How to find my book in Wikipedia

[edit]

Once I was searching for content in Wikipedia and the option "Create a Book" appeared to me. It was a resource in which I could save many pages, then I saved some pages related to the subject I was researching in it. But now I can't find this "book" that I created. How do I find it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luiszucchi (talkcontribs)

DOUBLE JEOPARDY

[edit]

is "DOUBLE JEOPARDY" a common practice when "RESTRICTING" users ie: Facebook Jail ? I would like to speak with someone about this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ponyboy325 (talkcontribs) 00:38, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ponyboy325: This is the Wikipedia Help Desk, which is for help using Wikipedia. This site. Not some other site, like Facebook. Ian.thomson (talk) 00:39, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ponyboy325, consider asking your question at the Reference Desk. You might want to be more specific, too. — Newslinger talk 15:44, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
He could mean "When users are blocked on Wikipedia, does double jeopardy apply?" TeraTIX 06:20, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not happy with the Anti-conservative wiki posts

[edit]

Looks like a lot of anti-conservative Jargon on your pages. Are you trying to spin this site to be liberal? Alt-right Far-right etc but on Dems pages there isn't any words about the Socialist Dems, Anti-Semitic dems, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.241.151 (talkcontribs)

What are you talking about? There is no such thing as "wiki posts".
There's quite a bit in articles like Democratic Socialists of America, Social Democrats USA and other places about social democracy and the Democratic Party (United States). I don't know what you mean about "Anti-Semitic dems", since there are no organizations of such people, just as there are no organizations of pedophile Republicans or scatophile Libertarians. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:37, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What no logo For MLB All Star 2019 Where are the colors and the Logo. 68.103.78.155 (talk) 02:47, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you can see the logo at Major League Baseball; there's no mandatory need for logos to be included in subsidiary articles like 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. You can read Wikipedia:Logos#Editorial concerns for more commentary on this. At the same time, if you feel very strongly about the inclusion of the logo, you can take it up at Talk:2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game by opening a new section. Warmly, Lourdes 05:10, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The logo is copyrighted, and so using it on all pages would likely be a violation of the fair use policy. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:44, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Autoconfirmed

[edit]

I clicked on help desk and i need help. Are my edits reviewed after I click the blue button, or are they are seen right away??. — Preceding unsigned comment added by THEFlint Shrubwood (talkcontribs) 07:44, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If the page is pending changes protected and you are not autoconfirmed, the edit will not immediately be seen until a pending changes reviewer accept it. Else they are seen right away, no need to be reviewed. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 07:47, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The edits that you have made up to now are all live and seen immediately. Keep up the good work, and you will be WP:Autoconfirmed in three days. I took the liberty of adding a subject heading here. Hope you don't mind. Dbfirs 08:05, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd like to suggest a change to the article Mahatma Gandhi, please do so at Talk:Mahatma Gandhi. If people have to phone you in order to understand what you are saying, they will not phone you, and indeed they will ignore you. Therefore write persuasively. -- Hoary (talk) 12:48, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
 • Hello IP, as Hoary correctly said, this discussion belongs to the talk page of the article, not here. Having said that, I've checked the article and there is no sentence that mentions "Mahatma Gandhi gave independence to India". The article, rightly so and with appropriate references, does mention that Gandhi "led" the independence movement. So I don't think there is any issue here. Lourdes 17:23, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Search by infobox parameter?

[edit]

Is there a way to filter a list like this one down to only the transclusions that include a particular parameter in the infobox? The infobox is transcluded more than a thousand times, but I only need the ones that utilize the "arrests" parameter, which...wild guess...is only probably about a third of them. GMGtalk 13:35, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

More like a fifth according to this search.

John Lear

[edit]

Please list John Lear. He has many world records and he deserves it. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1:c532:1dd:15f4:272c:4b0b:566c (talkcontribs) 5 August 2018 21:17 (UTC)

You'll have to provide more information / context. Eagleash (talk) 21:43, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
From websearching, evidently an experienced airline pilot with a background of other aviation activities, and holder of 17 world speed records set using a Learjet, so potentially a notable subject, though his recent promotion of UFO-related beliefs would need careful handling. Being the son of Bill Lear, head of the company that designed said aircraft, a Wikipedia search of "John Lear" redirects to the Bill Lear article in which he (as "John Olson Lear") gets a bare mention. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.208.173.225 (talk) 03:35, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'll assume for now that Lear is the pilot. First, find independent, reliable sources about him. Then go to Wikipedia:Requested articles/Biography/By profession. There's no obvious place within it for pilots. Therefore take the link in the list of contents to "Physicists". Click the link to edit this. Leave it as it is, but append the following to it:
Pilots
*John Lear (currently redirects to Bill Lear), ...
and replace "..." in the above with a brief description of him and links to those independent, reliable sources for this. -- Hoary (talk) 06:52, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Daily Counter

[edit]

How do you add a daily counter to a talk page header? Example, Global Warming talk. prokaryotes (talk) 22:02, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Prokaryotes: Talk:Global warming has the code: . It uses . There may be performance issues if a lot of pages use it. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:27, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, oh really, hmmm, so I thought it would be interesting to see stats on some key issues evolving around global warming. Do you think it would be okay to add stats to a few minor pages? prokaryotes (talk) 23:49, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's OK. If it's for yourself then note that "Page information" in the left pane shows "Page views in the past 30 days", with a graph if you click the number. User:PrimeHunter/Pageviews.js adds a "Page views" link to pages, e.g. to [1] for Global Warming. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:10, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
How do I add this hack? :) prokaryotes (talk) 00:25, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Which hack? If you mean User:PrimeHunter/Pageviews.js then it has instructions. To use the script, add the following line to Special:MyPage/common.js:
importScript('User:PrimeHunter/Pageviews.js'); // Linkback: User:PrimeHunter/Pageviews.js
PrimeHunter (talk) 00:55, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've added it now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Prokaryotes/common.js but i don't see any numbers on the left standard sidebar when navigating to article space? prokaryotes (talk) 00:58, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, I have to click that link! Thank You, works now! Cheers prokaryotes (talk) 00:59, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! prokaryotes (talk) 01:00, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
My Wikipedia experience is now forever changed by PrimeHunters coding skills :) prokaryotes (talk) 01:01, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
