If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Night By Night requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. FoxyOrange (talk) 18:51, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Night By Night, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:33, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Message left at the Night by Night page

I have replied on the AfC page for Night by Night. Chihin.chong (tea and biscuits) 20:07, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Wikirob78, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Replaceable fair use File:Night By Night 2013 v2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Night By Night 2013 v2.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 22:24, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Night By Night 2013.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Night By Night 2013.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:30, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Night By Night for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Night By Night is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Night By Night until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 23:36, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

June 2013

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Night By Night. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:17, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to get this right, and put citations to Classic Rock Magazine and Bass Guitar Magazine but then they were tagged as unreliable or original research. Seems a bit confusing imoWikirob78 (talk) 14:42, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You added links to things like purerawk, nxnofficial, blogspot.co.uk, festivalphoto.net, stereoboard.com, youtube, etc. These compose non-reliable sources and/or original research. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:46, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please read the message above again, I was clearly referring to the magazines. ThxWikirob78 (talk) 19:37, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The warning was given to you for this edit [1] where you added a substantial number of non-RS sources which was reverted. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 22:10, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Votestacking

[edit]

Please review this section WP:Votestacking as you appear to be engaged in canvassing with edits such as this: [2]. Such behaviour is not acceptable on Wikipedia and can be viewed as disruptive. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:22, 15 June 2013 (UTC) Not sure about this - I read the Votestacking article and it says:[reply]

"Posting an appropriate notice on users' talk pages in order to inform editors on all "sides" of a debate (e.g., everyone who participated in a previous deletion debate on a given subject) may be appropriate under certain circumstances on a case-by-case basis."

Now JCC approved this article and appeared ok with it - and you do not appear to be so and I can´t see anyone else who has a view. So, I would say me posting on one person´s talk page would appear appropriate in the context of above! Wikirob78 (talk) 14:37, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comments in your notification to JCC included text such as, "which I believe you were happy with" which is appears as trying to influence a !vote. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:47, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Seems you may also want to invite FoxyOrange who seemed to have an opinion on an earlier version of it as well with this edit: [3]. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:14, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
P.P.S. And it also seems Drmies may be relevant as well considering the logs here [4]. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:16, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for clarifying, it sounds very complicated. I will not contribute any further. All the best. Wikirob78 (talk) 17:04, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but under the circumstances, I'd rather not vote/give my opinion. Thanks, jcc (tea and biscuits) 17:08, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Really isn't complicated at all - if you decide to invite people to comment you should invite all people who have demonstrated an interest in the article, not just those who you think will share your view. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 17:37, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
ConcernedVancouverite, I think that Wikirob must get the message by now- he's learnt his lesson the hard way. I would appreciate if took his actions in good faith- he was trying to defend his article without resorting to sockpuppetry (I saw a AfD the other day where it was a sockfest (unsurprising the page nevertheless got deleted)), and such would stop informing him (sorry for using the word informing, I couldn't find another word for attacking that didn't seem so "bitey"). jcc (tea and biscuits) 15:41, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Wikirob78/Night By Night, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Replaceable fair use File:Night By Night Band Shot.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Night By Night Band Shot.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 01:21, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
