Stephen Mendel Actor[edit]

Hello, My name is Stephen Mendel. I am an actor. If one does a web search for my name, it comes up many times on the web in general and in many places as a cast member of any number of tv shows and movies on Wikipedia itself. I am a working actor having made my living at the craft for 38 years. I work in television, in films, on stage, and do a great deal of voice work. My work is ongoing. In recent times I have played recurring roles on Mad Men and have guest starred on Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, Allegiance and tomorrow morning I go to work on Revenge. I was on the CBS series Night Heat for 5 seasons/96 episodes. I do not have a publicist or anybody handling my public relations. It is up to me alone to promote myself. To that end I wrote and published on Wikipedia an article about my career. Someone decided to take it down. I wrote it again and referred this anonymous person to my extensive resume and the web references. This person removed my page again.

Today I had reason to look up the series I was on from 1985 t0 1990 and found my name in red which I discovered meant that a page about me does not exist. Would you please assist me in getting my page up and not having it removed by an anonymous contributor.

(edit conflict) Is Stephen Mendel the article you're referring to? If so, that was last deleted last year and the other time was a year before that. The most recent reason for deletion can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stephen Mendel. At the time of deletion the article did not meet WP:NOTABILITY and violated Wikipedia WP:COI and WP:NPOV policies. The article can only be recreated if the problems discussed in the Articles for deletion nomination are corrected. Note that Wikipedia requires subjects of articles to meet its notability policy and that, on its own, appearing in multiple shows or movies does not meet WP:NOTABILITY. Hello, Stephen. This is a frequent concern from performers and others in public life, but there is not much that can be done about it. Wikipedia is a project with its own purposes and goals, which explicitly do not include promotion of anybody or anything. We have strong rules about which of the things (and people) in the universe may have articles about them, and generally these rules come down to, Have several reliable sources (such as major newspapers, or books from reputable publishers), unconnected with the subject, already published substantial writing about the subject? If there have been substantial articles about you in major newspapers, then there may be a Wikipedia article about you - but you are strongly discouraged from editing such an article, and can do no more than make suggestions about it. If there are at present no such sources, then we cannot have an article about you at all. This may seem hard when you are concerned with your public persona and your presence on the net, but Wikipedia is not responsible for how people may interpret your appearance or non-appearance in its pages. --ColinFine (talk) 10:56, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Clear Lake Conservation Reserve was established to protect its provincially significant representation of old growth eastern hemlock upland forests, mature tolerant hardwood forest and a limnological complex

Additionally, it is an established long-term ecological research site with research potential to undertake palaeoecological investigations of a meromictic lake. Today, it is also recognized for its landscape level function connecting protected and enhanced management areas. Elements of biodiversity include: a significant representative pocket of ‘sparse coniferous forest on bedrock’; old growth hemlock, red pine, white pine and hard maple forest communities; and structural characteristics of mature/old growth stands. Clear Lake CR also in cludes important headwater areas, suitable habitat for species at risk (SAR), preferred habitat for area sensitive and provincially managed wildlife, and opportunities for ecologically sustainable traditional outdoor heritage activities. Its excellent condition as an undisturbed protected area and relatively remote character provide additional support for the above values and intact ecological integrity. Recent issues around trail development have highlighted the need to maintain ecological integrity of the CR.

Light refraction[edit]

I am trying to find out what color will you get if you place a red filter over a red object and have searched the internet trying to find out to no avail. @Boxy22: It will appear as red. The red filter only stops all non red components of the spectrum, it does not "cancel" red colour. White objects will appear red, as white has a red component. Hello, 117.202.35.55. It depends, and we could tell more if you told us which website you mean. All information from Wikipedia is required to come from reliable published sources; but whether a source is regarded as reliable is not always easy to determine. If your news site has a reputation for fact checking, then it is probably acceptable as a reliable source; but there are various kinds of site which are less likely to be treated as reliable. For example, if some of the content of the site is generated by users, without editorial control; or if the site is essentially a self-published site by people who are not known as journalists; or if the site often posts material which disagrees with most news sources (for example if it mainly advances fringe or conspiracy theories). You can always ask about the reliability of a site at the reliable sources noticeboard - but note that reliability may vary depending on what information is to be supported. (For example, a specialist magazine may be reliable for subjects connected with its area of interest, but not for other subjects).

As for whether you can use the information in Wikipedia: if your news site is considered reliable, you may add information referenced to your site to existing articles (and it there is unreferenced material in Wikipedia articles which you can reference from your site, that would be helpful). But don't start adding irrelevant information to articles just because it is in your website. Your connection with the site probably doesn't matter if you are adding relevant material that it sources to articles; but if it appears that you are doing it to promote your website, then this may be regarded as unconstructive. --ColinFine (talk) 14:58, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong redirect[edit]

I created new article with name " The Haryana Chess Association". However someone deleted and redirect "The Haryana Chess Association" To "Haryana Chess Association" . I see that both articles The Haryana Chess Association and Haryana Chess Association currently exist. If both are genuine, and if both are notable enough to warrant articles (both currently lack any indication of notability), then there is sure to be confusion, and some changes need to be made to them. Editing Chinas bid for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup[edit]

Hi there, when creating the article Chinas bid for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup I did a grammatical mistake when choosing the title. The correct headline for the article is "Chinese bid for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup". How can that be changed? Thank you in anticipation. A draft about a small group of people[edit]

Dear editors: There's a draft, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Eipomek about a group of people in Papua New Guinea. I don't know how to tell if this is a recognized "people" that should have an article, or if the information should be merged somewhere else. The name gets lots of Google hits, but I am not sure how to interpret the information. I tried posting at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Papua New Guinea, but it appears inactive. Can someone suggest another project whose members might take an interest?—Anne Delong (talk) 18:38, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A quick google search turns up plenty to support WP:GNG. You can even find reference in other Wikipedia articles such as Eipo language. There's a redlink in that article to the Eipo people which appears to be the same thing as the Eipomek. If you're looking for good sources to expand the article, you may find some there, but there's no reason to presume this topic is non-notable, as I can find gobs of reliable sources just by typing Eipomek into Google. I'm not an expert in anthropology or linguistics, but the question of "Should Wikipedia have an article about this people group" is unquestionably and emphatically "Yes". As far as looking for sources, perhaps there are more general Wikiprojects such as linguistics or anthropology that could help you weed through some of the sources and help you expand the article. --Jayron 32 19:35, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Complain[edit]

If there is an administrator account blocked my wikipedia account, how can I do ?

But somebody track my editing way again and again. like someone think me is a track spoiler.

I tried to fair write the wikipedia, but always have someone rewrite my editing and change the mess.

Safe space vs. Safe-space[edit]

I think both articles have handled the problem appropriately. The first article indicates that "Safe space" redirects there in a hatnote which links to the second article. I considered a hatnote in the second article but the first one is in the "See also" section, so that may be all that is needed.
