Too many Firefox version history charts[edit]

I have a problem. Lately, it seems that Rukario-sama keeps moving the Firefox version history chart from the History of Firefox article to the Firefox version history article and making a lot of duplicate reference links while breaking the References section. I mean, this is not right. Why does the "Firefox version history" article have too many version history charts?! Converting money to 2015 prices[edit]

As an American I'm not familiar with British money, but would like to convert two shillings and sixpence British money of 1751 Colonial America to what it is equal to in 2015 dollars. Apparently there is a template that will convert this - not familiar with it. I want to use that template in the last line of an article I am upgrading to GA = Experiments_and_Observations_on_Electricity#Background. Doug Coldwell, I think Template:Inflation#Currency_conversion says that the template you are looking for does not exist. It might be that the doc is outdated though, so if you know of another template, please link it.

That link also provides a workaround, but you need to know the conversion factor between the two. Finally, I am not sure the inflation template has series going back to 1751, and the reason may be more complex than the template maintainers being lazy (I doubt inflation measurements with modern methodology are available for that time period). You are right that the template does not do currency conversion, but according to its documentation page, it is valid as far back as 1209 for British currency (not American though for obvious reasons). SpinningSpark 15:40, 2 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Such conversions are by nature imprecise. The price of a loaf of bread varies between brands in the same store for example. You should be close enough by running the inflation in british pounds, then a quick google conversion between today's pounds and today's dollars. Legacypac (talk) 19:59, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

saudi arabia information need to be changed[edit]

Dear Sir, this Abdullah Alothman, I am CIO in Ministry of Culture and Information in Saudi Arabia. the Ministry are the only source of information about Saudi. I have came across Saudi Arabia Page in your wikipedia and found few things need to be changed. I have tried to edit but its been locked. we would like to change incorrect information and proved you will all official information about Saudi and its culture.

Hello, Dr Alothman. I'm afraid Wikipedia does not agree that the Ministry are the only source of information about Saudi. On the contrary, the principle applies to countries as much as to any other organisation, that Wikipedia has very little interest in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about itself, and is only interested in what independent people have published about the subject, in reliable organs. As others have said, you are welcome to make suggestions on the article's talk page for how it may be improved; but it is up to impartial editors to decide how far to accept your suggestions. --ColinFine (talk) 16:18, 2 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Scanned Images[edit]

I have a print of a formal portrait that I want to use for an Infobox. The image is from the family collection and it was taken sometime in the 1960's. MickieB, in the future, ask this kind of question at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, but here goes.

The image could be uploaded either on Wikimedia Commons if it can be released as public domain or under a suitable license. If not, it may still satisfy the non-free content criteria, and can be uploaded on Wikipedia (but not on Commons). Let us analyze the first possibility.

First thing to determine is whether the image has become public domain. I am also going to assuming the photograph was taken in the United States (by your contributions, I guess it is one of Robert E. Bourdeau). This could be the case if no copyright notice was included. If a copyright notice was included, the copyright is still running for some time in all cases, and you need permission from the copyright holder to release it.

If the photograph was work-for-hire, which sounds probable but I am not sure, the customer retains the rights - if this is from your family and you own the physical photograph by inheritance, you have the copyrights. Otherwise, the original copyright was with the studio, and just because it does not exist anymore does not mean the copyright disappeared; so in that case, no, you cannot upload it on Commons.
