Welcome XenoxRex!

Hello XenoxRex. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Walter Görlitz, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:28, 20 April 2022 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

August 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Erling Haaland, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:10, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

September 2022

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Erling Haaland. Thank you. TylerBurden (talk) 22:21, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Hawke moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ian Hawke, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello, I'm General Ization. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to User:Lee Vilenski have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Per below, and in any event your complaint about another editor is not a reason you should be unblocked. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:33, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Would you like to explain how this edit could possibly be constructive? General Ization Talk 00:22, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
its on a different article, specifically on the 2022 Fifa World Cup on notable spectators XenoxRex (talk) 00:56, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not asking about Lee Vilenski's edit, I'm asking about yours on that editor's user page. General Ization Talk 00:58, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As for that editor's removal of the content you added, it most certainly was explained, and if they had not removed it, I would have done so. General Ization Talk 01:09, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

when will i get unbanned XenoxRex (talk) 19:31, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your block is indefinite. That means there is no time when you will again be permitted to edit Wikipedia, unless you follow the instructions above and are able to convince an administrator that your access should be reinstated. General Ization Talk 19:34, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I apolgies to my actions that ive done. I should have never done the thing or vandalised the users talk page, it was a childish thing to do as i was angry at the time. I promise this will never happen again. If so happens again, i will not request to be unblocked again

Decline reason:

What you did used a deeply offensive word. Wikipedia is an environment where all are welcome regardless of nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other category, and comments like yours harm that environment. Your apology is appreciated, but you will need to tell us what steps you will take to control your anger or otherwise handle editing conflicts(which inevitably happen) so that you won't use such attacks again. 331dot (talk) 08:37, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The steps that ill take to control my anger and actions will be to ignore or explain to the user who reverted my edit in a more mannerable way. I will not do the same action i did to get blocked again. Please, i enjoy editing on this platform and wish to continue on doing so.

Decline reason:

I am unconvinced that unblocking at this time would be a benefit to the encyclopedia. signed, Rosguill talk 05:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Ian Hawke

When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 22:14, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
