Gameplay source

[edit]

In a video game's 'Gameplay' section, is it possible to cite the in-game tutorial? If so, how? —107.15.157.44 (talk) 00:07, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You can use {{cite video game}} to cite the videogame itself, but it's also possible to cite reviews of the game as sources for gameplay. See Super Mario Galaxy for an example. TeraTIX 00:20, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks! Will check out your links. 107.15.157.44 (talk) 00:38, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tango Café

[edit]

How is a small, neighborhood coffee shop like Tango Café, which wasn't even in business that long, notable? The article only has a handful of edits; most of them by the person who created it in 2013. If someone knows how to suggest an article for deletion, I think this would be a good candidate. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:A85E:80D4:F289:EB3F (talk) 04:58, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's been nominated for deletion by Orange Mike: discuss here. TeraTIX 05:20, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@RHcosm: If this is about this edit count tool, there's a "Feedback" link at the bottom which takes you here. I see that someone has reported a similar issue. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:34, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
John of Reading Thank you so much for the help. 😊😊--RHcosm (talk) 13:57, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

here are two articles about the same person, KO Stetter is new. I am not experienced enough in the English WP to proceed. --Cholo Aleman (talk) 08:46, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cholo Aleman I've redirected Karl Otto Stetter to Karl Stetter, so people searching for his fullname will find the correct, original article. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:20, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Message That I Received Today

[edit]

Greetings:

I noticed that Wikipedia sent a message to me today. When I clicked the hyperlink it indicated that it was supposedly from August 2018.

I visit Wikipedia almost daily and today was the first time I noticed the message. The message indicated that edits I made to "Henry Salt (Egyptologist)" were removed. I have no idea as to why I received this mesage because I have never visited that page, let alone made any changes to it.

Please inform. Thank you.

I love Wikipedia and its usefulness is the reason that I financially support it when Wikipedia has its annual donation drive. Thank you for creating/maintaining an awesome WWW site!

Today your Internet connection must have gotten an IP address which has been used by others. This is common. The post at User talk:98.160.126.44#August 2018 also says: "If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices."
The box at the bottom says: "This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address." Writing an article

[edit]

hi, I am abinash Kumar pandit related Bollywood art director. how to list my name in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abinash kumar pandit (talkcontribs) 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello Abinash kumar pandit! I'd suggest that you read WP:YOURSELF and WP:NOT. In short, Wikipedia isn't the place to write about oneself; it is an encyclopedia with a collection of topics that meet our strict notability criteria. Autobiographies are strongly discouraged because almost all are non-notable, they are hard to write from a neutral point of view, and most importantly, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and is therefore simply not the place to publicize yourself. However, if you were to write an article about somebody, you can use the WP:Article Wizard, where you can develop the article as a draft, submit it for review once it clearly meets our notability guidelines and is written decently (e.g. not promotional), and an Articles for Creation reviewer will either decline or accept it. Let me know if you have any questions! Cheers, --SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 13:39, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need help reviewing the article

[edit]

How to find a participant who has the opportunity to review my article on the possibility of move to the main space. Aspireforintelligence (talk) 16:39, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Aspireforintelligence, when a AFC reviewer accepts, declines or comments on your draft, you'll be notified. There is a backlog at AFC so be patient. If you have any more questions, see the AFC help desk. Good luck JC7V-talk 20:53, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello JC7V7DC5768! Thank you very much! Maybe will you have the opportunity to assess the notability of the article? Aspireforintelligence (talk) 21:13, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Aspireforintelligence: Please don't try to 'jump the queue' by asking here for the page to be reviewed. As noted above, there are a large number of articles awaiting attention and you will just have to be patient I'm afraid. Eagleash (talk) 21:30, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I just wanted to rate my article. Thank you for your comment. Aspireforintelligence (talk) 22:09, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've informed the previous reviewer of your draft to review it again, but I can't make any promises. In the mean time, you can continue to work on your draft. Cheers. JC7V-talk 21:37, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! Aspireforintelligence (talk) 22:09, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I make it a general, but not immutable, rule to only review Drafts once. This is to avoid potential bias and it allows other experienced editors to take a view. I am deeply concerned about this article, not least because of the extensive forum shopping being employed to try and get it into mainspace with postings to Prehse , to Portal talk:Martial Arts, to RHaworth and Portal Talk:Books. This is unacceptable behaviour and dissuades me from having any further input into the Draft. This smacks of paid editing and using Wikipedia for promotion and I wish to have nothing further to do with it.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:39, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I do not ask to move the article, I only ask to give an assessment of my work. And i do not get reimbursed and/or paid in any form for my articles in Wikipedia. Aspireforintelligence (talk) 16:49, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Book "Non-compromised pendulum" definitely has Notability. Six reviews by various martial arts experts and frequent media coverage in various countries on a long time. But moving this article from draft is protected.-AlinaGusewa (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
