PDF reference help[edit]

I added a reference to Flashboard, but didn't get it quite right. It's a journal that is published online as a PDF. I have all the bibliographic info correct, but didn't get the url right. I don't have time to experiment with this right now, and there is some urgency since the article is at AFD. Could someone help out. Searching for "Lawrence Bragg's role in the development of sound-ranging in World War I" locates the article at several other websites besides the one I was trying to link. This page looks to be largely copied from page with copyright[edit]

I was doing a little copyediting on Rolf Gindorf when I realized that large chunks of it are lifted from his c.v. at www.sexologie.org. This was discussed on the talk page in 2006, but there has been no discussion at all since then (except for a note that I added). I don't think that the copied text can be removed without making the article unreadable and the article is largely unreferenced. I'm not interested right now in digging for sources in English to make it notable, but maybe someone else would be. He apparently has over 60 publications, and he and his partner sued for the right to marry in the German Supreme Court. What is the best way to proceed? VOTER'S ID[edit]

How come my wife's and my Voter's ID which I applied over five (5) years ago here in COMELEC office-City of Malolos are still not yet processed? what's taking the comelec to issue or process the said ID? There are a number of anomalies showing against various references. If you are referring to the larger red error message relating to ref name "upenn" this is because the ref name has been used (I.e <ref name=upenn/>) without it being tied to an actual reference. (I.e. <ref name=upenn>{{cite X|ref content}}</ref>). As it seems to be the only use of the ref name it may be redundant in any case. Just cite the ref. in standard fashion. Christianity in New Zealand[edit]

Christianity in New Zealand was introduced before the missionaries got there. The Bible society translated the Book of Luke into Maori. It was through a young girls death who had a copy it and the slave boy of the chief who killed her and took it. The slave boy could read English and read it to the tribe and from his chief believing and asking forgiveness it spread through the tribes. The missionaries were surprised to find that many of the Maori were Christians when they got there. Unlike Orangemike, I suspect that you are indeed referring to a problem with a Wikipedia article, Christianity in New Zealand. The place to bring up suggestions for improvement is that article's talk page Talk:Christianity in New Zealand. But please note that Wikipedia requires sources published in reliable places. I see that this supports what you say. Deleting a Page - Request from PR Officer[edit]

I am the author of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staffordshire_and_West_Midlands_(North_Sector)_Army_Cadet_Force .

I require this page deleting due to serious security breaches to the Army Cadet Force organisation as result of its creation. As the author, I have the right to request deletion. I have made a mistake and I have been told by those in authority over me that I am to get this page removed ASAP as it also breaches Online Safety Policy.

@Ah1997: - For the future, you need to be aware that you don't as an author automatically have the right to have your contributions removed. The conditions (just below the edit window) under which you made your contributions say "By saving changes, you agree to the Terms of Use, and you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL.". WWII Philippine Army Divisions[edit]

Hello. I am creating new articles on WWII Philippine Army Divisions. I want to use the small box template titled US Regiments (I have left off the template brackets), but would simply like to hide the name "US Regiments" and visually replace it with "1941-42 Philippine Army Divisions"---either by copying and creating a duplicate template that simply has a different name, or by some other means in my code allowing a different title to be displayed. Here is the original template code:

I am new at learning your code, navigating your help pages, and I don't know how to create a new template, or to edit the US Regiments one to make a different title be displayed (i.e. "1941-42 Philippine Army Divisions"). Hello, Mluklu7. That is a template called {{US Regiments}}, which, unsurprisingly, has the title built in. What you would need to do is create a new template called Template:1941-42 Philippine Army Divisions. You can create this - if you pick that red-link, it will let you create it; and then if you go to Template:US Regiments, and pick "edit source", you can copy the whole source of the template to the clipboard, and then paste it into your new one, and change what needs to be changed. Make sure that in your edit summary you say where you copied it from, according to WP:Copying within Wikipedia. --ColinFine (talk) 19:56, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alexander Graham Bell[edit]

I asked for help at Talk:Alexander Graham Bell to remove some meaningless words, but the responding editor told me I had to obtain consensus for it. Would you please fulfill the request and tell the responding editor to be less bureaucratic? My entire request was "Please remove "Margaret Ottaway" from the top of the "Canada" section, or explain what it's doing there. It looks like an actress' name, like you'd put in The Story of Alexander Graham Bell, such as "Bell meets his sister-in-law Caroline (Margaret Ottaway) in the next scene" to indicate that Ottaway was playing the character of Caroline." 208.95.51.115 (talk) 16:39, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It does look at first sight as though it doesn't belong there, but it may be a pseudonym used by 'Caroline', but this is not clear from the text. Agreement on changes (often quite small ones) is how Wikipedia works generally. Eagleash (talk) 16:48, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template out of date[edit]

Template:Gutenberg author uses an old link format. Can it be fixed? The code in Henry Bibb is {{Gutenberg author |id=Bibb,+Henry | name=Henry Bibb}}, but the link that it produces, https://www.gutenberg.org/author/Bibb,+Henry, no longer works. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/author/6033 is now the right link. Need help with formatting[edit]

Hello, I'm trying to fix a formatting issue at The Homosexual Matrix. In the "online articles" section of the bibliography, two references (Lynch 1976 and Lynch 1977) have a red bot notice next to them stating "Check date values in". This is because the references are to a magazine that had a bimonthly format to describe its date (March/April 1976 in the first case, and July/August 1977 in the second case).
