@Abshalumov: When we say that someone is "notable" on Wikipedia, we mean that independent, reliable sources of information (things like books and newspapers) have written a significant amount about them (this page gives a brief summary of the requirement). Even a lot of "famous" people aren't considered notable. You should also consider that having a Wikipedia article about yourself is not always a good thing.

My advice would be to focus on your personal pursuits, and maybe in the future if people write about you someone will create a Wikipedia article.

This appears to be related to a previous topic from October 28. From what I can gather, the request is to change the first sentence from "...is the chemical element..." to "...is a chemical element...". To be honest, I don't know why the IP-address editor (editors? I'm guessing they are the same person but I can't be sure) is (are?) requesting this though. IP editor. Potassium is a specific member of a group (the elements), so in English the definite article, "the" is the most appropriate word. If any changes were warranted, they would be to sodium etc. which use "a", the indefinite article. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:10, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

.... and I've made that change to sodium. Our usage in the WP:LEAD of articles on the elements of the periodic table has a mixture of "a" and "the". @Lammoy In this edit you inadvertently removed some characters which normally close a hidden comment. That had the effect of losing all the body text. Another editor fixed it. Safe disposal of Bang Snaps / "TNT Pop-Its"[edit]

Hello! I wanted to ask if another Wikipedia contributor would be willing to honor a small request of mine. I am casually familiar with editing other wikimedia style platforms but...This specific topic feels too small to warrant me getting into editing the "real" Wikipedia properly, and the articles potentially relating to it are about topics that exist far outside my personal areas of knowledge.

The request: On appropriate pages, such as the articles for Bang Snaps and/or the base chemical compounds that Bang Snaps are made of, would someone mind finding a way to refer people to "safe storage and disposal" instructions? A link to another page is totally fine, but the goal is to help find "specific" instructions for an everyday, less chemically-knowledgeable person who wants to dispose of products that fit this description.

If useful, here are more details about the problem that prompted my request:

I personally don't know "enough" about chemistry to know how I can find the right information to help myself (e.g. I know how to bake, but I didn't take the chemistry class offered to me in high school because it was optional).
I want to understand how to store/dispose of these products safely, so that I can dispose of a few unopened boxes of "TNT Pop Its" (also known as Bang Snaps) that I bought from a grocery store earlier this year.
I want to do this because I know that "TNT Pop-its" aka. Bang Snaps are considered "firework products" and I personally know "just enough" about firework products to know that you can accidentally endanger people, belongings, structures, etc if the firework products are not stored and/or disposed of "correctly."
It took me a good 15 minutes of internet searching before I eventually found the wikipedia articles for "Bang Snaps" and "Silver fulminate." While reading these articles, I still didn't find the answer to my question, because neither one of these articles currently has "clearly labeled" information for "how plausibly safe" these substances are, or how a non-chemist person could go about safely storing/disposing of them.

Enh. It's in-scope, if sourced and appropriately phrased - see, for example, Electric battery#Hazards and #Legislation and regulation, or Polychlorinated biphenyl#Methods of destruction. I didn't find any usable sources in a quick google, though. Maybe someone at WP:Reference desk/Science could do better.

Anyway, unless the boxes are a great deal larger than the 50-snap boxes I remember buying [mumble] years ago, it should've taken a good deal less than those 15 minutes of searching to just detonate them on the ground five or ten at a time and then sweep up the residual paper. —Cryptic 22:35, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The direct answer to your question is that you change the title of a page by using the MOVE function; but your account is too new to have access to that yet.

The operative answer is that there is no point in worrying about the correct title of a draft, because when you submit it for review, the accepting reviewer will sort out the correct title.

The answer to the question you didn't ask is that you are writing your draft Draft:Nixon's phoenix after nam BACKWARDS, which turns a challenging task (writing a Wikipedia article) into an almost impossible one. Your first article will tell you that you first find your reliable independent sources that will establish that the subject of the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for notability (if it doesn't you should give up at that stage); then you start writing a summary of what those sources say.

I suspect that what you have written so far is already to be found in one or more of our existing articles, but I haven't read it carefully, and I am not superfamiliar with the context. This is just a "life note", but the spelling of that word is "capitalization" (the state or act of whether something is a capital letter--outside the US it's typically spelled capitalisation). As far as I know, "capitolization" isn't a word, but I imagine if it was, it would mean something like "turning a normal building into a capitol building".
