Issues to be mediated

[edit]
  • DreamGuy is calling my website spam, when it is clearly related to the subject matter. When I say "I did not add the link to the wiki page" he says "See, you admit to adding the link." which completely contradicts what I wrote.
  • This is pop culture topic, so there are no "scholarly articles" on the topic. My site has original research, reviews, interviews, and a podcast about the topic but DreamGuy says is unreliable and insignificant. While it may be insignificant in the the larger scheme it is very significant for the topic. Also, using Wiki's reliable sources methodology, USA Today is the most significant source since it named the Frat Pack. During their 2006 follow-up article, my site was mentioned prominently and I even coauthored a sidebar article with the author of the article. So, my point of view is that this provides enough significance (for this subject matter) for at least a mention.
  • DreamGuy mentions removing the entire article, claiming I wrote all of it. While I have done many corrective edits (removing Adam Sandler as a member of the Frat Pack) I have not written extensive sections of the article.

Additional issues to be mediated

[edit]
  • Having DreamGuy understand the difference between me putting a link that's been on the page for over a year vs. adding it for the first time.

Issues to be mediated

[edit]
  • Whether the original CNN citation, which is unbiased, should be replaced with another citation which is critical of Edwards. One editor is agreeable to have both citations but the other editor is opposed to the CNN citation being mentioned at all
  • Whether a citation must be entirely about the subject mentioned in the wikipedia article or whether it is acceptable if the citation is about two topics, only one being related to the article and the other about someone else.

Notice how in the case of the first link the user tried to "resolve" the dispute by asking if I was ignorant? [9] Yeah, that's a really good faith attempt at dispute resolution if I've ever seen one.
And on the second link the user posted he never even responded to my question, so I don't know how that constitutes dispute resolution in any normal definition of the word? 74.225.36.136 04:51, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Futhermore, this user has a history of questionable edits [10] and a history of attacking other users [11]. Shame on me for following into his or her trap. 74.225.36.136 05:12, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issues to be mediated

[edit]
  • Jeff Bezos is NOT Cuban ethnically or biologically. Being adopted by his mother's second husband does NOT make him Cuban.
    • It's not up to you to decide how someone self identifies. Read up on the article of Shania Twain, who though not biologically Ojibwa herself, she identifies herself as an Ojibwa, because it is the tribe of her adopted father. It's not up to you to decide what someone is and what someone is not. Adopted children are just as much children of their parents as biological children are. 74.225.36.136 04:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Fantasia Barrino is NOT Cuban due to the fact "a family rumor" says her last name is Cuban. Barrino is of Italian origin, therefore rumor is not sufficient nor confirmable information to validate this claim of Cuban ancestry.
    • Really? Barrino is of Italian origin? Do you have any credible evidence to cite that information. The only information I can find on Barrino are that she is African-American and possibly Cuban. African-American is a given, by virtue of being American and of African descent. But unfortunately, as I tried to explain to you earlier in her talk page and you so conveniently decided to ignore it's not as simple for African-Americans to trace their ethnicity. 74.225.36.136 04:57, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • 74.225.36.136 must not conduct independent research. He must not delete the contributions of others without valid and logical discussion and must not refer to lies of racist behavior.
    • I'll address the independent research argument below since you brought it up twice. Lies of racist behavior? I'm not sure I get that. But you instigated all this with your snarky little "comprende" comments. 74.225.36.136 04:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional issues to be mediated

[edit]
  • 74.225.36.136 must be informed that he does not own the list
  • 74.225.36.136 must be made aware that he must cite information that is confirmable and not based on rumors nor independent research
    • Really? The information cited is not confirmable? In regards to Fantasia's Cuban lineage, I present an excerpt from her auto-biography from ABC News: [12]. As for Jeff Bezos: [13]. Two articles from reliable sources, how does that constitute independent research?74.225.36.136 04:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
