Templates[edit]

Should the project strongly discourage affinity program templates for infoboxes or nav boxes since those templates would likely require a large number of templates in articles? I think that a Category would be the best solution if it is important to link an airline to a program. Vegaswikian 01:55, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

They should absolutely be discouraged. They clutter up pages and aren't necessary. Most of the templates are made by fans of one airline or another, who then take it as a personal offense when someone adds a tfd. To be honest, I'm not even crazy about having categories (since an airline such as Lufthansa would be in 30 categories), but it's much better than using templates.
