Creating a new article[edit]

I wrote a new article (it's my first) with the corresponding media files that I uploaded to the server, but I can't figure how to publish it. The upload wizard is not helping at all. Is there a clear simple step by step guide to guide me through this process? Thnaks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mariana Thomas (talkcontribs) 06:54, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article has been moved to Draft:Nabila Mikhail Youssef; but there is no point uploading photos and the like until the article itself is cleaned up enough to actually be used as an encyclopedia article. --Orange Mike | Talk 07:46, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Mariana Thomas: I have some recommendations that you can implement into the article. First, you need a clearer opening paragraph. This could be something like Nabila Mikhail Youssef (October 1935 - October 2013) was an Egyptian .... Secondly, you'll need to find reliable sources (not self-published, see our notability guidelines), to back up your claims. Next, you need to clean up your article by adding internal links and splitting your work up into paragraphs. As Orangemike said, you're going to have to clean your article up before you add a picture. Leave me a message on my talk page if you need further help! Many thanks. I'll work on it further and will get in touch again. Thanks again for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mariana Thomas (talkcontribs) 02:08, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How am I supposed to delete pages in my own user space?[edit]

Nominating a stale private user page (e.g. User:YohanN7/Cantor's antinomies, for which I have no use anymore) for deletion seems like overkill. Is it enough to just blank it and save? I doubt that... YohanN7 (talk) 09:20, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can blank it and leave it if you want, but if you want it deleted, add {{db-u1}} to the top of the page and an admin will stop by and delete it. GB fan 09:23, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

The Cheryl Cole page has not change the actual file name to Cheryl Fernandez -Versini. She has recently got married again and would previous not like to be called Cheryl Cole because that her ex husband name (Ashley Cole) he cheated on her several time they divorce couple of years ago. So she would like to called Cheryl Fernandez -Versini.

Here some evidence

Please can someone do this to me, I am not high up in wiki team to do this — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shaun3559 (talkcontribs) 10:01, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shaun3559. The change you want is controversial: it was discussed on Talk:Cheryl Cole, and there was an overwhelming consensus NOT to make that change. The reason was that people still predominantly call her "Cheryl Cole". There are some people on the talk page, however, who think the page should be titled just "Cheryl". If you want to participate in the discussion, go to Talk:Cheryl Cole. —teb728 t c 11:00, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

who discovered america[edit]

would someone please tell scott wolter and all the other t.v. historians that columbus DID NOT discover america. he never got even close. he thought hispanics were chinese. when will we ever stop including him in the list of great explorers. american was discovered one thousand years before columbus or his grandparents were even born. why are we called AMERICA and not COLUMBIA? who was this guy amerigo vaspucci, maybe he discovered AMERICA. come on scott, get your facts straight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.235.84.46 (talk) 20:37, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We have no connection to Scott Wolter, his show America Unearthed or his theories. --  Gadget850 talk 20:52, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Further, this page is for questions about how to use and edit Wikipedia, as noted at the top of the page. ‑‑Mandruss  20:56, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Christopher Columbus "thought hispanics were chinese"?!? Did that include King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella? AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:00, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The place for discussion of the article on Christopher Columbus is its talk page, Talk: Christopher Columbus. More generally, the place for discussing proposed changes to the content of any article is that article's talk page. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:09, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, the Vikings came before Columbus and I don't know why they don't get more credit. The Hispanics this person refers to would be the Native Americans, and by that I mean Native North Americans (including those on the islands) and Native South Americans. Many Hispanics have Native American heritage.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:51, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

George Lucas is not really married. Mellody Hobson doesn't exist![edit]

Don't post nonsense. Their marriage is sourced in their articles and Google trivially finds lots of reliable sources. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:25, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Remember that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence! Given that she has an article (Mellody Hobson) with a photo, we're going to need more than your say-so to remove her article.--Auric talk 15:58, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
