March 6[edit]

for clarification[edit]

I put a clarification in:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachael_Price

curprev 20:33, 27 February 2020‎ Vmavanti talk contribs‎ 7,973 bytes -122‎ Undid revision 942936578 by Thoughtmatters (talk) Please see Wikipedia documentation for how to do such things, thanks undothank Tag: Undo

curprev 20:16, 27 February 2020‎ Thoughtmatters talk contribs‎ m 8,095 bytes +122‎ Undid undo. It is necessary since both individuals have very similar name and same occupation. If you feel it's in wrong place, please move it. Thanks. undo Tag: Undo

and twice had it removed by Vmavanti, a longtime contributor. I am only an occasional corrector and do not wish to become a Wikipedia expert right now. I just want the correction/clarification in the article. Can someone direct me to what Vmavanti refers to in Wikipedia documentation?, or simply move the clarification to adhere to Wikipedia standards? Thanks.

Thoughtmatters (talk) 21:26, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see a reason to provide any clarification. The Rachel Price that you keep mentioning is quite different from the Rachael Price that we have an article for. When we have an article on Rachel Price, then we can add a disambiguation tag at the top of the article. But until then, I don't see a reason for pointing out a different person who doesn't seem notable enough for an article here at Wikipedia just yet. †dismas†|(talk) 22:20, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Thoughtmatters: There are at least twenty people in the United States named "Rachael Price" or "Rachel Price". Only one of them has a Wikipedia article. We do not "clarify" this for any of those people. We add hatnotes or or other disambiguation only when there are multiple people of the sane name with Wikipedia articles. -Arch dude (talk) 23:51, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Hatnote explains how we do it but we only do anything when a subject is mentioned in another Wikipedia article a reader may be looking for. A hatnote should always link a Wikipedia page and never an external website. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:02, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Restore Wikipedia[edit]

Hey, there One of my client's who is an author, his Wikipedia page was active until someone mishandled it. Now it is under draft. Need an assist on this because he is a reputed person in the country with Highest citizen award nomination in 2019. Kindly look into the matter so that we can speed up the process. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quaff.ads (talkcontribs) 11:13, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quaff.ads There are no other edits associated with your account other than the above, so I can't look at the draft without knowing what it is. In addition, you will need to read and formally comply with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. 331dot (talk) 11:15, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Quaff.ads is now indefinitely blocked. Maproom (talk) 12:47, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

how do I create my wikipedia page[edit]

how do I create my wikipedia page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brad roe (talkcontribs) 18:05, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Brad roe, if you are wanting to write an autobiography, please don't. Have a read of Wikipedia:Autobiography; We have encyclopedic articles here, that have to be based solely on what reliable sources have published, and it is very difficult to do this about yourself. Additionally, even if they were to be able to write about themselves in accordance with all policies and norms, most people aren't notable enough to have an article. Our inclusion criteria is that any subject must have recieved significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the topic, which most people haven't. ~~ Alex Noble - talk 18:09, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Brad roe: If you are instead thinking about a user page, see WP:USERPAGE. That's your page for interacting with other Wikipedia editors as you help us build the biggest and best encyclopedia on earth. -Arch dude (talk)
Brad roe, it's clear from what you wrote in your sandbox (but now is deleted) that you wanted to create a CV. If you still want to do this, then give up, because any attempt will be deleted. This is an encyclopedia, not a jobs-wanted or similar web service. (Incidentally, you may misunderstand Arch dude's post immediately above as saying that you can post a CV on your user page. You cannot.) -- Hoary (talk) 03:56, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

My Wikipedia Page is not showing in Google Search Results[edit]

Hello Team,

My newly created wiki page is not showing in Google Search Results.

Could you please tell me why ?

Regards, Dipti Vyas — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srscab34 (talkcontribs) 18:07, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Srscab34, pages are only indexed by search engines once they have been reviewed by a new page reviewer, or once 90 days have passed without review. ~~ Alex Noble - talk 18:11, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Srscab34 You have edited your user page, which is not article space and not indexed by search engines. It is a place for you to introduce yourself to the Wikipedia community in the context of your Wikipedia use.
To create an article, you should use the Articles for Creation process. However, your username tells me that you are associated with the company you are writing about. Please read about conflict of interest and paid editing as you have some required disclosures to make. You should also change your username to be more individualistic at Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Please also review Your First Article as successfully writing a new article (not just a mere "page") is the hardest task to undertake here. 331dot (talk) 18:12, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Srscab34: you also created a draft article. If you submit that draft for review, it will be declined, because it does not demonstrate that its subject is a notable organization by our definition: see WP:NCORP. Please read Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). If you force the draft into main space as an article, it will be deleted, for the same reasons. I speculate that the subject is not notable, but I could be wrong: See WP:AMOUNT. -Arch dude (talk) 18:22, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Volunteer Response Team[edit]

Hello,
I would be interested in joining the Volunteer Response Team. Do you need to be an administrator to join the team? What are the steps necessary to join? Interstellarity (talk) 18:29, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Interstellarity: Thanks for wanting to help. Check out Wikipedia:Volunteer_Response_Team and [1] for more information about the team and how to sign up. Being an admin or other special rights is needed for some of the tasks, but non-admins can handle other tasks. RudolfRed (talk) 19:27, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@RudolfRed: Thank you. I will look into it. Interstellarity (talk) 19:51, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
