Rogue Page changes[edit]

We have a Wikipedia page that is constantly being changed by someone (maybe a disgruntled ex employee?) All the information we are loading is factual and supported, in many cases, several times over. This “person” virtually trolls the page and removes posts within hours of updates. How can we stop this from happening? Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.31.71.58 (talk) 15:34, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Who are "we"? And what Wikipedia article is this about? Maproom (talk) 16:11, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please note, IP user, that "We have a Wikipedia page" is automatically false. Nobody in the world "has" a Wikipedia page. Wikipedia may have a page about you, but it is not your page to control: see WP:OWN and WP:COI. It might indeed be that the person removing the information is vandalising; or it might be that the information you are adding is not cited to a reliable published source (in which case anybody in the world may remove it); or it might be that it is accurate and verifiable, but that that editor does not think that it is encyclopaedic, in which case they are entitled to remove it, and your appropriate action is to discuss it on the talk page: see WP:BRD. In any case, if they are "constantly changing" it, this implies that you are reinserting it without discussing the matter first: if so, then both of you are edit warring, and should stop immediately. In any case, as Maproom says, we cannot pursue this further unless you tell us which of our five million articles this concerns. --ColinFine (talk) 17:37, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New pages are NOINDEXed until either they get patrolled through New page patrol (where there is currently a queue of over 3000 pages) or they reach 90 days old. You ought to remove the misplaced external links from the article text, and bring the formatting into line with the Manual of Style. --David Biddulph (talk) 17:36, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Before you do any other fixups, please immediately add citations to multiple reliable sources (WP:RS) to support your assertion that the subject is notable (WP:NOTABLE). Otherwise, your article may be deleted. I suspect, based on my very short look at the article, that this will be relatively easy, and it's even possible that some of your existing references suffice, but that is not clear as your somewhat unconventional reference formatting did not allow me to figure out if they meet the standard for a reliable source. I strongly recommend that you find articles in major national or international newspapers or news web sites. Once you have verifiable notability, you and others can improve the formatting at your leisure without the pressure of a deletion review. Thanks for the article and good luck with your improvements. -Arch dude (talk) 19:02, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

BIO[edit]

doesn't seem to be a question

Describing yourself maybe sometimes tricky because you know yourself so much, to the extent that you may end up writing lots of things about yourself. Placing that aside, my name is Gurwinder Sidhu. I’m 20 and was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Actually, for now, I stay in Canada as I pursue my education.

As any other human being can be, I have a father named Lakhvir Singh and mum whose name am not ashamed to say it loudly Manjit Kaur. My interest in music started in my early ages, passion, and power drove me towards achieving my long desire in the music industry and YouTube. Before coming up with the best version of your song, you go through some challenges but what stands is the enthusiasm in me as I drove the wheels even further to make sure all goes well.

My first song sound like a joke in the ears of my parents but all that was a reality. With passion in composing the songs in Punjabi, there came my first song Dillan vich shade “ which is translated to jealousy in the Punjabi music industry. I made this song with Ravi Warraich and Ekam Bhinder. Apart from music and all related field am also running a red, black records Punjabi music label company. The company will see young, ambitious and talented artist compose and record their songs without any difficulties.

Without forgetting myself, the company will help me grow in my music career as I am increasing to different levels. My dream is to study music and explore the world. I love everything associated with this country, and I hope that in the future, I will learn will be an epitome to be emulated. My main aim will be to mentor people in joining the industry. Music is everything and listening to it makes you feel complete and stress-free.

Did you have a question about how to use or edit Wikipedia? --David Biddulph (talk) 18:29, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
How long does it take to come in google ? Please help me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Natalie943 (talkcontribs) 19:40, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
How long does it take what to come in Google? If you were thinking of writing an autobiography without any evidence of notability then the answer is never, as it would be deleted. If you were to write a new article on a notable subject, the criteria are at WP:NOINDEX, so not more than 90 days after publication of the article. --David Biddulph (talk) 20:08, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen Hawking[edit]

Stephen Hawking was appointed in 2016 Honorary Professor of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands). Template Redirects[edit]

Hello again - apologies for the multiple questions in quick succession

I am currently amending the template that was created with the help on the helpdesk earlier. Part of this requires redirects, which I only know how to do for mainspace articles

How do I create a template page that I can then redirect?

Nosebagbear (talk) 21:21, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Same way you'd create any other page. If you wanted to create {{Deep link}} as a redirect to {{Deep link needed}}, just go to that redlink and use #REDIRECT [[Template:Deep link needed]]. Primefac (talk) 21:30, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
