Thank you for completing my username change. As you can see, I signed up under my old name in order to keep others from grabbing it. To clear the edit history (beyond what admins and bureaucrats can access, of course) which connects my real life name and the new username through the part where it mentions the page move, would you please delete my page at User:Travislangley? Thank you. Travislangley (talk) 11:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

SUL-related usurpation request
I see that WP now has a page to request SUL-related usurpations. I'm wondering if there are different rules for this? To refresh your memory, I'm trying to usurp User:Whiteknight, although he has about a dozen GFDL-significant edits, including two edits recently (in may). He hasn't responded at all to several requests on his user-talk page, can't receive emails, etc.
I really don't mean to harass you, but this is the last wiki that I need to finish my global account migration. I even managed to get a usurpation on vi.wikipedia and nl.wikipedia since we last talked (and I don't speak any neaderlands or vietnamese). I'm just trying to figure out what the status is with policy and everything. Again, I'm sorry to bother you, and i won't harass you anymore after this. --Whiteknight (talk) (books) 01:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry about bothering me - I understand that enwiki's unwillingness to fulfill requests such as yours at this time is frustrating. Though things are moving in that direction, I don't think we're quite at a stage where that account can be renamed but discussions are ongoing. I have a list of all declined SUL rename requests so they can be actioned once local policy allows it (which I suspect it eventually would). It probably wouldn't be technically possible at the moment anyway as your global account needs to be deleted before you can be renamed here and a bug is preventing the stewards from performing most requests to delete global accounts at the moment. WjBscribe 06:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I actually don't want to be renamed: I also own the global account User:Wknight8111 (it's my bot account on en.wikibooks). All I need is User:Whiteknight to be usurped so I can unify the account. IE: you rename it to "Whiteknight (Usurped)", and then I can log right in to the account with my current global password, autocreating the account. This is how I've been doing conflicted SUL-related renames on en.wb, to help avoid involving the stewards every time somebody needs a rename. Whether that's the best way is open for debate, but it's been working well for me. Anyway, we can talk details later when the policy gets updated. --Whiteknight (talk) (books) 16:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Will. I already answer in here. If possible, please just moved out User:Aday, so I can login using it. And also I request to delete my current Username, or can I just keep it?? :-) Adaywijaya (talk) 16:30, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Your comment
Dear WjBscribe. You gave an interpretation on my talk page which I found offensive when you referred to me as
"digging up errors she made early in her time editing here which she clearly regrets in an apparent attempt to intimidate her". I wonder if you could please keep such private musings off-wiki in future? Many thanks, Mathsci (talk) 05:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Will, a few weeks ago, I emailed the Mediation Committee regarding a particular Mediation Cabal case, and i was told that the Committee was discussing it, and that the chair of the committee would email me regarding the discussion that the committee engaged in. I was just wondering if there was any progress on this at all, after all, while there is no severe rush, I still believe the mediation, or alternate options do need to progress. If you could notify me in some way of this progress, or on what the Committee decided, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks a lot. Steve Crossin(talk)(email) 13:38, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
This is odd - I don't know anything about this and can't seem to find an email about this in the list archives. Did you email us directly or ask someone to forward your email (if so, who). Sorry about this - do send me the email so I can make sure the list has now got it. WjBscribe 13:44, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

SUL
Hi WJBscribe!
I'm Emkaer from Germany and have a wish to you as a bureaucrat: I read about[1] including an identically named account without edits into an Interwiki-Single-User-Login-account. In 2007, I created User:Emkaer to edit from time to time in en.wikipedia also. But there was a login-problem, so I never logged in correctly (my password didn't work), and I never edited as User:Emkaer. I talked about this issue on User talk:Emkaer, and was advised to make a new account. So I did, and now am User:TheUserFormallyKnownAsEmkaer, having contributed since 9 May 2007, mainly to articles related to German-American historians who fled Nazi-Regime.
When it is possible to get an account without edits into your Singe-User-Login-Account, that was not created by yourself (as User:SCPS got on pt.wikisource),[2] it should be possible to get my own account (of which I do not know the password). Would you please help me in a way, that you know better than I: maybe by renaming the account User:Emkaer, so I could proceed in extending my Single-User-Login to en.wikipedia. Or, by creating an new password for User:Emkaer, and mailing it to me using Wikimail. I hope I could write about my concern in English in a way you understand.
Thanks and greetings --Tufkae (talk) 14:17, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Hallo Emkaer.
Single User Login Request
Hi WJBscribe: Can you help me please. The latest edition of the Wikipedia Signpost article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2008-05-26/Single User Login offers an important option for regular Wikipedia editors. I have been an editor since 2002 and have over 54,000 edits to my credit [3] I now wish to have the User name "IZAK" work as my default whereby it will "allow a user to reserve an account on all public Wikimedia wikis simultaneously; that is, nobody can create an account with the same username as you, and you can log onto any wiki without having to explicitly create an account there. etc etc" However, "a user on another project has the same name as you, then only one of you will be able to create a single user login account for the time being (the software will choose based on permissions (i.e. bureaucrat, administrator, etc.) and edit count)." It is indeed the case that there is another user on the Afrikaans Wiki who uses the name "Izak" ("him")-- not "IZAK" ("me") as I do but the software reads them the same -- which creates a conflict. I looked up that other user and found that he has made only TEN edits [4] from 15 November 2005 to 20 July 2007 which is about as close as any user can get to being a near-to-dormant account. I would proceed to requesting a "usurpation" of that account based on Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2008-05-26/Single User Login: "Note that if the other user has no contributions, it may be possible to usurp their account to resolve the conflict; however, check the usurpation policy on the relevant wiki first." -- But I am not sure who to contact here or at the Afrikaans Wiki and I would appreciate your help in resolving this or in guiding me to the right person to deal with this issue, (note, in South Africa, English is one of the official languages). See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help_talk:Unified_login for some discussions, and where I have cc'd this message and asked for more help, see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help_talk:Unified_login#IZAK_requests_about_Afrikaans_.22Izak.22 Thanks for your help in advance. IZAK (talk) 07:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi, just to jump in, WJBscribe is a crat at en.wiki only, where you already have the name you want, so you need a steward at meta or if he is active, the local crat at the Afrikaans Wiki Alias. MBisanztalk 07:39, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
MBisanz is quite right - my ability to rename users doesn't extend beyond this wiki. That said, you are mistaken about the problem - there is also a user called IZAK on the Afrikaans wiki - [5] but as that user has no edits, you should find that the local bureaucrat is willing to rename it so you can have the name. Anti-vandal fighter
I was wondering if you might be willing to explain your support for the name Global sysop for the new gobal funtion of Anti-vandal fighter? As I understand it, sysop is the same as administrator, just another term, no difference in rights. The Anti-vandal fighter role does not have full administrator rights, but only a slect subset of those rights. Using the term Global sysop, appears to me, to be a misstatement of the function. Or am I totally out in left field? The term Gobal Sysop should be reserved for someone who actually has global administrator rights, if or when such a thing is ever introduced. Dbiel(Talk) 20:30, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I actually don't think what we call the right is very significant. The rules for obtaining and using it are far more important. I put my name to all the preference I like best - I do marginally prefer janitor to global sysop I suppose. But global sysop is an informative name as it is the right to block and delete/protect pages across all projects. None of the other names are as self-explanatory. I do think there is a risk of over-obsessing over finding a perfect name rather than developing an understanding of how this right would work if implemented. WjBscribe 09:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I agree with you that it does not make much difference what we call it, as long as the name does not mislead other users. I also agree that developing an understanding of how this right would work is far more important than what we call it. Thanks again for the reply. I maybe simply over concerned about other users assuming that a "Global Sysop" is a "Global Admininstrator" It is a right that could easily be abused if its user implemented in a language that they did not really understand. But that is a separate issue to be dealt with elsewhere. Thanks again. Dbiel(Talk) 18:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

CHU/SUL template
I was wondering whether there was a template that you used to produce the comments like this:
On hold - You will need to ask a steward to delete your global account before you can be renamed locally. Requests can be made at m:SR/SUL.
Or whether you just typed them out. If you want I can bundle them all into a template ({{CUS}}?) for you to save you typing them out every time! RichardΩ612Ɣɸ 15:09, June 6, 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I have just seen that you renamed this account. It is my real name. After a vandal did some harassemets and personal attacks 2006 I created these accounts on some wikis, on en.wiki it was Mike Rosoft, who created the account and thrown the password away (see [7]). I wonder now why you renamed it in case of SUL. I really wanted to ask for it in some days as I already unificated the global account with this name, now I see you did it by your own. Did somebody asked for it? It could be important for me to know it, might be the vandal is active again. Anyway, I could log in there today, without that the global account had to be deleted. Please let me know here or on the cs.source or wikisource.org. Thx, -jkb-(cs.source) 10:13, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Once you unify a global account, only the holder of that name can sign in with that name on any wiki whether the name does not exist. What I did yesterday was to rename all the all accounts here that have the same name as a global account but aren't attached to that account. It allows the global account holder to sign in with that name here, but wouldn't allow anyone else to do so. All of these accounts would have needed renaming at some stage and it seemed more efficient to do them all in one go (there were about 400 of them) rather than wait for people to make the inevitable requests, especially as some users from other projects without good english struggle with making the requests. Does that make sense? WjBscribe 10:22, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Sure. I was surprised only a bit because I thought that it is not possible to rename / usurp an account while the global account exists already. But anyway, now it has been done without I had to request, it works - so I thank you on this way once more. -jkb-(cs.source) 13:56, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
It isn't possible to rename an account that is attached to a global account, or to rename an account to the same name as a global account. It is however possible to rename accounts that have the same name as a global account if they aren't attached to that account. And you're welcome :-) WjBscribe 14:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Titles
I raised this on WT:RFA and nobody seemed to mind. Simply south (talk) 18:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
OK, perhaps it would be better if the titles were part of the tables rather than separate headers. Having the separate headers made the transclusions rather messy on the bureaucrat noticeboard. WjBscribe 18:27, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I've done that for the RFB table. If i did it for the RFA able, do you think it would mess up tangobot? Simply south (talk) 18:37, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I suspect tangobot would just remove it on its next update. WjBscribe 18:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I've just gone ahead. No testing possible although if it does muck up it can surely be undone. Simply south (talk) 18:51, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
You were right. Do you know how to add it permanently there, without mucking up the bot or it getting removed? Simply south (talk) 19:03, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
No, you'd have to ask Tangotango (talk·contribs) - unfortunately he isn't very active any more. It may be time for a new bot monitoring RfA and RfB... WjBscribe 19:25, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
COI Noticeboard re Oxford Round Table
Could you take a look at the COI noticeboard? Your comments on Nomoskedasticity's evidence that User:PigeonPiece has a full-blown COI would be very helpful. Personally, I think the case is pretty open and shut, but it needs some admin input. In addition, Nomoskedasticity and I were both given COI notices on the ORT article merely because we have posted at the Chronicle forum thread. Both of us have long since ceased being SPAs and I think our COI warnings should be reverted. Thanks.Academic38 (talk) 18:25, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Regarding SUL global deletion
Since I am a meta bureaucrat, and seem to be doing the majority of the global deletions for CHU and related pages of late, I'd like to ask you: do you think it would be prudent if I were to simply delete the global accounts of the requesters who neglect to make the necessary request at meta beforehand? Or do you think that it would be better to just wait for the requester to confirm that they are clear to have the global account deleted? Because I am thinking that the former would be in the best interests of efficiency and fluidity and process, considering that it is so simple to reunify and also that many of the requesters do not keep an eye on their request. Cheers, -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:14, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I've talked this over with a couple of stewards, the general consensus seems to be that because there is some risk to SUL deletions, users need to ask for it. Auto confirmed accounts can be lost due to bugs and there is some suspicion that vandals are looking for windows to grab accounts while global accounts are deleted and cause trouble. So, slow as is it I think they need to make requests - though you offering to do it for them here does save time. Btw, there's no real need to do it if they have no contribs they're likely to want to keep. For example, Wikipedia:Changing_username/SUL#Fale-en → fale - Fale-en's only edits were making the rename requests so it would have been fine for me to just move User:Fale out of the way to let them log in with that name, without needing the global account deleted. WjBscribe 11:20, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok then, and I'll keep that last part in mind. Cheers, -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:36, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, members and friends of WP:LGBT! I'm not one to be writing newsletters, but I miss our cruise director, Miss Julie, and our project is drifting along with a few leaking plugs in the bottom of the boat. Hey, it happens. Every group we join goes through changes. If Wikipedia weren't so interesting it wouldn't also be so frustrating sometimes. And vice versa. More than one Wikiproject has tumbleweeds blowing through it, but this is one that can't afford to let that happen. Even if you pop in to the talk page of the project, you can let us know you're still around.
WP:LGBT's Role in HIV / AIDS articles
It wouldn't be a proper gay community without a li'l bit o' drama! That's right. If we aren't arguing about something, then we should be asking if we're still queer. Maybe that's for the best, since we know we're still kicking. Our most recent topic is how far the role of our project should go in dipping our toes into HIV/AIDS articles. The main AIDS article was delisted as a Featured Article last month, sadly. (Sending a swift kick to WP:Medicine.) A spirited discussion is available for your entertainment on the WP:LGBT talk page about just how much of HIV and AIDS should we take on. As ever, we'll take your opinions under advisement. We're going to have to, because it doesn't seem to have been settled.
Is Pride POV?
We have a pretty cool sidebar that identifies core LGBT articles. Its symbol is the iconic gay pride flag, much like other Wikiprojects have iconic symbols denoting the topic is a core subject in a series of articles. However, a question recently arose asking if the symbol itself is not neutral. Should a pride flag show up at the top of the article on Conversion therapy? How else would anyone know the article is about queer issues? Is there another symbol that is as widely recognized and that includes all our many splintered facets? At what point do we stop asking ourselves all these questions and just go have a mint julep on the verandah and stop caring?
For the love of all that is holy, no Kool Aid jokes. However, an editor involved in pioneering San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk's article has included a section about the late supervisor's support of Jim Jones and the People's Temple. While it may be accurate, there is a Request for Comment regarding how much emphasis the section places on Milk's support in light of his overall political influence on the city, and indeed the rest of the United States. Milk's article is a sad one in more ways than one. It lacks the detail and heart that honors its subject. Anyone want to do a barter with me? I'll bring Harvey Milk to featured status (give me a month or two so I can read stuff), if you do something of equal value to WP:LGBT?? Make me an offer...
Queer Studies is offensive!
The established branch of study known as Queer studies was brought up as an category for deletion because an editor was offended by the use of "queer" in the title. It was overwhelmingly rejected mostly by the usernames I see here on our Wikiproject page. (A clue that I know you are out there, hiding...biding your time...) So, I wish I could congratulate you, but now I'm all confused by my sympathy for the editor who was offended. So, if you're reading this, Moni has a short memory and can't remember your username. Don't be put off by our demonstrative pushiness. Join us. We can always use involved editors.
What can you do to help the project out? Be a wiki-fairy, on many levels. There are all kinds of articles that need help. Why, just this morning I removed those ugly wikify and cleanup tags from four articles at random. If you can put [[ ]] around stuff, you can clean up articles. There's a list of articles that need attention at the top of the WP:LGBT talk page. Or you can start with the Lambda Literary Awards, where the goddess of my altar received a pioneering award, and was "reduced to rubble" by Katherine V. Forrest's wonderful speech. The 20th ceremony of the Lambda Literary Awards, which celebrates LGBT literature, took place in West Hollywood on May 29th [8]. The page needs to be updated with the new winners, to be found on the official website [9].
Why on earth would someone want to delete material about homosexuality? 'Tis truly a mystery. But these embattled articles have some random evil gnomes removing information that places these folks under our queer umbrella. Help us keep an eye out for the deletions. Take a peek at the articles, familiarize yourselves with the info, and be handy with the undo function in the article history. If tempers flare, take it to the Hall monitors and let them sort it out. Best solution is to make sure your sources are immaculate.
This month's Wiki stars
This is what I get for opening my big fat mouth and suggesting the newsletter should be revived. Here I am writing it. So, to pat self on back (*cough*) Mulholland Dr. became a featured article in May. This is A Good Thing since it is my personal declaration that there is no such thing as lesbian porn. I don't care what Benjiboi says about the video collection at goodvibes. Instead, we have hot women who connect on a deep, personal, soul-touching level, so this film should qualify as some of the skankiest porn available for lesbians. Plus, it's completely confusing and surreal! D'you think Laura Harring would care that the article is featured? I don't think so either... (Call me, Laura!)
Compulsive hoarding of templates
Once I saw a harrowing episode of Animal Planet's Animal Cops where this guy had, like, 250 cats in his house and it freaked me right out. I'm drawing a parallel between 250 cats and, well...three, really, templates in articles involving LGBT issues. Can we stick to one, maybe? In the aforementioned Harvey Milk's article there's a core LGBT template, a link to the LGBT portal, and a sidebar for LGBT rights. Jiminy! You'd think we weren't the folk to set industrial grey carpeting and track lighting in vogue. An LGBT footer was designed to link to articles of interest that aren't the aforementioned core articles. What do you think, can we have either an LGBT template for core articles, a footer for LGBT articles that are high profile but not core, or an LGBT rights template? As ever, anything's up for discussion on the WP:LGBT talk page.
It's June, Pride month. Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, get a designated driver, then go half-dressed in the streets find a girlfriend or boyfriend, or some homo who's standing there looking lonely and kiss 'em up real good. Remember, it all started 39 years ago when a bunch of drag queens just got fed the f*ck up by the cops raiding the bar and dragging them all out to the pokey again. Rock on, queens! Enjoy your celebrations. My town's is in October, and 200 people attend. I miss Denver.
It looks like we've picked up a lot of talent lately. We have no doubt you'll be making your indelible mark on LGBT knowledge as we know it, here at Wikipedia.
In the immortal words of Miss Julie, "May all your Wiki days be bright, and may your Love Boat never turn into a Poseidon."
We miss you, Miss Julie, as well as all the others who have graced our project and are on wiki-breaks or just got fed up with all the nuttiness and went to live their lives. Get your stupid houses built and hurry up and come back. --Moni3 (talk) 16:52, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Hiya. Just a courtesy note to say I've named you as one of the editors that I would accept a request for recall from. There's nothing onerous about it, and you don't have to do anything. It's simply to let you know that as I have added myself to CAT:AOR I needed some unfussed criteria for recall, and I believe your judgement fits that criteria neatly. Thanks! I sent you an e-mail a while ago...just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't seen it yet. Everyking (talk) 04:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

What I also found was the following url:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fringe_theories/Noticeboard
Here Vsmith has listed Whole-Earth decompression dynamics under the pejorative characterization of "fringe" along with such stuff as UFO articles, despite the fact that my work is published in a highly respected, world-class, peer-reviewed scientific journal. I find this action abhorrent and hope that you will be able to resolve the matter.Marvin Herndon (talk) 17:19, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
The above is my attempt to resolve issues described in Ticket#2008060910023031. Further, as I published the two fundamental papers about Whole-Earth decompression dynamics in 2005 and 2006 so there has not been sufficient time for discussion in the scientific literature; however, to my knowledge there have been two papers which discuss the work: Shrivastava, M. K. (2006) Loss of water from Martian surface and depletion of atmospheric Co-2. curr. Sci. 91(2), 147. and Cathcart, R. B. (2006) Trapping Earth's upper mantle methane gas resource at a nuclear drilling initive area, Palk Bay. Curr. Sci., 92(6)729-732. This was not mentioned on the assualt on "Whole-Earth decompression dynamics", which was deleted.
So far in my quest to resolve this issue, I have received no response from you. Kindly advise me of your plans and intentions, so that, if necessary, I can esculate the matter to a higher lever. Many thanks.Marvin Herndon (talk) 15:58, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Need your help with User Name
My current universal name is Beamathan. I would like to usurp Beam and then make it universal. Please help! Beam 18:25, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
User changing user name to avoid sockpuppet case and ban.
This user: PoliticianTexas(talk·contribs·deleted contribs·page moves·block user·block log) had his account deleted and user named change today. But, he is involved in an ongoing sockpuppet case that he has never responded to. I do not think that users should be able to change their account names until these types of cases have been resolved. This is just a maneuver, in an (albeit lame), attempt to avoid the case/ban. Please UNDO until case is resolved. Please advise. ~ WikiDon (talk) 00:47, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
It's not really appropriate for me to undo an action by another bureaucrat, I recommend you discuss the matter with Kingturtle. You can of course rename the sockpuppetry case and update links to take into account the name change. WjBscribe 03:12, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Your help is needed in determining consensus
Hello, I am Atyndall and I am one of the Mediation Cabal's informal mediator. Currently I have taken on a case regarding the naming of the Burma/Myanmar article here. I have decided, after realizing that the article has to be named either Burma or Myanmar, that I need to get everyone to list their opinions and determine the consensus (which I have done here. The problem is, to put it bluntly, I would find it very hard to determine the consensus on this issue as both sides have equally good arguments. So I was wondering, if, after 13:13, 24 June 2008 (UTC) (exactly 14 days after the first post) you could evaluate the consensus (along with another 2 'crats) at that page (as crats are good at, having to deal with RfAs) and list and try to detail why you think this at the top of the page in the section provided? Please do not feel obliged to do so, if you are busy I can ask someone else, but please let me know. Thankyou very much and happy editing :-) Atyndall93 | talk 01:13, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
I regret that I won't be able to help with this issue. I have been involved in this dispute in the past and may not be perceived as neutral but more significantly, I will be away without internet access from the 22nd until the end of the month. Good luck in resolving this dispute, it has been going on for some time now... WjBscribe 21:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks anyway and happy editing! :-) Atyndall93 | talk 01:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Name infiltration
Hey Will, hope all is good. Can you check this question for me. Is there a reasonable policy which deals with clear cross-over violation of the username and the BLP policies? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:57, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
All is well thank you. No actual policy so it falls to bureaucrat discretion. These are fairly routinely renamed, especially where they have no significant edits. I usually rename to a generic name e.g. Renamed user XX when XX is a number that hasn't been used yet (I think we're up to the mid twenties on such names at present). Usually requests follow OTRS complaints or involve the use of an admin's name to harass them, and requests are usually made to individual bureaucrats directly rather than at [[WP:CHU]. Feel free to rename it yourself or I will do it if you don't. WjBscribe 20:05, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought I'd seen that before now. I'll go ahead and carry out the request. Thanks for your advice. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:16, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you
Dear Will,
Thank you so very much for your kind words of comfort on my talk page. At a time such as this, words and deeds make such an enormous difference between suffering and consolation. You have consoled me.
Isaac is with me, here at home, until the funeral on Thursday. It gives me great comfort that we can remain together until our final parting. I am sure the funeral will be a beautiful event; Isaac was so loved that there are people and speeches from all over the world coming in.
I had two very important aspects to my life: my beautiful man, and my career. Now my career will have to sustain me. As such, I plan on returning to work on Monday, and hope to resume editing shortly thereafter. Until then, please know that your kindness to me is appreciated, and will never be forgotten.
With love, Jeffpw (talk) 20:02, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
You mean m:Template:Information thread? I'm not really sure what the criteria is for inclusion on that list and Radio Wikimedia seems less "official" than the other items listed there. Perhaps you could propose your addition on the talkpage? WjBscribe 14:40, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Assuming I'm not wrong, Lifebaka's RFA is overdue. Could you close it as successful? Shapiros10contact meMy work 21:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Hope you're good - our southern winter is kicking in down here, and I see from around the place that maybe a few wiki types have p'raps let the sun get to their heads! ;-) - I'm swinging by here because I've been following the discussions about 'bad blocks' at the noticeboard, and wanted to see what you thought about what I see as the fundamental question - Geogre put it better than me;
No bans by any administrator without 1) community consensus (that's community) or 2) RfAr that concludes with one.
I'm inclined to agree, and I would presume you would too? I've noticed we tie ourselves in wiki knots trying to deal with undoing actions, but I think that this has got to be baseline position, no? With that in mind, the obvious follow ups are 'is PD banned?' and 'is there consensus for it?' - I'd love to hear your thoughts.... cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 23:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
PD is not banned to my knowledge. He has however as I understand it breached the terms that lead to the lifting of his original indefblock. He is therefore I think correctly once again indefblocked unless and until he negotiates terms of a new unblock - I mimimum requirement for which I believe is a renewed commitment not to renew the problematic conduct with regards FT2. That said, given my prior involvement in the matter, I leave such decisions to others but thought I would express a view in the WP:ANI thread as there seemed to be some confusion - in particular I realise that Geogre was unaware of the original account blocked last year (and therefore saw a more sudden indefblock than had actually occured). WjBscribe 23:59, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm guessing that you weren't part of the discussions about unblocking Db to come back as PD and H - but I'm not sure... certainly the terms of this 'indef. block parole' seem a little ill defined. I think Ryan is acting in good faith believing that agreed upon terms have been breached - but the dispute resolution system is kinda hanging him out to dry by making it very hard for him to show that he's correct (all just my take on stuff...). The situation seems further complicated to me by use of the word 'harassment' which I personally wouldn't agree with, and we end up in a(nother) wiki mess. I don't know if Alex B does IRC - but I reckon if you could catch up with Lar in real time somewhere, you guys would figure this out pretty quick. cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 01:44, 1 July 2008 (UTC)and I'll disengage further now, unless I really feel I could clearly help the situation resolve...
