Opinion poll[edit]

Hi We have no opinion poll about Yatsenyuk's party? --Panam2014 (talk) 13:29, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 👋

Yes, People's Front is placed in the "Other" category of Ukrainian opinion polls. Although Yatsenyuk seems to try to make a comeback and his party did quite well in December 2018 local elections. So we might have see Yatsenyuk's party get mentioned in opinion polls again.... By the way this opinion piece by Atlantic Council trashes Ukrainian opinion pollsters; so the fact that we have no opinion poll about Yatsenyuk's party might means nothing.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:07, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yuri Boyko[edit]

Hi

According to Opposition Bloc website, he is still president of the party. The new appointed OB president have joined the dissident OB. --Panam2014 (talk) 22:41, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It seems there are two groups who claim to be the OB.... The group who nominated Oleksandr Vilkul and a group around Boyko. Apparently Boyko's people somehow have gained full control the original OB website address.... Apparently the group around Vilkul started the party Opposition Bloc — Party of Peace and Development because they could not make changes to OB due to the courts injunction of 20 December 2018 (which prohibited any changes to the statute of the (party) Opposition Bloc). So I assume that you are right about Boyko.... But I am quite sure that if the "Vilkul people" had control of the original OB website address it would not even mention Boyko..... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 00:46, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should add it. It means that Boyko succeeded to keep the control of the partie who have joined OP-FL, and the others have registrated a new. So we should create a new page.--Panam2014 (talk) 17:49, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure who controls what of OB anymore..... But it seems that you are right. So you have my blessing. I agree it would be a good idea to create a new Wikipedia article for Opposition Bloc — Party of Peace and Development but due to (not tragic) circumstances I have not that much time for Wikipedia anymore. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 21:05, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Boyko controls the original OB because the new faction have finally launched it own website with the new logo. And days before, they have claimed in the website that Boyko have been replaced. --Panam2014 (talk) 22:41, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see..... Thanks for the/this information. I was wondering a few weeks ago when this new faction (I assume that this new faction is "Opposition Bloc — Party of Peace and Development") would launch their website.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:46, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So Boyko is the independent candidate of both OB and OPFL but he is not member of OPFL? I will do the enough and when you have time, you could check the article. --Panam2014 (talk) 22:50, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! The party "Opposition Platform — For Life" is not officially a political party.... (I have the feeling that when the congress of "For Life" officially changed the party's name to "Opposition Platform — For Life" something went wrong....). Officially OB has no presidential candidate registered at the Central Election Commission of Ukraine. It looks to me that Boyko and Vilkul both try to make the 2014 voters of OB believe that they are "the OB man". — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 23:22, 8 February 2019 (UTC):[reply]
For Life website still exist. And there are news from 2019. But electoral alliances have been banned in 2011 and OPFL is not the new name of FL. So what is the status of the movement? Should we have two articles? --Panam2014 (talk) 23:42, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think that if OPFL is not the new name of FL then there should be two articles. OPFL was at first announced as a platform for different political groups to nominate 1 presidential candidate. I really thought that it was then planned that Opposition Platform - For Life would become the successor party of For Life. But apparently they have gone back to OPFL just being a platform for different political groups to nominate 1 presidential candidate.... But due to time constraints I have not following political news much lately, so I am not sure what happened.... Maybe YantarCoast is more informed about this.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 00:17, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm afraid I haven't been following Russian-leaning opposition politics at all. Trying to keep up with news about the presidential election and its absurd number of candidates.YantarCoast (talk) 20:31, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It could have been that you had heard something about it. Yes, the number of candidates is strangely high.... A system in which candidates need to receive 500 valid sponsorships, like in the 2017 French presidential election would be better than the current Ukrainian presidental election registration procedurals.... Thanks for keeping the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election page updated. I am afraid that I just don't have the time for it anymore. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:01, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! Thank you. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 21:12, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I will create an article about Opposition Platform — For Life alliance but the first article should be moved to For Life because it is still the official name of the party. And I will crate an article for the OB-PPD. --Panam2014 (talk) 14:21, 24 March 2019 (UTC) But I have a question, why For Life website have been changed and now calls the party OP-FL? --Panam2014 (talk) 14:25, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating the articles! Good job. Yes, For Life on their website call themselves OP-FL. But that just seem to be done for PR reasons. I did not read that they changed the name legally. You might have also noticed that the site completely ignores "their candidate", for the Presidential election, Yuriy Boyko. Again, I have no idea why they do so.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 23:05, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Joke?[edit]

Hi

Is is a joke when Zelsensky claimed that he will not contest the election? --Panam2014 (talk) 15:19, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There were many comments [1]. I like that one: "Animals in the circus voted for the friendly clown, in protest against the drunk trainer who steal their food. Only parrots and jackals, fed by leftovers from the master's table, opposed it." Reminds Animal Farm with its Old Major. My very best wishes (talk) 15:33, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay in answering... Obviously (see Talk:Volodymyr_Zelensky#Mistakes in 2019 presidential election program) I am not the right person to edit Wikipedia right now.... I don't think My very best wishes answered your question Panam2014 (but I do enjoy reading his insights/thoughts). The problem with Zelensky is that he has not really communicated (at least according the the Ukrainian sources I read) what he wants and when he is making a joke and when not.... Even when he becomes a bit specific (like here) it still could mean anything.... ("pressure must not be put on the Russian language" might not mean he wants to abolish the 2017 Ukrainian law on education par example) — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 23:00, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, I think your editing is fine, and you are welcome to contribute. I wonder how they are going to debate. Probably just like here. My very best wishes (talk) 22:18, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rada[edit]

Hi

How many deputies are with Opposition Bloc — Party for Peace and Development, with Opposition Bloc, with For Life, and with OP-FL? --Panam2014 (talk) 22:33, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since the website of the Ukrainian parliament does not give information about this I do not know... (5 persons were removed from the faction of Opposition Bloc (including Yuriy Boyko) so I assume they went to OP-FL and probably also to For Life....). User:Севастополец does seem to know the number deputies of For Life.... But I don't know how he got that information.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 23:17, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So, Boyko kept the party but the faction is with OB-PPD? And Boyko have not yet formed his own group? --Panam2014 (talk) 17:52, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it seems that the faction of Opposition Bloc in parliament is now controlled by OB-PPD.... Boyko and Vadim Rabinovich have an own "Interfactional Union" of OB-FL. I can not find information on how big this Interfactional Union of OB-FL is.... these Unions can be big, but also comprising of 1 man.... If OB-FL wants to create their own parliamentary faction they need 15 Mp's to do so.... I assume that they could not convince 13 people more to join them..... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 18:19, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Members of the Rada's factions are members of the Opposition Bloc — Party for Peace and Development, not of the Opposition Bloc. So we should put in the article OB the numbers of MP members of the OB, not the OB-PPD. --Panam2014 (talk) 00:17, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also, how many MP are members of FL and members of OP-FL? --Panam2014 (talk) 00:19, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OP-FL have been registrated now? --Panam2014 (talk) 14:36, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Panam2014 for the late reply..... I is semi-retired Wikipedia editor now and I do not visit Wikipedia much anymore... I also lately have not paid that much attention to Ukrainian politics anymore. So unfortunately I can not answer your questions. I do agree that we should put in the article OB the numbers of MP members of the OB, not the OB-PPD. I do think that I will seldom edit on a Wikipedia article in the future.... so claiming that I am part of the "we should" is a bit presumptuous.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:20, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect that it is the same user who is using different IPs who is restoring this material, but I don't know what to do about it. Much appreciated for your help on this in advance. Groysman[edit]

Hi

Who will replace him? --Panam2014 (talk) 16:56, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is yet to be announced. Parliament has to except his resignation first (they have 10 days for this) and this is not been done yet. I have not read anything in Ukrainian online-media about who the new Ukrainian president wants to be Prime Minister.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:34, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And if the Rada accept his resignation, but not his successor chosen by Zelensky, what is the next? Also, do you have sources about Servant of people party? --Panam2014 (talk) 23:13, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Groysman stated in Ukrainian media that he will stay on as caretaker Prime Minister until a new one is appointed. I don't have sources about this Servant of the people party.... The Petro Poroshenko Bloc existed in name only a few months before the parliamentry election in 2014.... I got the feeling that this Servant of the people party is in a similar state..... That is why I was surprised Zelensky wants early parliamentary elections already next July.... (Although I never claimed to be an expert in Ukrainian politics 😁). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:30, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OP-FL and OB[edit]

Hi

Is the OP-FL registrated now? Also, for OB, why the website is now a redirection to OB-PPD website? --Panam2014 (talk) 22:38, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think that nobody of the former OB wants it to return to life.... The OB website became a redirection to OB-PPD website I assume to make people forget there was ever a OB....
It appears that OP-FL is registered because they are holding a party congress.... I can not find a source about its legal status though.... But even if it is registrated the party has already other problems: apparently Boyko can now not appear on OP-FL party list because he is still a member of OB and local branches of OP-FL are trying to cancel party decisions... In short the future of OP-FL still looks uncertain.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 13:30, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Opposition Bloc — Party for Peace and Development have a new logo with the mention Opposition Bloc. --Panam2014 (talk) 04:28, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I think we should remove VKB from the article because the first Bloc was composed by :

  • PORA
  • POR

The second by :

  • European capital
  • Social-democrats
  • People's Movement of Ukraine

In first case, the bloc was not composed by European capital (now UDAR) and in the second case, European capital was only a part of the bloc. Also, UDAR is not the merging of Social-democrats or People's Movement of Ukraine, only a new name of European capital. --Panam2014 (talk) 20:10, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it makes sense to create a stand alone article for Vitaliy Klychko Bloc. The political parties of Ukraine are such a confusing mess that I missed that VKB was not composed of European capital (now UDAR) in its first form and that in its second outing European capital was only a part of the bloc. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:54, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and yes a short mention that Civic party" PORA-ROP contested 2006 legislative election led by Klitschko should be add I think... since you can argue that this union was a sort of VKB... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 12:07, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Hi, Panam2014. There are various sources for the parties who have been cleared by the electoral commission, some citing at least 118+, others only about 4. You can find more (and conflicting) information on these at 112 UA, Kyiv Post... well, all over the internet. It depends on what you mean by eligibility to run in the snap election. Ukrainian government[edit]

Hi

Why for First Yatsenyuk government, Yatsenyuk resigns before being reappointed but not Groysman? Also, why for Hroysman government, the ministers have been appointed in the same time than the PM, but not for Honcharuk? --Panam2014 (talk) 18:57, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is no fixed government regulation and/or laws in Ukraine who organise the transition from one Cabinet of Ministers to a new Cabinet of Ministers... I recall older Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers were ministers were also appointed after the PM was already appointed. In Honcharuk case it might be that negotiations about the Ministers behind the scenes was not finished yet before Honcharuk appointment.... Keeping in mind that they were still taking to potential Ministers of health hours before Honcharuk appointment.... But that is my personal speculation.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 19:42, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you too! It seems that the government and all top posts (Prosecutor General of Ukraine, head of the secret service and head of the army (a few months ago)) have all been fully approved today. All are 100% Zelensky appointments, so everything that will go right or wrong in Ukraine from now on will be Zelensky's fault or achievement...

As long as People's Front has not declared publicly that they are extra-parliamentary coalition I do not consider them to be so. I think Mr Avakov did not consult with People's Front about him joining the Honcharuk Government. Usually when Ukrainian political parties disappear from parliament these parties never recover from this and the politicians in those parties move to other parties. See the history of Our Ukraine and the Socialist Party of Ukraine, they were once huge parties in parliament but never returned to them after they lost their seats. I would be surprised if Avakov really considered himself a member of People's Front. Unfortunately Ukrainian political parties are not parties united by ideas, but only vehicles of certain politicians who switch sides easily..... (see the biography of Yuriy Pavlenko, Nestor Shufrych and most long time Ukrainian politicians....). This lack of political stability is not good for Ukrainians (according to my humble opinion). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 01:31, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rada election 2023[edit]

Hi Why elections will be held on October 2023, not October 2024 of July 2024?

I have an opinion. Is it true? I know the election must be held on October. So because of snap election, if the election is held after October 2024, the mandate will be more than 5 years (5 years and 3 months). So by organizing snap election in 2019 from October to July (for three months), because of Zelensky's decision, the next election will be held in October 2023 not October 2024 (one year lost)? --Panam2014 (talk) 06:25, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. For the same. In politics fiction, if Zelensky resigns on October and a new President is elected and sworn in in January 2020. His term would end on March 2025 or March 2024? --Panam2014 (talk) 22:22, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay in answering Panam2014..... I am kept busy with projects outside Wikipedia.... But I just remembered that Viktor Yushchenko was sworn in in January.... And he was President from 23 January 2005 until 25 February 2010. I assume that the rules for future Presidents of Ukraine would be similar. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 21:33, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

VK[edit]

re: 08:39, 14 November 2019 diff hist +201‎ Internet in Ukraine ‎ →‎VK: According to the Internet Association of Ukraine the share of Ukrainian Internet users who visit VK daily had fallen from 54% to 10% from September 2016 to September 2019.[1]

This is because users apply various trick to bypass internet control, such as VPN connection, etc. None of my business anyway, but I am surprized you trust official Ukrainian media, where brainwashing is even higher than in Russia. Staszek Lem (talk) 21:40, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Facebook and VK are becoming slowly irrelevant worldwide due to the kids are using Instagram now anyhow. So that use of VK is dropping in Ukraine is not illogic. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:12, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
