Hi My Name is Barry Peterson I am a Director of Photography in Hollywood and have noticed the CBS reporter ( Barry PetersEn) is linked to the films I have shot. IMDB has my credits list.

I've removed the obviously problematic material in Petersen's Wikipedia biography. IMDB is not a reliable source by our standards. I think that (rather than being concerned about the content of Barry Petersen) the OP was saying that he is Barry Peterson, and that he is concerned that links to him go to Barry Petersen. This is because there isn't an article on Barry Peterson, but someone has created a redirect to Barry Petersen. A quick look around shows he may be notable. His filmography is published by a variety of well respected sources and at least two news articles about him exist - http://www.canada.com/story_print.html?id=0d813306-ae9f-4591-8273-337418aecede and http://business.highbeam.com/1081/article-1G1-18631391/mild-heart so it looks like an article would be viable. Unnecessary CAPTCHA[edit]

I just added a sentence to the Alan Warner article noting his latest award. I had to respond to a CAPTCHA, supposedly because I had added an external link; however, the only link I added was an internal one (to the James Tait Black Memorial Prize). You should get the CAPTCHA whenever the rendered version of the saved page contains a new external link. This link may be caused by changes in a transcluded template and not changes in your edit. In your case I suspect that [1] caused the link on the ISNI number at the bottom, by pulling the number from wikidata:Q1130840. If a template (or module) is edited then it often takes a long time before all affected pages are updated automatically. If an affected page is edited then it's always updated at that time. This is tricky. A large number of usually reliable sources say Blytheville, TX, but I cannot find a place called Blytheville in Texas. Blytheville, Arkansas is apparently the only Blytheville. See for example [2]. Maybe all the Texas sources copied the same error. Here is one source saying Blytheville, Arkansas: [3]. Jacksonville Maritime Heritage Center Jacksonville FL[edit]

Hi:

My name is Paul Ghiotto and I'm the director of the Jacksonville (FL) Maritime Heritage Center. I can be reached at the Center during normal business hours, Tues-Sat, 11 AM to 5 PM, at [phone number redacted]. I would log in but I've forgotten my password to my user name.

Here's the problem re: 'Center hours of operation

Although the body of the Wikipedia article about the JMHC correctly lists the hours we are open and closed, the hours are listed incorrectly on the right side of the web page that people click on to get to the Wikipedia article. In other words, when I "Bing" the name "Jacksonville Maritime Heritage Center" the usual list of sites appear on the page. The incorrect hours of operation are seen on the right.

This incorrect listing has been causing problems with our visitors who arrive on Sunday only to discover we are closed and during the rest of the days we are open (Tues-Sat) whose actual hours are incorrectly listed.

How can this be corrected?

We don't reply by phone. I'm not aware of such a feature in the search engine Bing.

Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information.

If it is indeed about a Google search then below the box at the right is a "Feedback" link. You can click that and report to Google that the hours are wrong, but we have no inside knowledge of how Google processes such reports. I don't think you can report the correct hours. If enough people report the hours are wrong then Google might just remove them at some time but this is entirely up to Google and not Wikipedia. The hours are not in the part copied from Wikipedia. Category:Foo vs. Category:Foo|Bar[edit]

On pages like Category:Fictional air force personnel, why do I see entries like
[[Category:Fictional aviators|Air force]]
instead of just
[[Category:Fictional aviators]]?
As far as I can tell. the added "|Air force" doesn't change anything on the page, yet I see this sort of thing a lot. What am I missing? --Guy Macon (talk) 09:32, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. You'll often see this with biographies as well. For instance [[Category:Living people|Obama, Barack]]. Though you can also use the DEFAULTSORT keyword to help. So, you'll see {{DEFAULTSORT|Obama}} [[Category:Living people]] [[Category:Presidents]] and so on. The Default Sort assigns that value to all the categories at once so you don't have to type it out for each one. Dismas|^(talk) 09:54, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that they are all unnecessary since those categories are going to be listed alphabetically according to the name of the category whether it is explicitly stated or not. Reflist Template[edit]

I have just began a new Wikipedia article, under my name, Davidbena:Yemenite Jewish Customs, but I received a message, saying: "There are <ref> tags on this page, but the references will not show without a {{reflist}} template (see the help page)." (edit conflict)You should have a "References" section near the bottom of the article. For instance, you might have a heading that says ==Early life== or ==Career== Well, you also need one that says ==References== and then under that you place the template {{reflist}} so that your references display there.

By the way, when you put the <ref> tag in your above question, the page tried to render that as a reference. If you're going to display tags without actually using them, you need to wrap them in nowiki tags like so: <nowiki><ref>{{reflist}} etc.</nowiki>

Review of image for copyright eligibility?[edit]

I uploaded File:123+Bruegel-Parable+of+the+Blind.jpg as a Fair Use image. It's a Renaissance painting with lines overlaid as an analysis of its composition. File:Pieter Bruegel d. Ä. 025.jpg is obviously in the Public Domain, but I didn't know if the ovelaid lines qualified for copyright or not. If not, I'd like to create a new file with the same lies overlaid, but on a higher-quality version of the painting (the one with the overlaid lines is small and in black & white). Can anyone help? So I want to create a page called "THE RED ARMY CHOIR", with the history of the Red Army Choir and I want to distinguish the two ensembles : - Ensemble Alexandrov founded in 1928 under the direction of the Ministry of Defense Russian - Ensemble MVD founded in 1939 under the direction of the Russian Ministry of Interior

What you would need to do is to create a page on MVD Ensemble, and turn the redirect page Red Army Choir into a disambiguation page with links to each of the two articles. Probably each of the two should also have a hatnote pointing to the other. I recommend you concentrate on creating the MVD article first (use the WP:Article wizard), and worry about the disambiguation afterwards. --ColinFine (talk) 13:55, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help finding "Super Mom"[edit]

I could not find an article elaborating on Supermom so I am trying to create one. I did a search to find other articles that could link to it, but the search results turn out articles where I cannot find the term. For example: Talk:Feminism/Archive 19.

restoring the ubercart article because it is notable, commonly used in drupal[edit]

according to Tom Geller, ubercart is a drupal module for adding e-commerce to a drupal website. It is fairly popular, however Tom Geller says at lynda.com's transcripts that Ubercart was originally made by Commerce Guys who later removed themselves from the project because of "certain circumstances" and went on to make Drupal Commerce. Given that Drupal Commerce is fairly well-known, as is Ubercart, I was trying to find evidence in Wikipedia of what caused the founders to start over again from scratch. However, the article was deleted for lack of notability. It seems this was in error.

We don't restore articles so people can 'look at them' - that would defeat the purpose of deleting them in the first place. I'd suggest that if the topic was notable, it should be possible to find the information you are after elsewhere - and if it can't be found, that may give a clue as to why the article was deleted. And changing the section header won't make any difference, either. The AfD discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ubercart. This was my last message from end of june: "I am still trying to create a new template for WikiProject Biology, the page is Template:Subtitle/Taxon. One user help me a lot but still have some problems when trying to edit the subtitles, it does not appear like in the exemple. It's small details for sure just a question of brace or something like that!! If an expert could have a look on it to finish this nice template, please. Thanks in advance for your contribution." I noticed that the French version of the template transcludes the parent template fr:Modèle:Sous-titre. I am guessing that some of the code in Template:Subtitle/Taxon is there in place of the parent template Template:Subtitle which does not exist on the English Wikipedia. How to make it appear on the main page.[edit]

I found a very interesting thing about a RMS Titanic survivor, Edgar L. Perry, aged 19 in 1912 who died in the Southampton Blitz in 1940. There's almost no information on him to create an article and in the Southampton Blitz article it's mentioned but it's old so it doesn't qualify for Did you know?. Deleted Article[edit]

My article Ambivalent Love Addicts was accepted. Then one editor deleted it citing copyright issues. I have tried several times to find out how one editor can make this decision. I own the copyright. I can prove it. How can I get my article back on. Thank you.

See Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything. Unless the topic has been substantively written about by others, it does not meet Wikipedia's guidelines for notability; even if you were to release the copyright for the material, it wouldn't have a place on Wikipedia. The article has been created again, and I have tagged it for speedy deletion on the grounds of copyright infringement; in addition, you say on the talk page "I created this term in 2004", and Wikipedia is not for things made up one day.
