not particularly notable. However, yes if you feel this is an important award, you should at least add a citation to an external source. It would be better if you add awards that you balance it by also adding criticisms if there are any. In terms of the article, I appreciate its not nice to have it all reversed, but so many of the changes are in a promotional tone its hard to keep any of it. Please read the principles I mention and then try again, perhaps do some small edits first rather.Sargdub (talk) 06:25, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
