This was the template we were working on, right? I have developed it a lot. The name parameter has been removed. Now the template automatically adds your username. It automatically identifies whether the person we are welcoming is anonymous (IP Users) of user. If anonymous, then the template will give him a message encouraging him to get a username. It is a mixture of 21 welcome templates!!! I surveyed all the templates and finally made this one. The list of all the 21 templates is given in the doc of the template. It has now got 7 parameters which include wide variety of skins, messages, colors, links, etc. Just see and tell me what changes I have to make. Use WP:SAND to test all the parameters. It has got 240 combinations to try!!! Don't worry, you needn't try them all as some 10 combinations gives you an idea of all the others. --Srinivas 06:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I thought the new message was the above section and I woke up today with a fever. I tested it here and it looks fantastic! I like the cookie option. Okay, I will work on the doc. There are also different skins. You have used the default skin. Also try welcoming an anonymous user. The template will automatically give them a message encouraging to get a registered username. And thank you for the praise on the tb notifying gadget. You have got your Status message but no status template. The Heresofold's one told to you by me is under some problems so use mine: Srinivas/status and yes, get well soon! So far it looks good to me, but I haven't tested it on another user yet. I'll wait until it gets to template space so the template won't corrupt. I'll use the sandbox instead. Actually, in comparing the logo on the website and the new SVG, I think the font is simply Times New Roman. Not sure what font you used on the SVG, but the serifs aren't rounded enough. Hopefully that's just a quick fix..? :-) wadester16 16:08, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps not, but there are these things called "nodes" that make up the SVG and only "paths" have them. If a text is a path instead of a normal text element, it creates too many nodes that cause inaccuracy during rendering. This logo is okay, I suppose, but it is quite an issue with diagrams. That's where the "websafe fonts" come in, incase you were wondering why the heck it's important (it is a nuisance for many graphists). :-) Happy independence day! ZooFari 04:45, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Why they are Nicknamed

Taniela Tuiaki is the tongan bulldozer because he is tongan and he is a hard player to tackle which is why he is a bulldozer, wendell sailor the boatman because his last name is sailor, john williams is the brother of the wolfman -so he is called wolfbrother and the man(since he has no beard) as he was nicknamed that on the sunday roast rugby league football show and most of the nicknames that are already give havent been used before im pretty sure some of them are made up ones as well and when fans of the game read the nicknames on wikipedia they could start calling them that so it wouldnt be offensive or anything. The template on which we both have been working from past one month has been successfully moved to template namespace under the heading {{W-all}}. I have notified Ageo020, the original author of this template. He will be replying me very soon. W-all has been added to the see also sections of all the templates listed in the doc of W-all. Vandalism to person

Hymenopodidae and Acanthopidae

Which one is it? I think Acanthops is in Hymenopodidae based on multiple references. And many other references tell me that Acanthops falacataria is actually Acanthops falcata. Can you help me verify this? Answer me on my talk. Bugboy52.4 | =-= 22:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

SVG Request

Hey Zoo, I was wondering if you'd be able to take this on. In the end, it will be used on an updated website if I have my way. I need this vectorized, using the center of this as a better basis for the image. Basically, the outside rings of the second one are bad, but those of the first are right. The inner art is better in the second (it has greys) and is bad in the first (which is solely B/W). The orientation should be that of the first. Assumedly, you can also get the letters better aligned since I believe this seal was actually "made" with paper cutouts back in the 80s. The colors should be black and white, but when objects overlap, there needs to be a white line to separate them. Could you also upload a version that's only red and white? I only saw it for a second, and not at high-res. The server issues are getting really annoying. I'll take another look later if the system will let me. Overall, though, it looks good. No font replacement; the tracings are fine. It's supposed to look old; it was drawn by hand (text included) in the late 1700s. If I see any issues at high-res, I'll let you know. AWB

No - basically, here's what I do. (The moth articles are easy, because they're broken down by genera, so I can basically use one template for the whole genus.)

I create the list of articles to edit based off of the "links on page" function: for instance, I tell it to pull all links off of List of geometrid genera: L. Then I feed the template text into the "Append/Prepend Text" window under the "More" tab. Then I go to "Skip" and tell it to skip all pages that already exist (bottom of the tab.) That way, when I start creating articles, the program comes to an article it knows already exists and ignores it automatically.

Oh, sorry - forgot the most important bit. Instead of writing {{title}}, write {{subst:PAGENAME}} wherever it should appear. That allows it to pull the title down and replace the template. Hello there, Fellow Wikipedia editor! First off, I'm very glad to be here with other contributors to the Web's best encyclopedia.

Now, I believe there was either some misunderstanding or else I need some clarification - my recent edit to Enzyte was what I believed to be a genuine, positive contribution to the article, providing a more "user-friendly" depiction of the product, summarizing the product better than the paragraphs listed there before.

My edit was reverted, however, on the basis of vandalism o_O. Can you please tell me how my edit was considered vandalism, and how to make my edits avoid such vandalistic appearance for future contributions?

Hello, I will assume good faith to your edits. The revision you gave was reverted because the entire article was replaced by something with little information. In this case it is considered unexplained removal of content. If you want to include the edits, do not replace it with the entire article. Instead, add it to an appropriate section. White House SVG

Your White House plans pictures are absolutely fabulous. Great work! However, I'd like to tell you I noticed a small issue with one of the files. If you look closely at the "South Portico" on the State Floor picture, you may notice the far right column has a white strip on it. Now, if you look closely enough, you'll see there's "Blue Room" written in white at the bottom of the picture. You probably left this by mistake. Thank you, although the context is practically the lead section of the article (hence the More button). Please delete the redirect: the portal was made 2 years ago and the templates weren't nice. Primates portal

I'm glad to see someone working on a Primates portal. I will gladly help out with anything you need. Ironically, you created the portal around the same day I started contemplating the creation of a Lemur portal. Although I am currently in the middle of re-writing the Lemur article (offline), I was thinking of creating the portal after I managed to promote Lemur to FA. (I'm not sure if you're familiar with my work or my goals, but I hope to eventually re-write all or most of the lemur-related articles and get them to either GA or FA.) Do you think anyone would have a problem with me creating a Lemur portal, especially now that Primates has a portal? –Visionholder (talk) 18:04, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, that depends on how broad the topic is. Primates is a large order, so it is suitable for a portal. I'm not sure how broad lemurs are; I see it is also an order. Perhaps it can be possible. Even so, creating a lemur portal wouldn't be a big deal, as it would have a good association with the Primates portal. I guess I identified a small portion of it (without even scrolling down) unsourced or CoI. I wasn't aiming a "bite to the newbie" but results would have been the same when targging the article for deletion. So I apologize if my behavior was innappropriate to your prespective. Yeah, it was going to be deleted in any case, and it was certainly an overreaction on his part. Ideally the material would've been userfied, and we'd have gently explained WP:BIO, and encouraged him to post the material on his own website. I'm sure you meant well, but for the most part I can police my own talk page. The comment you removed was actually a response to an edit of his I had reverted. He's probably correct about the age thing, and it fits into a larger issue being discussed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television.
