I am seeking feedback on my creation as I am one of the volunteers who have signed up to assist.

It's tagged for citations and review. Not sure what else I can cite though. How can the notices be removed?

Thanks for the help!

If you don't get a good reply here, check into the Discussion tab at WP:WikiProject Books. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:51, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is nominally a biography; do you have the subject's DOB?
You should fix the titles of the publications and periodicals you mentioned: they should be in italics, not all-caps. Be sure to use the precise proper name of the publication.
From a format standpoint, all his works should be under "Works" with subheadings for screenplays, novels, short fiction, etc. I set this up. You don't need ref tags around the short fiction. All the bibliographical detail can be placed where you list the various works.
What you do need some refs for, tho, is to some secondary sources discussing your subject. Look at the discussion at WP:BASIC and at WP:AUTHOR. With all your subject has written, surely there must be something. This is the "what else" that you need to cite. And thanks for bringing another scifi author to my attention. Just made a wikipedia entry for a computer software program that didn't have an entry for some reason, and I've been using this program for years... This was my first wikipedia page, so I just want to make sure I did it correctly, and added enough notable/reliable sources

Thank you, whoever checks this!

User:Nayj/John R. Nay This is my first Wikipedia article.[edit]

This is my first Wikipedia article. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Although I technically do have a conflict of interest as the subject of the article is my father, I believe he is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article and I wrote it as neutrally as I felt possible. All the information on the page was gathered from the three sources. Thanks so much!

Seems basically good, but here's what you need. You need to add Categories, you need to fill out your footnotes so they aren't just bare links (see WP:FOOTNOTES). Also you need to add a bullet (asterisk) before each link in your External links, and also spell them out (as you do for footnotes) so it's an actual description/date/title that's clickable as a link, not just a chain of bare HTML. This is a first attempt at an article for me. The subject is someone who has built and grown several start-ups in Rhode Island. I expect to be told I need more reliable sources, which I am working on and will add. I also want to know what else it needs and if the format is structured properly.

Fixed some of your formatting (section heads, removing "Mr.", etc). The main issue I see is that you want a few more footnotes, footnotes which aren't just examples of companies (a "footnote" to Acme Corp. to prove it exists is not the same as a footnote verifying that John Smith garnered $50mil in new business in 2008), but instead verify particular facts you're stating in the article. Note also that your lede paragraph (WP:LEDE) shouldn't be the start of his life, but should be a 1-paragraph summary of the fundamental notable facts from the article. Things like FaceBook don't count as reliable sources (WP:RS), ideally you want news, corporate, or government sites giving specific details about Paolo, not just "hey, here's his name mentioned in a list of names on a Dept. of Commerce site." You also need to add categories, but while the article is in draft form make sure to put a colon in the cats to keep them from autofiling: that is, [[:Category:Living people]], no [[Category:Living people]] (which will auto-file). This is a sortable table of the Standard & Poors index of 400 mid-cap stocks. It is my first article. I would appreciate any feedback.
