Copyright for a new photo[edit]

How can I add a copyright tag to a recently uploaded photo? Thanks iin advance. Nealash (talk) 04:40, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, but I think you can add something like:

which produces:
File information

@Nealash: In the future, you could use Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard, which will prompt you for all the info needed for the copyright tag and do all the formatting for you. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 11:54, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

need Good-faith section label re Zantac & WP:MEDRS[edit]

Even as the robocalls seeking Zantac (Ranitidine) next of kin continue, is it advisable to retain a 2015 claim that it is safe and reject even mentioning a 2020 NYTimes "some experts are advising expectant mothers to use alternative forms of relief" statement. Is there some type of section that can be added to the article, such as ==Non WP:MEDRS== (to work within the guidance from an editor who reverted with the words "Remove medical text not backed by medical citations"). Nuts240 (talk) 08:40, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Nuts240: I see you asked a similar question at Talk:Ranitidine, and suggest anyone wishing to reply do so there. If you're not getting enough responses, you could also try posting an invite at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine to ask people to reply at Talk:Ranitidine. Happy editing! Technical question[edit]

Is it recorded in the database whether an edit was actually made by user, or was imported either using import or importupload? – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 18:51, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is, in at least once sense, in that imported revisions have an out-of-sequence revision ID. Graham87 can probably explain this better than I can. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:54, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In PHP, could you check if an edit was imported or not? – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 19:25, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed ... it's not recorded as such directly for each revision but only indirectly by such means as the revision ID being out-of-order, several revisions of the same article with consecutive revision ID numbers, and sometimes the username containing a ">" (random example). I don't do much programming so I don't know what is and is not possible. Graham87 02:40, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Graham87: Anyone who would know the exact answer regarding the backend/database? – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 02:48, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. There's a bit more info at mw:Manual:revision table, but I don't know how useful that might be. That's all I have to say about this topic. Graham87 02:59, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Graham87: Thank you! That answers my question perfectly. – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 03:02, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Post-expand include size[edit]

I've completed work on the article 1st class Active State Councillor of the Russian Federation. The problem is that post-expand include size is exceeded and references do not render on the page. How can I solve this problem? K8M8S8 (talk) 19:22, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@K8M8S8: The note at the top of the page says to use Module Cite Web, with a link on how use the module instead of the cite web template. Did you try that? RudolfRed (talk) 20:26, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RudolfRed: {{#invoke:Cite web|| replaces {{Cite web| But there is no {{Cite web| in the article — all references use {{Cite act K8M8S8 (talk) 20:37, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, I didn't look. I just assumed the error message would provide useful advice. Oops. RudolfRed (talk) 20:44, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@K8M8S8:General suggestions for this problem include to split the page, reduce the content, reduce template usage, optimize the code of the used templates, or use "cheaper" templates. I made a solution which uses cite book instead of cite act.[1] The latter is a wrapper which causes overhead in the post-expand include size. It appears to render the same way but the source may not be as nice. The page now uses 78% of the limit so there is room for expansion. Feel free to revert me if you dislike the solution or find something better. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:01, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What about Special:ExpandTemplates? Could it help to? K8M8S8 (talk) 12:04, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@K8M8S8: Yes, that is the extreme version of reduced template usage. It can reduce post-expand include size to 0 but the source will often become very ugly and hard to maintain. You have 356 citations like:

With my solution it became:

With ExpandTemplates it would become:
<templatestyles src="Module:Citation/CS1/styles.css"></templatestyles><cite class="citation book cs1 cs1-prop-foreign-lang-source">"О присвоении квалификационных разрядов федеральным государственным служащим Администрации Президента Российской Федерации". Some of it could be cleaned up afterwards but it isn't pretty. Citation templates are not required but they are preferred. PrimeHunter (talk) 14:11, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Person[edit]

 Courtesy link: Ira Hanna

Ira L.(Lewis) Hanna was not the 36th Mayor of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Per the District Court Clerk of Cheyenne, Ira L.(Lee) Hanna was the 36th Mayor of Cheyenne. How do you edit the website to reflect the correct person. David82070 (talk) 22:21, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@David82070: Wikipedia requires published reliable sources. The sources for "Lewis" are poor so I have changed it to only say "L.".[2] I couldn't find a published source for "Lee". PrimeHunter (talk) 00:35, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
