December 26[edit]

Can somebody please add the release dates for Germany and Australia, December 8, 1997, on the release history table? The format should be CD and cassette and the source is this ([1]). It's the original release date and it's not in the release history table, I would do it myself but I don't know how to edit wikitables.

Done. I've added them to the article with the source you provided. I can't access the book but I trust your saying that it supports the release date info. Thank you for helping contribute to Wikipedia! Of course, if you have any more questions or need assistance don't hesitate to ask.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 05:22, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.156.3.171 (talk) 05:31, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; thanks for correcting the typo I made, for some reason I had Austria in my head even though you put Australia. In the future, when you make posts, add the coding ~~~~ (four tildes) to the end of them. After you save the edit or show preview, these tildes will be replied with your IP address and links to your contributions and talk page; this way we can tell who actually made the post. :)--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 14:28, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies in article[edit]

There is an article about me on wikipedia which needs editing and updating:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafey_Habib

The last time I tried to do this, I was told that everything was incorrectly formatted.

If I provide you with the appropriate text, could you please upload it for me?

Also, can you please tell me what you mean by "additional citations or verification"? For example, if I have published a book, what more evidence can I give than that the book is available on amazon and elsewhere?

I would be grateful if you could alert me to your response by emailing me at: mhabib@rutgers.edu

I would very much appreciate your help.

Kind regards, Dr. M.A.R. Habib. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.96.117.160 (talk) 08:23, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dr Habib. Generally, what you should do is to make an edit request on the talk page of the article, preferably with citations to reliably published sources for any information you wish to include. You are welcome to suggest the text to be used, but it will be up to an uninvolved editor to decide what changes are actually made. Please see WP:AUTOPROB for more information. --ColinFine (talk) 11:25, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Referring someone with his previous username[edit]

I have recently changed my user name. Some fellow editors, keep calling me by my previous name which is a little bit frustrating for me. Another editor informed them that referring to an editor with his previous name, is not allowed by WP policies. But as he did not provide a link to the specific policy, I would like to ask you guys if you know whether it is actually written down. Thanks Cinadon36 (talk) 09:29, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

They could be referring to WP:OUTING(though that usually refers to revealing personal, real life information about a user), although if you simply changed your username(not as a clean start) it is a good practice to identify your prior username on your user page to avoid accusations of sockpuppetry. However, that does not mean that other users should use your prior name to refer to you. You could certainly politely request that anyone who refers to your prior name stop and use your current one. 331dot (talk) 09:47, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Just to note Cinadon36 that your "Please feel free to message me" link on your user page still points to your previous username. MilborneOne (talk) 09:51, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

sorry I did not write anything about the Nativity of Our Lord[edit]

sorry no it must have been an intruder would love you would mention Inez Deborah Emilia Altar as the source for modern human parthenogenesis, OK — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.137.210.164 (talk) 17:05, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! IP addresses can be shared by different people so do not worry about any messages on your talk page which are not about you. Your edit here to Parthenogenesis was undone presumably because you did not cite any sources. Wikipedia needs reliable sources to be referenced for every fact we include in our articles. Cappas is the author of several books available at Amazon.com and Buffalolatinovillage.com. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.181.225.250 (talk) 19:40, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, lists on Wikipedia typically only include persons for whom the encyclopedia contains a page. See WP:WTAF. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 20:16, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dove Smith[edit]

Probably a troll
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Could you please create an article about me? Is there any page free for me to use that is okay for you guys to write about me. That's all I want! I don't want to die without being remembered! Please?!213.205.242.207 (talk) 22:48, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dove Smith[edit]

I am requesting that an article should be created about me Dove Smith. 213.205.242.207 (talk) 22:53, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

But y tho? Ian.thomson (talk) 22:53, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please create the Dove Smith article. I will give you the info about me. 213.205.242.207 (talk) 22:55, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:AUTO. Also, read WP:YFA about sources needed for an article. Demanding other people create an article for you won't work unless you're notable enough. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:58, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About Dove Smith[edit]

Dove Rose Smith (born 8 November 1999) is an English author, illustrator and an LGBT rights activist. 213.205.242.207 (talk) 22:58, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, an article about you is not necessarily a good thing, it would be a bad idea for you to try to work on it, and you wouldn't own the article (we would).
Wikipedia is not the phone book, Wikipedia is not a social media site -- you're not entitled to a page.
That said, if there are professionally-published mainstream academic or journalistic sources that provide in-depth coverage specifically and primarily about you, someone else could write an article about you (and probably will eventually). Ian.thomson (talk) 22:59, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I want an article about myself.[edit]

Can you help me become notable? 213.205.242.207 (talk) 23:00, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's not our job. Last warning, stop spamming requests for an article. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:01, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting error[edit]

Hi, I just found a strange formatting error here [1] that I can't make heads or tails of. About 400 characters are strung in a vertical column. Wondering if anybody has a fix? Hamster Sandwich (talk) 23:35, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Probably already repaired by Eaglesh (although I couldn't see the issue in the previous version too). Lourdes 03:14, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
TY. I didn't see anything weird in the edit box when I tried to fix it. If it's fixed I'd like to know what the issue was. Thanks again, Hamster Sandwich (talk) 03:27, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I could see nothing untoward in the 'source' either. I fixed one minor, unrelated, thing and hoped another editor would be able to see the issue, whatever it was. Eagleash (talk) 05:39, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
