- No, it's not a bot war. An article was created on fawiki, and interwiki was added on enwiki page by Mjbmrbot, then the fawiki article was moved, so WikitanvirBot updated that. Later an admin deleted that article, so WikitanvirBot removed the link from enwiki page. Later it was re-created, so Emausbot added that again. That's it. Hi,
The bot just added another interwiki language to a page I wrote, simple:Le Monde's 100 Books of the Century.
Your bot, and probably others, do a nice job listing the languages alphabetically, by name, rather than by 2-letter language ID.
But they always alphabetize "English" in Simple English as though it is a foreign language.
I think Simple English should list English before the foreign languages, in the same way that Norwegian (Nynorsk) lists Norwegian (Bokmal) before the languages that are actually foreign.

- Hello, it's not possible from my side to make the bot not to edit on a particular page, but you can do that using {{nobots}} template. And this interwiki inserting is not the bot's fault. Someone inserted wrong interwiki in any of the linked article and the bot followed that. If you can correct those links, the bot won't do that. But also, before correcting please use {{nobots}} in all of the linked article, so the bot will not add those links within your correction procedure. I see that you have frequent complaints on this page that your bot is inserting incorrect interwikis to which your standard reply is to see the FAQ and add {{nobots}} to the article. This is not an acceptable answer, first of all because it will exclude all bots which might well be doing something useful and nobots is only supposed to be used cautiously in article space, but more importantly, because you are not accepting responsibility for your bots action. You are responsible for edits your bot makes as if you had made them directly yourself, and it is your responsibility, no one elses, to sort out problems when they arise. Advising editors, as you have done above, that they should go around the other language Wikipedias to make edits in languages they in all probability do not understand is completely foolish and a recipe for all kinds of problems. - It might be understandable if your bot introduces an error on English Wikipedia because of an error copied from another wiki, but it is still your responsibility to clean up the mistake when it is pointed out to you. You say you do not know all languages so cannot fix, yet you are requiring editors who may only know English to take this on - that is not reasonable. It is irrelevant whether or not there is an error in the article in another language wiki. Vandalism on other wikis is a different issue, of course you are not responsible for that, but you are responsible if you inadvertently copy that vandalism onto another wiki. If you inform the bot controller, he has to place the nobots template... and to correct the mistakes. There is nothing more he can do. It seems that the running time of all those bots is the same and fixed... that interwiki link failure is something that is not removable from interwiki-link bots, if you think they do more harm than good... try to get consensus about that to change this.

As I was registered only on the Greek and English wikipedias, changes I made to other language wikipedias (by carefully examining the different language buttons) seemed to be reverted by your bot, possibly being considered vandalism. - Writing in wrong formate caused the problem. The bot fixed those inter-wiki though. It didn't kill the article text, it placed

- This page was fixed, but the bot can do same edits at the future. As I understand the bot identifies text: [[pl:page_name]] as iwiki. But page_name contains whole paragraph in discussed case! And the bot removes it. Can you insert to your bot's code the next condition: if page_name contains line breaks or '{' symbol or '[' or '}' then stop processing of the page and print warning "Manual intervention is required"? — Ivan A. - There's NOT always a one-one correspondence between terms in the real world. Better make your bot smarter !
- If you want, here is the explanation: 关系键 is a general article on several keys (superkey is one of them) most likely because every section for a kind of key isn't long enough to deserve a separate article. So there are a lot of links from every other language pointing to the same article, but via a REDIRECT to make sure that relative articles can still be found for foreigner readers.
- My point is, you don't speak Chinese, you can't judge if something is correct or not. So, leave them alone !! as it's stated in Wikipedia's policy, eg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirect —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.41.124.254 (talk) 18:19, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is there no possibility to prevent your bot from edit-warring? It can't be so difficult for the program to check wether the changes have been reset by some user. - Actually, bot can't judge if you are warring or not. You should point out the right problem, before you fix. The answer of your question is already answered in my FAQ. - The problem is that a human user, who wants to fix interwikis, needs some time to do that. Let's say there are 10 articles to change, so I need 10 minutes. Your bot reverts the changes quicker than that, so when I'm finished with the last article, the bot already reverted the first one.
- Another problem is, that the bot is edit-warring. Look at the version history here. Two human users remove interwikis, your bot reverts them 3 times. I don't think a bot should be allowed to do edits a human user would be blocked for. Of course the bot can judge if it is warring: it can easily compare the last edit in the history with it's own edit. In your user page, you've written that you're a member of some ORTS team. But it's really a shame that you are not even aware of some simple rules in Wikipedia, in particular, this is the one I'm talking about: Do not "fix" links to redirects that are not broken. Read at least the first paragraph.

- Redirects do not harm, they are quite okay when they are in article body, but an inter-wiki should not be placed to a redirect page. Then the bot will automatically remove/modify that that link. Hello, I saw your bot adding interwikilinks here, but that links were wrong, on nl-wiki the article is about a dj and the others about a town. I tried to remove the interwiki link to nlwiki on the other siki's but your bot added them some minutes later again. Is there a way to fix this problem? I just noticed WikitanvirBot and EmausBot just reverting each other in the Origami article over what version of the ukranian article it should link to.I think Emausbot which did the latest change is probably right as it linked directly to the article whereas this bot linked to a redirect. In this edit, while adding the su: link, your bot also moved the ro: link to be before the nah: link. I have corrected it. (Xqbot and EmausBot had the same problem, but seem to be fixed now.)
