Important notes on editing

[edit]

Hi, it's good that you are adding references to the articles you created, but please see Template:Cite web to see how to properly add an inline citation. Beside the URL, you'll also usually need to include the title of the link, name of the website, the date when the article (if applicable) was published, author(s) of the article (if applicable), and the date on which you accessed the URL. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 10:59, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please add the template {{reflist}} under the 'References' section for each article you create. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 11:01, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also take note of MOS:PUNCTREF – there should be no spaces between a punctuation mark (such as a full stop or comma) and an inline citation, or between inline citations, like this: Example sentence.<ref>example ref 1</ref><ref>example ref 2</ref>, not like this: Example sentence. <ref>example ref 1</ref> <ref>example ref 2</ref> (see the spaces in the last one?)
Also see MOS:DATERANGE – in Wikipedia articles, en dashes (–) should be used for linking dates (such as 2009–2012), not hyphens (as in 2009-2012]]. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 11:05, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also, please don't add unnecessary capitalisations in section titles. For instance, this is correct: == Life and education ==; this is unnecessary: == Life and Education == JACKINTHEBOXTALK 11:10, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kiran Kanoji requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The article Seema Prem has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sourced entirely by primary sources and social media. Entirely lacking reliable, verifiable, independent sources, and none found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Where to get some help and advice

[edit]

Your recent edit suggest you are interested in adding biographies of underrepresented people in Wikipedia which is a laudable goal.

However, several of your recent edits include copying and pasting all close paraphrase a of copyrighted material which is not permitted.

I urge you to check out this project: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red

Where like-minded editors may be willing to give you support his advice on how best to write these articles.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:44, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia + Chandni Khan article

[edit]

Hello @Zia Mann:

I have majorly cleaned up the article on Chandni Khan, which you created recently and added references to it. I gather from your contributions that you may have been editing women's biographies on Wikipedia as a part of a concerted effort, which is a commendable thing. I suggest that you familiarise yourself with the rules of contributing to Wikipedia before creating articles in large numbers or adding significant amount of content. Copyright violations are absolutely unacceptable on Wikipedia.

Do take a look at and ask for help at the Teahouse.

With reference to the specific article on Chandni Khan, please be aware that social media accounts such as those on LinkedIn and Facebook are generally not considered acceptable references on Wikipedia. I have removed the citation to Chandni Khan's LinkedIn profile. For more information about this, please refer to the policies on Self-published sources (online and paper) and Self-published and questionable sources as sources on themselves. Also, please see Manual of Style and Reliable Sources.

Chandni Khan's first name was misspelt in the title of the article. I have fixed that. Additionally, where a last name or surname is available, it should be included in biographical articles on Wikipedia. See: Biographies of Living People. Let me know if you need any help. -- Rohini (talk) 03:05, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Harshini Kanhekar

[edit]

Hello Zia Mann,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Harshini Kanhekar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Rajlakshmi Borthakur moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Rajlakshmi Borthakur, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
