August 2016[edit]

Wikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopaedia. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if your purpose is to write a personal web page, then you would be better advised to use one of the many web sites which do provide that sort of service, such as a social network site or a web hosting service. Your user page was clearly not connected in any way with editing the encyclopaedia, so it has been deleted. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:55, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A Wikipedia talk page is for messages and discussions relating to work for the encyclopaedia, not for posting article-like content. Although I am removing the content you posted from this page, it is still available in the page history, as you can see here. I suggest copying the article-like contents from there (but not my message) and posting it to a new page at Draft:HDL (Automation company). You can then work on it there until it is ready to submit as an article, assuming that you intend it as a draft for an article. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on HDL (company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Information icon Hello, Wanzai888. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.Deb (talk) 10:56, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising[edit]

Putting to one side the question of whether you have a connection with the company, the main thing wrong is that almost every sentence in your article is written in a promotional style designed to encourage the reader to purchase products from this company. Maybe you are not aware that you are doing this; maybe you have just picked up a promotional "style" from reading English-language advertisements. To help you recognise this, I have recreated the article in your sandbox and tagged those sentences that contain POV statements that need supporting references. You can continue to work on it there.Deb (talk) 11:58, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Funnily enough, I was just looking at this. Be sure that the references are from impartial third-party sources, not just business directories. Such sources may be acceptable for basic facts about the company such as location and number of employees, but not for any claims about their products such as "over 300 products which have been created to meet the varying demands..." Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources will help you with this. I would recommend that you use Wikipedia:Articles for Creation to get an opinion on the article before you recreate it, then you can be sure it will be a truly independent view not influenced by me. August 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to HDL (automation company). I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Amusement, concern, relief.[edit]

Whenever I see someone making edits with edit summaries containing the word "grammer", at first I am amused by the irony, but then my amusement changes to concern, as someone who presumes to try to correct English in numerous articles while not having an elementary grasp of English can do considerable harm. I was therefore relieved to see that in this case the editor is indefinitely blocked. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:01, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have just seen an edit where the edit summary was "spelling and grammer", which makes the irony even greater. Moreover, that edit did not in fact attempt to change any spelling (despite the edit summary) but did attempt to correct the grammar, while in fact replacing perfectly good grammar with syntax which is not used in English.
