Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Depth of Knowledge

This is in reference to Depth of Knowledge submission Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Depth of Knowledge . The editor is telling me that there are duplicate submissions and that I should delete one of the submissions. But, I am not sure how.

Also, the editor, HasteurBot, has tagged this article for deletion. Is there any way to prevent deletion until I have a chance to delete the duplicate submission?

Hello Jwalkupcash. Where were you told it was a duplicate submission? The draft Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Depth of Knowledge was deleted because it was an abandoned draft (i.e., not edited for over 6 months). There is a procedure for getting it back. Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Wyn

My article has been rejected because of a lack of footnotes. I added these footnotes and they show up on the copy, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Wyn Roberts. How do I get these footnotes to show up in the reference category below. I believe I deleted the primary key in to add references when I deleted my old footnotes in my first editPlanspace (talk) 03:06, 26 March 2014 (UTC)cory

THE OTTER AFRICAN TRAIL RUN ARTICLE MARKED FOR DELETION

Hi there,

Please could you assist me with my article. My article The otter trail run has been tagged deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Not sure where or how to make my statement on why it should be important to be included.

Please could you let me know where I should do this.

Hello Windstorme. The contents of the now deleted article The otter trail run appear to have been the same as the draft in User:Windstorme/sandbox, which was declined today. The problem is that you have simply reproduced the material from the event's website and have provided no independent reliable published sources that have covered this event in depth. In fact, you have provided no sources at all. Thus, there is no evidence that it meets the criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia. Wikipedia:Notability explains in detail what these are, and Wikipedia:Verifiability explains why these types of sources are required. I also suggest you re-write the article completely, making it much shorter and more encyclopedic. It shouldn't be a brochure for the event and its participants. Wikipedia does not host material like that, and you have to remove the rather extensive "peacock wording" which violates Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch for guidance on how to word an article neutrally. Voceditenore (talk) 14:31, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

I Googled "Otter Trail Run" and found many good sources - magazine articles, news reports, etc. Rewriting it using these types of sources is not too difficult. You must however keep the marketing-speak out of the article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:50, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Is there any way you could give me more specific details on the problems with the article I am submitting. The reviewer said that I need to sight verifiable and reliable sources. the vast majority of my article is referenced from three notable published books about Mr. Livesey's profession: The International Who's Who in Popular Music, The Encyclopaedia of Record Producers and The 100 Best Australia Albums. is the problem that these sources are not recognized as reliable or is there specific parts of my article that are problematic, or something else? I would really like to understand this very interesting process.

Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Startup Village - Yokneam

How do I find and include a list of existing data that gets updated elsewhere. For example, I saw the following on a number of wikipages:

1. Where do I find a list of similar pages/templates... that I might want to insert into a page?

2. What does {{ }} mean?

3. At the moment, I want to use these type of lists to update or improve two wikipedia pages.

One is "Yokneam" in English. I saw the the Hebrew version gathers data automatically from a BOT ( {{בוט יישובים/0240|2}} ), which I assume is from an official source. I would like to add the equivalent source.

The other is "Startup Village - Yokneam", which is a page that I recently resubmitted after making changes to meet wikipedia standards. I would like to add existing information on things like startup ecosystems in Israel or worldwide.

4. I noticed that the Israel NASDAQ list is not complete. For example, I checked the site of an Israeli company (Lumenis) that I thought was on NASDAQ, but did not appear in the list. According to the Lumenis website, it is listed on NASDAQ as LMNS. Should I update Template:Israel NASDAQ when I find similar examples? Should I notify someone else (if yes, who?)? The problem is the lack of significant coverage in reliable, indepdent sources. Among your sources, most are just passing mentions of the "Gage said..." variety. Others are not reliable, such as the blog cited as the 12th source. Yet others are not independent, written by Gage himself. The best of the bunch is the The Star article from 2007, and that looks more like an event announcement, possibly a press release, than like a news report. Furthermore, the given sources don't always support what they're cited for. For example, the Chicago Tribune was cited for this statement: "He then set about studying a range of prosperity and wealth building techniques and became a prosperity coach and writer of self-help books."
