so I need new facebook account — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.156.115.135 (talk) 00:50, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't appear to be a question related to Wikipedia- this help desk is only for issues surrounding the editing of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not affiliated with Facebook, you would need to contact them directly to get a new account. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:52, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notification says message was on talk page but it is not[edit]

Over at the teahouse I responded to a question, and got pinged when another editor mentioned my name. The notification says "Rubbish computer mentioned you on the Teahouse/Questions talk page in "Overlinking"." But, the message was not at Wikipedia_talk:Teahouse but on the normal questions page Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions. Why did the notification say the message was on the talk page? RudolfRed (talk) 01:32, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because the notification is worded to say that the message is on the talk page, because most messages that contain your name are on talk pages. The Teahouse questions page is a "talk" page in the generic sense that talk page guidelines apply to it, just as they do to this Help Desk. Talk page posts, for instance, should be signed, and may refer to previous posters. Article space edits, by contrast, are never signed, and do not refer to other posters, but only to the subject(s) of the article. That is probably why. Others have noticed this; it's been logged for the developers to look at. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:37, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing errors on Amin Investment Bank[edit]

Reference help requested.

Amin Investment Bank, --> cite error Thanks, Lotje (talk) 05:25, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed it. One of the reference definitions somehow went missing during your edit with the "reFill" tool. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:42, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not able to upload user photo in the page[edit]

User:G.Sebastin Raja — Preceding unsigned comment added by G.Sebastin Raja (talkcontribs) 07:18, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The images (same image actually) you do have there on your page in the template is the same as the one you tried to put in your gallery tags but only cropped. I would recommend removing the other ones since that just clutters up the space and you already have the one photo displaying properly. If you want, I can do this for you, but I'm wanting to get your ok first since it is your user page. RegistryKey(RegEdit) 07:54, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a new subject matter.[edit]

How does one go about adding a new subject matter to Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by L. Reno Hatton (talkcontribs) 11:48, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Your first article. New subject matter needs to be encyclopaedic, notable and referenced, AndyTheGrump (talk) 11:52, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And if you don't have a subject already in mind, see Wikipedia:Requested articles. Dismas|(talk) 19:42, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dice used as a calendar[edit]

I vaguely remember at school a teacher told us that a DICE used to be used as a CALENDAR !!..(If you look at the 6, directly underneath is a 1, adding up to 7 (7 days of the week))..and if you look at 3, directly underneath is a 4, and so on !!..Four corners, meaning the Four seasons !!..but the rest I cant remember !! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.122.148.99 (talk) 11:57, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Have you tried the Humanities section of Wikipedia's Reference Desk? They specialize in answering knowledge questions there; this help desk is only for questions about using Wikipedia. For your convenience, here is the link to post a question there: click here. I hope this helps. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:40, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What things are not on Wikipedia?[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to ask, what articles are not on Wikipedia? I tried many things, but they are all on Wiki. This is hard for new users like me, because when we try to write something new, it is already written about! I even tried Diprobase cream, but even THAT was written about! Please tell me! Thanks, Marshmallow 360 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.53.137.189 (talk) 17:28, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:Requested articles, and pick a subject that you are interested and then click on that to see the articles requested in that field. Note, creating articles and using the tools that help with that is easier if you register an account.Naraht (talk) 17:32, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
While there are already over 4 million articles that have been created leaving "new topics" somewhat difficult to find, there are 4 million articles (more or less) that are in crappy shape and need TLC to bring them up to "acceptable" - Click "random article" and its likely that there is something to keep you busy for the next week! then you only have 3,999,999 to go.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:54, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

uploading images[edit]

how can upload a picture to my sandbox — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morteza Ghassemieh (talkcontribs) 18:40, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Standard reply follows:
  • If you want to upload an image from your computer for use in an article, you must determine the proper license of the image (or whether it is in the public domain). If you know the image is public domain or copyrighted but under a suitable free-license, upload it to the Wikimedia Commons instead of here, so that all projects have access to the image (sign up). If you are unsure of the licensing status, see the file upload wizard for more information. Please also read Wikipedia's image use policy.
  • If you want to add an image that has already been uploaded to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, add [[File:File name.jpg|thumb|Caption text]] to the area of the article where you want the image to appear – replacing File name.jpg with the actual file name of the image, and Caption text with a short description of the image. See our picture tutorial for more information. I hope this helps.--ukexpat (talk) 19:00, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page archiving[edit]

Please could you help me with my talk page? There seems to be a massive buildup up messages despite there being archiving code at the top of the page. I need the archiving to be fixed as soon as possible. Pablothepenguin (talk) 19:44, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason you have put the archive code under it's own heading instead of at the top of the page as specified in the instructions. Remove the heading and wait for the bot to pass again. Nanonic (talk) 20:09, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Second question: Edits I recently made to Ninja Warrior UK suggest that I have rollback rights. I've checked and should not have these, yet there was a dialogue for rolling back a revision. please explain? Pablothepenguin (talk) 20:02, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You reverted these edits using the undo option, you did not use rollback. You do not have the 'rollbacker' right on your account. For more info on the difference between reverting using the undo function and the rollback tools, see Help:Reverting. Nanonic (talk) 20:09, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason, the page still won't archive. I've done as instructed above and still can't get rid of all the stuff on the page. Please help. Pablothepenguin (talk) 20:25, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've made an edit to the "User:MiszaBot/config" block - let's wait 24 hours to see if that was the problem. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:00, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot save Wikipedia Book[edit]

Hello,

Constructed a book that disappeared. So, tried to create a test book to see what went wrong. I used three articles to create a book. I followed the Help page directions to save my book. The application wont allow me to save. I have attached a print of the page in question (I guess that cannot be done, too bad). The "save" button is grayed out.

Thank you, Ron

@Kelleyrj14: Special:Contributions/Kelleyrj14 shows you saved a book after posting here so I guess you worked out the problem. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:32, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
