Proposed deletion of Epaminondas Stassinopoulos[edit]

The article Epaminondas Stassinopoulos has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

E G Stassinopoulos[edit]

Hi, I've been trying to help clean up the article you created. It definitely seems like a worthwhile article, however at this point it really relies on primary sources (Stassinopoulos' own writings for example) rather than reliable secondary sources which is what Wikipedia is built on - see WP:RS. I've had a quick look for what is available online, but not really being familiar with the topic haven't found too much. Sources do not have to be online either - if you are aware of any published books or articles which talk about Stassinopoulos and can include details of them that would be great too. Thanks for your message - I'm happy to help - it can be tricky figuring things out at first. I tend to focus on copyediting and tidying up articles, so people like you who are coming with ideas and doing the research are really doing the heavy lifting and I'm just tidying things up so they meet WP standards and don't get deleted :) What are the references you have been using from the Oviatt library? If you could include details of them that would be great. For awards, again secondary sources are the goal, so not the award itself (that's a primary source) but some published source saying that he won the award, whether a book, article, newspaper, press release etc. For another example, the information you have about his early life in Greece, where did you get that? Hi, I'm sorry but I don't think I can help you with that for a couple of reasons. First, I don't know anything about uploading jpgs here either :) But more than that, if you are wanting to upload jpgs as references, then they would be primary sources, and that suggests to me that the information you are wanting to use them as references for has not been reported or written about in reliable, secondary sources which likely means it should not be included in the article at all. Wikipedia is not about including every detail of a person's life or work - even though the person is notable (in the sense that Wikipedias uses that word), not all his achievements are. If you want to pursue it further, I can only suggest posting a request on the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard and seeing if someone there can help you.
