Movie theater

I don't usually go to the movies with a lot of tech and superheroes, however I decided to see Dunkirk. I checked the show times and saw this:

Standard 4:00pm; 6:50pm; XD 9:25pm; 10:15pm; 3D 7:15pm

3d is a 3d movie. You'll need to wear special glasses. These are usually 3d conversions, not actually filmed with a 3d camera. It's like colorizing a black and white movie, and about as realistic. (And they wonder why 3d is perceived as a gimmick!)

XD is "Extreme Digital", a competitor to "Imax". Basically, it'll be a bigger screen and a supposedly sharper image. The XD/IMax showings often tend to also have better and louder sound, but that's not a rule. ApLundell (talk) 15:08, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
