how to fix what i accidently messed up when editing a section[edit]

i was editing Raekwon's featured artist section to add a song, but when i went back to the page one of the songs got seprated from the 2010 i tried to fix it but its kind of messed up, can you show me how to fix it ? prefix:Wikipedia:FAQ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.11.212.78 (talk) 03:20, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like someone else fixed it already, but in the future, you can click the "history" tab while viewing the article in question. Then select an old version of the article (in this case, the one just before you started editing) by clicking the time and date of that version. If you select "edit" while viewing the old version, then hit "save page", you will return to the older version. If you need any more help, or if this doesn't make sense, please let us know! --Jayron32 04:10, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Collapsable[edit]

Resolved

Is there any way I can make this collapsable? ~ Richmond96 tc 03:23, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I made it collapse above with this edit. This particular class form makes it collapse by default. If you change it to just "class="wikitable collapsible"" it will be expanded by default, but can be collapsed by the reader. You can read more at Help:Collapsing. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:24, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. ~ Richmond96 tc 04:30, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

raid levels[edit]

This page is for questions about the use of Wikipedia. For your question you may wish to try the Computing reference desk, but I would also recommend that you word the question more clearly. David Biddulph (talk) 09:47, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where do I post to get someone to create coding for a template?[edit]

Where do I post to get someone to create coding to respond to this request? User:Davidgothberg normally edits that template, but he's been out for a while. {{editprotect}} does't seem to fit. Is there some sort of request board manned by coding editors? Thanks. Alternatively, if you can make the change to the template, please do so. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 11:25, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The technical help desk is here, but in this case I have attempted the change myself. -- John of Reading (talk) 12:48, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you John of Reading. Any opponent of William of Ockham is a friend of mine. For your kindness, I added some referenced info from a 1726 book to the John of Reading article. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 16:31, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What a splendid way to express your thanks! -- John of Reading (talk) 21:27, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

COMPUTER ACCESSORY[edit]

LFBWALSH (talk) 12:32, 21 November 2010 (UTC) a few years ago, there was a device to help persons that do not type very well, one can speak the words, and the computer will type in as you speak, what is the name of the device? I can not find it or remember the proper name, is it still available? I think they were sold at Best Buy.[reply]

Thank you,

Linda Walsh

You might find what you are looking for in the article about Speech recognition. If you cannot find the answer there, you can try asking your question at the Computing section of Wikipedia's Reference Desk. They specialize in knowledge questions and will try to answer just about any question in the universe (except about how to use Wikipedia, which is what this help desk is for). For your convenience, you may click here to post your question. I hope this helps. -- John of Reading (talk) 12:58, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How to join TUSC[edit]

I want to upload images from Geograph.org - a free source - to Commons. I have the tool but need a TUSC ID. May I have a link please? Thanks MarkDask 13:57, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what TUSC means (it presumably is not TUSC), but whatever it is, geograph.org seems to be a parked domain, not a valid link. Can you explain some more? A parked domain, moreover, that brinks up another window with advertising masquerading as news, and which gives you a warning and asks you to confirm(!) when you have the temerity to close it. Ugh.--ColinFine (talk) 14:28, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Try geograph.org.uk instead of geograph.org DuncanHill (talk) 17:32, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The page Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons mentions TUSC accounts, with this link to a page titled "Toolserver User Screening Control". -- John of Reading (talk) 14:45, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) It's needed for the Move-to-commons assistant and it stands for "Toolserver User Screening Control". The direct link to TUSC is here. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:46, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I now have a T U S C account - thanks all for the correct links. MarkDask 17:27, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia font[edit]

All articles on Wikipedia.com now show up in a cursivefont that is very had to read on screen. Is there a way to change this font into Arial or something sans-serif? It's becoming increasingly difficult to ready articles on this site, and as a result my use of Wikipedia has reduced drastically.

Andreea —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.57.217.65 (talk) 16:02, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia just tells your browser to use the sans-serif font listed in its settings. When the font gets screwed up this usually means your browser's setting has been changed. The exact location of the setting depends on your browser. For example, in Firefox, it's at Tools -> Options (or Edit -> Preferences) -> Content -> Advanced (under Fonts and Colors). User talk:a.b.c.d[edit]

please don't send me messages based on edits I haven't done to articles I've never read; assuming an IP address corresponds to a user is about as logical as assuming that the moon is made of cheese or that someone should be fined for making an unfunny joke on Twitter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.118.74 (talk) 17:44, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The easy way of avoiding such warnings is to register an account and log in. David Biddulph (talk) 17:55, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No such assumption is made. The bottom of all IP talk pages has a box explaining this, for example User talk:86.154.118.74. Nearly all talk page messages are dated and were made shortly after an edit from that IP address. A large part of the messages will be seen by the right person. PrimeHunter (talk) 18:25, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you choose not to create (or not to use) an account, then the only way Wikipedia has of identifying you is the IP address you are using. The talk page for that address is the only place it can send messages. --ColinFine (talk) 23:05, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Targeted messages at top of screen[edit]

When I am logged in I am seeing messages at the top of my screen. Sometimes these are for everyone, such as "help design the advertising banner", and some target me, such as messages inviting me to attend a wikimeetup in my geographic area. Where do these messages get added? Where can I request that a message I copse be added? Where can I request removal from targeted lists that I am apparently on?--96.224.145.248 (talk) 19:57, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The messages are not specifically targeting you, but are instead tailored to your geographical location. You can opt not to see the notices by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Watchlist notices. Discussion in regard to nominating messages is held at MediaWiki talk:Watchlist-details. - Bilby (talk) 02:51, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page move =[edit]

I need to verify if an article I just posted live is going to be available on the wikipedia site. I searched but my article doesn't come up although I got confirmation that my "Move" was successful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PamelaPageInc (talkcontribs) 23:09, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article was mistakenly moved to User:Brian Edwards. However, as it was not a user page, it was subsequently deleted from there and moved to Brian Edwards (producer). I suspect it wasn't showing up in searches because you looked for it when it was a user page, and that would not appear on the default search configuration. - Bilby (talk) 02:34, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
