MSDH copyright status[edit]

I wanted to add a picture of Thomas Dobbs to his article. [I found one ] that is attributed to the MSDH, yet I can't find any information wheter or not work by the MS state goverment is in the public domain or not and MS is not mentioned in the Copyright status of works by subnational governments of the United States article, so does anyone know? Hi Maxwhollymoralground. Only California and Florida seem to have passed laws or statutes stating that work created by state, country or municipal employees as part of their official duties are within the public domain. I don't think the same can be said for Mississippi. If you look at this site, you'll see that Mississippi is listed a state where the laws are unclear, and for Wikipedia's purposes "unclear" means assume protected by copyright. If you look at the MSDH's website, you'll find some contact information. If you can find the same photo on MSDH's website, you can also send them a WP:PERMISSION request regarding the image you want to use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:43, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can I create an article about NFT collection?[edit]

text with link changes displayed text to a number[edit]

I made an edit to the falcon page, where I added the word "tomial" (in order to give the specific name of the "tooth" [tooth-like feature] that was already noted]. I first made one edit by adding "tomial" and upon submission, the change was displayed [at least for me] with the text that read "tomial" [...tomial "tooth"]. When I added the internal link to the word "tomial" [with a second edit], the resultant text that is now displayed on the falcon page, changed from "tomial" and now appears as, "1" (with a link symbol also present). Furthermore, when I follow the link, it brings me only to top of the internal link page, rather than the subsection that I used in the hyperlink URL (that is, it brings me to the top of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beak rather than the subsection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beak#Tomia). Could someone please let me know if this incongruity is due to the pending change or did I fail in my intended action? If so, what may I do to remedy this? @Achillesbane, I fixed it for you. I made it an internal link (like [[Beak#Tomia|tomial]]). The reason for the situation you described because the syntax for a link that shows like [1] is [https://example.com], so it was parsed as one of these external links surrounded by brackets.

And no, this isn't caused by pending changes. Pending changes simply does not show them to logged-out users until experienced editors with the user right approve them. Hope this helps. Weeklyd3 (talk) 21:59, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Save Links?[edit]

Do you permit saving article links and creating folders for subject matter in an account? I thought I had saved several articles in the last few years but I cannot find the 'Saved Articles' option anymore.

Jéské Couriano, the Android app has a built-in feature where you can save articles to a reading list and the app will download it so you can read them later. Some of the Wikipedia apps allow reading lists, but web versions (desktop or mobile) don't support this. As Cullen says, you can create a page of links in your user space. ColinFine (talk) 23:16, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
