February 28[edit]

Could someone take a look at Template:Birth year and age/doc and fix this error:

If the person was born after 28 February 1967 then they will be Error: Need valid year, month, day years old on 28 February 2022 as they have not had their 55th birthday yet. On the other hand, if they were born exactly on or before 28 February 1967, then they will be 55 years old.

Thanks --76.14.122.5 (talk) 06:58, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The expression uses {{CURRENTDAY}} + 1 to build a date from which to calculate the age; this will (almost) always fail on the last day of the month, as it will generate an invalid day number (ie today 28 Feb 2022 it will try to use 29th February). (Almost always, because it is using {{CURRENTYEAR}} - 55}}, so one year in four there will be a 29 Feb. But it will always fail on 29 Feb, 30 Apr/Jun/Sep/Nov, and 31 of other months.) --Verbarson talkedits 12:02, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Using the {{#time}} parser function may have fixed this.

"Notability" tag on article from 2018[edit]

This page here [1] has a notability tag from 2018. This article appears to meet notability standards for Wikipedia. Is this the correct place raise the issue of having the notability of this article reviewed? I added to this article last year. Thanks, --Ooligan (talk) 09:55, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

While very detailed, most of the article is unsourced. The few sources there are aren't about her specifically other than The Crisis, which is only viewable in snippets, so her notability is still questionable. Clarityfiend (talk) 11:52, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think the issue isn't notability per se, but the fact that most of the article can't be verified without better citations and so it's just unclear if she's notable or not. There is also a lot of extraneous detail in the article that doesn't seem to really help guide the reader towards her specific notable accomplishments. A better written lead paragraph might help guide the reader, in addition to cutting out a lot of detail that might be difficult to cite and doesn't feel encyclopedic (the composition of the First Concert Jazz Band or the fact that no one knew where she was during 1906). I think it's less that the article might be deleted because she's not notable and more that the article doesn't do a good job at establishing that notability according to the conventions of Wikipedia (using cited sources). Draft[edit]

Hello. Can someone add this draft: Draft:Sonic the Hedgehog (film series) into Category:Paramount Pictures drafts? ZX2006XZ (talk) 14:53, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recovering a lost draft page[edit]

My computer restarted automatically and I think I've lost the draft of the new Wikipedia page I was writing. When I reopened the recent tabs in my browser, the page was blank. I urgently need to recover this draft if possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Long19thCentury (talkcontribs) 17:30, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Long19thCentury Your account shows no edits other than the above; I'm afraid that what you wrote is probably lost, unfortunately. If you are writing a draft, make sure to click "Publish changes" every so often(which just means "save changes"). 331dot (talk) 17:32, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
One other thing I recommend for the future is to go to Preferences -> Editing and set, under Editor, Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary and Warn me when I leave an edit page with unsaved changes. That might save you in the future. (You should always leave an edit summary, that's why I suggest checking Prompt me... also). — rsjaffe 🗣️ 19:37, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages of shortcuts and Wikipedia talk:SOAP[edit]

Not sure of the best place to bring this up. Sort of a two part question.

Someone created a talk page of a shortcut to a section of Wikipedia policy by adding nonsense (vandalism), specifically at Wikipedia talk:PROMO. I manually reverted it here in effect blanking the page. I was wondering if that was the best action. Should I have instead replaced the vandalism with a banner or some other content that typically belongs on such a talk page? None of the other shortcuts to that section have talk pages, except Wikipedia talk:SOAP, which I was surprised to see actually redirects to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Soap Operas.

So while Wikipedia:SOAP redirects to the Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion section, Wikipedia talk:SOAP redirects to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Soap Operas. That doesn't seem right does it? --DB1729 (talk) 21:54, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DB1729, you can place {{Db-g2}} on the talk page to have it deleted. That's the cleanest way to handle it. Regarding WP:SOAP and WT:SOAP going to different places, sometimes that's okay, but in this case, yeah, they should probably be synced. You could try nominating one or both at WP:Redirects for discussion. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 02:43, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Sdkb: I have tagged the PROMO talk page. I will do a nomination at WP:RFD soon. Thanks! :) DB1729 (talk) 03:16, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
