non tropical fish

[edit]

non tropical fish .........thats all i need — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.201.145.46 (talk) 00:21, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tropical fish is usually used as a colloquialism for all (freshwater) aquarium fish kept as pets. Using that definition, "non-tropical fish" would be the same as "wild fish" or fish not typically kept in pet aquaria, of which there are a multitude. It's also possible you're interested in pet fish which can stand cold water environments. For that, see Coldwater fish#Freshwater aquarium fish for a list of possibilities. -- 205.175.124.30 (talk) 00:38, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What makes you think he is asking about aquariums ? I'd assume he means what he said. In that case all salt-water and fresh-water fish which live outside of the tropics would qualify. StuRat (talk) 03:54, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, even then the question is unclear. Does the OP mean fish incapable of living in the tropics, or fish which are found outside the tropics even if also found inside the tropics? Nil Einne (talk) 15:56, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Gawd, WHERE do you come up with this tripe? Between this and the absolutely hilarious explanation of gotten/getted over on the Language Desk, I haven't laughed so hard on the Reference Desks in months!

Ninja Turtles and the The Blue Door

[edit]

Is there a more reliable source that verify the authenticity of the alleged draft of next Ninja Turtles film titled The Blue Door? This is the script that was leaked by the protest blog "TMNT, Not TANT", and supposedly verifies all the fears the fanbase had regarding Michael Bay's involvement in the project. Right now, the only third part source on the film series article that verifies it's existence, is a report from the website Comicbookmovie.com, which doesn't seen all that reliable to me. And the source that verifies that the blog got a cease and desist order from Paramount over the script, is the blog itself. Which makes the whole thing seem suspicious to me. Places to see in Munich?

[edit]

I am going to Munich, Germany, for BoundCon X in late May. I will be spending most of the time at the actual event, but I want to see something of the city itself as well. I have already visited the Englischer Garten, the Hofbräuhaus and the Munich Residenz, and enjoyed them all very much. Could someone suggest more places to see? Here is my schedule:

  • Thursday 23 May: My plane from Finland arrives at 16:15. No BoundCon on this day.
  • Friday 24 May: At BoundCon from 15:00 to midnight. The morning and the early afternoon are open.
  • Saturday 25 May: At BoundCon from 12:00 to 23:00. The morning is open.
  • Sunday 26 May: At BoundCon from 11:00 to 16:00. The morning and the entire evening are open.
  • Monday 27 May: My plane back to Finland leaves at 13:05. No BoundCon on this day.

My hotel is near Theresienwiese, near the centre of the city. Could anyone suggest where I should go? JIP | Talk 20:18, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I enjoyed the Deutsches Museum. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 20:33, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll second the recommendation for the Deutsches Museum. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 20:52, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks. It looks to be near my hotel as well. I'll consider visiting it Friday or Sunday. Saturday will perhaps leave too little time for me. JIP | Talk 21:00, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Consider walking around the Olympic Park area.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:36, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
These guys would love to take a stab at your question, I betcha. As for my experiences, the Deutsches Museum is grand if you like old-style science museums (lots of instruments, not a lot of interactivity, but most of it is in English as well as German); there is a big, old clock tower in the center of the city that you can go up for a small fee and affords a good view of the entire place, and around there are lots of amusing little shops and oddities; the Haus der Kunst is interesting both as an art museum as an historical building. --Mr.98 (talk) 23:57, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You could simply have said that you were traveling to Germany. But no. It's the second time you post that boundcon link in vain. It's not work-safe, you should have warned about it. And on the top of it, it makes you look more like an exhibitionist and less like submissive. OsmanRF34 (talk) 00:42, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, I didn't think of it. I'm genuinely interested in BoundCon, but this particular question was about Munich itself only. I've deleted the link to BoundCon but left the mention about it in place. JIP | Talk 21:31, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
