Broken Link on Honeymoon destination[edit]

Hello @Hakimbo78:, and welcome to Wikipedia. I have reverted your change in Linda Britten: such external links to personal blogs, forums and similar websites are generally not suitable for Wikipedia. Hello. Wikipedia is not social media to just post your biography. This is an encyclopedia, where article subjects must be shown with independent reliable sources to be notable. Further, writing about yourself is strongly discouraged, please see WP:AUTO. If you just want to tell the world about yourself, you should use actual social media or a blog to do so. Cannot change my organization's wikiprofile.org homepage link[edit]

Hi! Is it possible to change my organization's wikiprofile (http://wikiprofile.org/wiki/BrandBox)? The link to homepage have been changed from .com to .lv . I am new at the company and nobody knows the password for the profile.

This is the help desk for the English version of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not associated in any way with Wikiprofile. Wikiprofile uses the same free Wikimedia software as we do, and it links to Wikipedia a lot, but that's all. Image from a company[edit]

Hello, I am creating a page about a company and am unsure how to use the image. I wrote the company and said I am creating a Wikipedia page about them and they have given me the green light for image use. However, I'm unsure how to go about this, i.e. how to label and credit it, or if they need to upload the image(s) on Wikipedia Commons? Hello, IP user. In general, permission to use an image on Wikipdia is not enough. Images uploaded to Commons must be either public domain, or specifically licensed (by the copyright holder) with a licence such as CC-BY-SA, which allows anybody to reuse the image for any purpose, commercial or not, as long as they attribute the source. Understandably, companies are not necessarily willing to license their images that way, though it depends on the company, and what the image shows.

However, if you are talking about a company logo, then it is very likely that Wikipedia will allow the image to be used under its "fair use" rules: the use must meet all the criteria in the non-free content criteria. As a separate issue, please make yourself aware of our notability policy: see WP:NOTABLE and WP:NCORP in particular. How to fix incorrect sorting in a table that uses templates (instead of numbers) to calculate a value[edit]

What can I do to fix the incorrect sorting in the following table? The "age" is not entered as a number. Rather, it is calculated by a Wikipedia template. Here is the table:

@Joseph A. Spadaro: The edit [1] is in the page history. It inserted the attribute data-sort-type="number" in the column header per Help:Sorting#Forcing a column to have a particular data type. It often requires much more to get a column to sort in the wanted way. Your original sorting didn't fail because a template was used but because the cells contained both numbers and words. This usually causes alphabetical sorting where "1" always comes before "9", also when it's part of numbers with a different number of digits like 100 and 94. The below table uses no templates. It does not have data-sort-type="number" so the first column sorts alphabetically while the second sorts numerically because it only has numbers. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:41, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Archive.org[edit]

Does anyone else have problems with archive.org at the moment? Take Deir Ibzi, the sentence "In 1838 it was noted as Deir Bezi'a, a Muslim village, located in the Beni Harith region, north of Jerusalem" has two sources; if you click on the first it is correct, but when you click on the second, you will get the first reference again...unless you log out and clear your cookies. I guess what I am asking is the archive.org system wrong...or is my computer failing? Huldra (talk) 22:49, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Huldra: The links are https://archive.org/stream/biblicalresearch03robiuoft#page/124/mode/1up and https://archive.org/stream/biblicalresearch03robiuoft#page/n83/mode/1up. I don't know this archive.org feature but it apparently remembers which page you last read and redirects you there no matter which link you click. If you start at one of the links and flip a few pages then this becomes the new destination for all links to that document. An easier workaround for me is to copy-paste the url in a link to the address bar when you are already looking at a page in the document. In this case archive.org will respect the url and not redirect you back to the page you were already on. You can also modify the url manually. I don't know whether we can put something in the url which disables the redirect feature for clicks. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:49, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@PrimeHunter: Thanks, but for me archive will redirect me to the first page, even when I copy and paste the link. Also, this is a new feature in archive.org, it never was like this before.
