Lenora Claire[edit]

Previously deleted article, sent to Incubator for re-work. Graduation from incubator is contested. Peer review on notability requested. Thanks.     Eclipsed   (t)     19:54, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article was deleted on 25 May 2009 following an AfD. It was on 1 December 2009 restored and moved to Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Lenora Claire "to incorporate history & investigate notability". It has now been tagged for speedy deletion under CSD G4 (a page that was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted). This speedy deletion nomination has been challenged on its talk page by Eclipsed on the grounds that "there was consensus enough to incubate this article in prep for a re-launch into mainspace". Two other editors have disagreed that this is a valid reason, and Eclipsed has brought it here in order to seek an opinion from "an independent third party". (Since Eclipsed wrote that, another editor has in fact commented on the talk page, so this is in fact a fourth opinion.)
Firstly, I do not see that there was a consensus for the incubation. It was in fact incubated by ThaddeusB, who wrote "This article has a storied history (see AfD) and was userified w/o the slightest improvement for some time. Being brought here as a 'final chance.' Notability seems possible, albeit weak, however the article currently makes many claims not backed by sources." Secondly, the decision, whether or not we think it was by consensus, was to temporarily incubate the article to give a chance to address the issues which led to deletion, not to automatically keep the article after that temporary process was over. In the 11 months since the article was incubated there have been only minor changes, which have not significantly addressed the reasons for deletion. It thus does satisfy the criterion under which it was nominated for speedy deletion, and so I will delete it. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:54, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense, I agree with you.     Eclipsed   (t)     22:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
