I'm not sure what you mean. This is Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Science is one of our around four million articles. You are free to read all of them. If you want to do something other than read then please clarify. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:44, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe he wants to print the article? On my screen (I don't know if it works this way for others) there is a section called "print/export" on the left side of the page below "toolbox". Also, here are directions on how printing might be done. Where it refers to "sandbox" click User:24.210.133.83/sandbox. — Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 18:38, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of Victoria Cross Holders - Missing Recipient[edit]

The following person is missing from the Scottish list of Victoria Cross holders although his details are held in Wikipedia.

His details are:

• Matthew Fontaine Maury Meiklejohn – 1899; Elandslaagte, South Africa

Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.97.31.225 (talk) 01:40, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Although he served in the Gordon Highlanders, I can see no evidence that he was Scottish. He was born in Clapham. If you can find any references that identify him as such, you can add him to List of Scottish Victoria Cross recipients. Rojomoke (talk) 05:33, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox mobile phone[edit]

Hi, can somebody add the parameters "| slogan =", "| unitssold =", "| unitsshipped =", and "| website =" to Template:Infobox mobile phone? Thanks. --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 03:30, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Multi-category search[edit]

Is there any way to search for articles that full into more than one category? In my case, I want to search for articles that fall into both Category:Chinese emigrants to the United States and Category:Lawyers. This would be a quite powerful tool. Matt's talk 08:50, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Try Wikipedia:CatScan, it scans subcategories as well. jonkerz ♠talk 11:15, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Center my new barnstar[edit]

How ever much I try, I fail in putting my new barnstar (Socratic, at the bottom) in the middle of my userpage (horizontally, that is). I have tried putting: align="center" in all kind of places, but it just turns out wrong. How to fix this? Lova Falk talk 09:39, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hej! Like this? jonkerz ♠talk 11:20, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done That's it! Tack tack! Lova Falk talk 11:27, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added 'Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes'. Source: www.ampsonline.co.uk . I will try to create a stub for it.[edit]

I think it is appropriate to create a stub for this organisation. Do you agree? I hoped to find independent information about it on Wikipedia and maybe others do too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ianxmckay (talkcontribs) 10:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You'll need an independent, secondary source. If ampsonline.co.uk is the only source, then it's going to be difficult to justify inclusion. --Robert Keiden (talk) 00:41, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pages added to categories[edit]

How do I find out what pages were added to the categories that are on my watchlist? I have tried to used User:Ais523/catwatch.js, but it didn't seem to work. Allen (Morriswa) (talk) 12:41, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have made some fixes to your WatchedCategories.js file: it was missing an opening quotation mark in one place, and a closing quotation mark and comma in another. Hopefully this will make the script operational (you will need to bypass your cache for it to have a possibility of working).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:02, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the corrections. Where do I go to see the results of the script? On my watchlist, I see nothing different. Thanks for your help. Allen (Morriswa) (talk) 18:57, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How can I check my messages?[edit]

I saw something that said I had a message. I was wondering where I can view that message (or eMail.).

Thanks! -c — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morriah (talkcontribs) 15:03, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here. You can reach the page by clicking on "My Talk" at the top of every page. jonkerz ♠talk 15:07, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invalid confirmation code. The code may have expired.[edit]

I do receive the email along with the link to click, but upon clicking it as the email tells me to do,this is the response on the page it takes me to: Invalid confirmation code. The code may have expired. Update ... fourth time through it has finally taken the code. This post can be deleted ... thank you K3LYC (talk)

sandbox[edit]

Hi,

I wrote an article and moved it to live wiki, and now when I want to use the sandbox again, I see that the article is still in the sandbox too. Do I erase it? how can I use the sandbox again? thanks. Meitalklachuk (talk) 19:30, 8 September 2012 (UTC)meitalklachukMeitalklachuk (talk) 19:30, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Meitalklachuk/sandbox was left as a redirect to the article when it was moved. I've taken out the redirect, so the sandbox is now available to edit again. Yunshui  20:01, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where to open a debate[edit]

I wish to open a debate on the issue of articles concerning criminal acts as I feel there are important issues to be addressed with regard to these. Where would be the appropriate place to do that? I've mentioned it at Wikipedia:Notability (events), but wasn't sure if that is the correct page. Cheers Paul MacDermott (talk) 20:27, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Read your post at Notability, not sure if these are perfect but checking at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Crime_and_Criminal_Biography and Template_talk:WikiProject_Crime might be a start. Marketdiamond (talk) 23:21, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll take a look. Paul MacDermott (talk) 11:41, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

correcting a problem with a source citation[edit]

hi. a question was raised about a source citation for a photograph that i uploaded to wikicommons. [1]

I hope to be using this (and five others) as documentation for a submission to wikipedia [2]

I updated the source information as best as I could - and i have looked at many FAQ and other help locations - but i guess i need some advice as to whether i'm on the right track with this. There are no citations on the plaques themselves and quite literally there is pretty close to zero information anywhere about the trail, the monument, or the information signs. Let me know if there is anything i can do to make this better. thanks bill polk Abearfellow (talk) 20:45, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK. The immediate problem is that you've uploaded images without saying where you got them from (I'm assuming you took them yourself). That's why they are being queried. Normally this could be fixed with little difficulty - just state the source (self-made) and license accordingly. But there are further questions, because what you've done is make high-resolution photos of some text and images which may or may not themselves be copyright-protected. The specialists at our media copyright help desk are the best people to help, and I think you need to ask about this over there.
I see you made the images to use as a source for your draft article. Did you know that there's nothing to stop you citing these signs as sources anyway? Wikipedia doesn't even demand that written sources for articles are available to view online, let alone uploaded in image form to a Wikimedia project, so you don't actually need to have the photos of the text available. I also see that you're reproducing the text of the signs verbatim in the text of your draft article. This is not necessary at all, and in fact may be another copyright violation. I suspect your submission will be declined when it is reviewed, for this reason if for no other. What I would suggest is that you remove all the verbatim copy from the article, incorporating the important information within the text but in your own words, and citing it to the signage at appropriate points in the text; something like <ref>National Forest Service information signs displayed along Brow Monument Trail</ref> might work. You should also try to find some other written sources on the subject to support your article. Feel free to ask again if you need more help, and good luck with the article. - Karenjc 22:36, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

there seems to be a vandal[edit]

Admin templates[edit]

Hi there. Where can I find a list/page of admin templates for things like speedy deletions and block appeals? Thanks. --Voidywordy (talk) 23:09, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Administrators are editors who have been granted the technical ability to perform certain special actions, for example blocking users. You are not an admin so your post [3] claiming to block a user does not make sense. Please don't pretend to be an admin. Admins are appointed at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.
