Apollo Automobil / Request Edit[edit]

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Bailey Xu, the brand and PR responsible for Apollo Automobil. The company had changed the Apollo logo/emblem, I have found out that the old incorrect one is still in use in the search engine result page, the new correct one is in the Wikipedia page. Therefore, would you kindly help us to change and apply the one from the Wiki page and replace the search engine one (google - apollo automobil - search result - wrong logo).

Thank you very much,

Bailey Xu Apollo Automobil [email redacted] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apollo automobil ltd (talkcontribs) 08:43, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done I've uploaded the new logo at File:Apollo Automobil logo.png, and the article Apollo Automobil should update automatically soon. Joseph2302 08:54, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The user was complaining about Google not Wikipedia where the image was OK, we have no control over where Google sources its images. So nothing we can do about the image although the user needs to be warned about editing the page as they appear to represent the company. MilborneOne (talk) 09:34, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, the official version on their site looked slightly different. Agree that we don't control Google, you'd have to contact Google about it. Joseph2302 09:59, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information, but Google's Knowledge Graph has a "Feedback" link where anyone can mark a field as wrong. Homotaurine[edit]

Homotaurine (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Hello I recently added an addition to Homotaurine as there has been new studies indicating it's use. I cited the Journal of Prevention of Alzheimer's Disease where the information was published. The editor noted "Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Jytdog (talk) 18:38, 3 November 2016 (UTC). I was pretty confident that the scholarly journal article i used was appropriate as advised by other wiki users in the past. Can someone please advise? DHeidtman (talk) 14:24, 5 November 2016 (UTC) 14:24, 5 November 2016 (UTC)DHeidtman (talk)[reply]

Please use a descriptive title in future questions. Pppery 14:30, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
DHeidtman: the citation you added was of a research paper. Particularly for a medical topic, citations of primary sources should be avoided as far as possible, secondary sources are much preferred. Maproom (talk) 16:51, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Opting out of Page Curation toolbar?[edit]

Hi all, now that NPP (NPR?) requires a perm (that I don't have), I'd like to remove the Page Curation toolbar rather than have to minimize it each time I come across an unreviewed page. Evidently I've forgotten how I switched it on in the first place, and I couldn't find an answer at Wikipedia:Page_Curation/Help#Curation_Toolbar, nor in Preferences (maybe the toolbar goes by another name I'm just not recognizing?) Ideas? Thanks! Innisfree987 (talk) 15:17, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Innisfree987: It works for me to click the right-arrow at the top and then the x at the top. PrimeHunter (talk) 15:41, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, works for me too--both on the page I was on and pulling up some other new pages, toolbar seems successfully disappeared. Thanks PrimeHunter! Innisfree987 (talk) 15:50, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Checking edits[edit]

I am a trusted user in the Hungarian Wikipedia which means my contributions can be immediately seen when I write something into an article in the main namespace. Can I see it well that here, every users' contributions can be seen by the readers? In the Hungarian wiki, the edits of beginners and unlogged users are invisible for readers until a "járőr" doesn't agree to make it public. This system is called "jelölt lapváltozatok". There's also a policy called Wikipedia:Trusted users here, but it seems to be an inactive/defunct/retired page.--Ruisza (talk) 17:17, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ruisza: Yes, that's generally right. A few articles are placed under pending changes protection, which causes edits by new users not to show up untill they are accepted. Pppery 17:20, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently errant comma[edit]

At Augusten Burroughs#Lawsuit over Running with Scissors, there is a pull quote at the top right of the section. The attribution for the quote says "— Augusten Burroughs on the Running with Scissors settlement," I can't figure out how to get rid of the comma (or convert it to a period). When I try to edit the section, I don't see a comma anywhere in the code. Would appreciate help with this, thanks! Safehaven86 (talk) 20:12, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Pppery 20:23, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery: Thanks so much! Safehaven86 (talk) 21:15, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What code should I put in my monobook.js file?[edit]

What code am I supposed to put in my monobook.js file? I know I haven't created it yet because I can't find the code to put in it. -Prahlad balaji (talk) 20:21, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It contains JavaScript which only runs in your account if you select the MonoBook skin at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering. User:Prahlad balaji/vector.js only runs in the Vector skin. User:Prahlad balaji/common.js runs in all skins. See Wikipedia:User scripts for some scripts made by others. Most of them probably work in all skins. Image bug (?)[edit]

Why is the image Flag of the Kingdom of France (1814-1830).svg in Bourbon Restoration not displayed?--Hubon (talk) 21:51, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Hubon: The file description page says it is a white flag. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:57, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thanks! Yet, in the French article, the depicted flag (Pavillon Louis XIV.png) contains a seal...--Hubon (talk) 22:06, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
