[edit]

An easy one from me; who is set to become the first person to appear in cricket and soccer world cups? --Roisterer (talk) 11:22, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are qualifiers eligible for this question? Ovshake (talk) 12:17, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, we all know that Viv Richards played in the world cup soccer qualifiers for Antigua and Barbuda in 1974... Ovshake (talk) 12:33, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ellyse Perry. Moondyne (talk) 15:08, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ellyse Perry is the person I'm after. Not bad for a 20 year-old. --Roisterer (talk) 23:42, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have nothing. Anyone care to step in? Moondyne (talk) 08:20, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1322

[edit]

Should be easy. Who is the next name on the list, who might rise up or get eliminated from this list tonight (IST): Aravinda De Silva, Ricky Ponting, Javed Miandad, James Franklin, Andrew Flintoff, Shakib Al Hasan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul? Ovshake (talk) 14:55, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He got eliminated from the list yesterday. Ovshake (talk) 03:54, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

During the Indian innings. Ovshake (talk) 16:16, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the second half of the innings. Ovshake (talk) 18:37, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No one? Let me give away the name, will at least someone try to figure out what list it is? The person concerned was Rohit Sharma. Ovshake (talk) 06:25, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The entire list is made up of players who made their debuts young. Is that connected to the answer..? Sumant81 (talk) 08:40, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's an ODI batting record. What happened in the second half of the Indian innings that removed Rohit from the list? Ovshake (talk) 08:48, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it people who have scored more than 200 runs between dismissals in ODIs? Rohit 'only' made 200, so he's not on the list? AllylViolinPudding (talk) 09:29, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If no one does better I'd give it to you. These are players who have have scored most runs (plus something extra) without getting dismissed. Rohit ultimately got dismissed, so he didn't qualify. What is that extra bit? Ovshake (talk) 10:02, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Damien Martyn would currently be the next name on the list, list of highest run scorers in a series without being dismissed[1] Sumant81 (talk) 10:09, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. Rohit Sharma made a serious grab at it, though. Ovshake (talk) 11:36, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any one else ? Sumant81 (talk) 14:57, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Whose MoM speech in a Test was : "I just want to thank everybody for, well, being here, and thank you very much for the trophy. Before I leave, I would just like to thank X for the bump on the side of my head" ? Also which Test match, who is X etc. Tintin 04:45, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Roy Fredericks in this test? X=Dennis Lillee, then. Ovshake (talk) 11:21, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No. If it may help, he pronounces it as "boomp" and it is not Boycott. Tintin 13:06, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Derek Randall, in the first Centenary Test, X still Lillee, iirc?
Yes. Is that WillE ? This caused the bump, this is Randall's reaction to another bouncer and this is the speech. Tintin 16:08, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, not me! WillE (talk) 11:33, 20 June 2011 (UTC) (Though tempting to claim it, so close to a 50...) WillE (talk) 12:00, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is this where the quiz ends, then? With no one liable to ask a question or claim the points? :D And myself stranded on 98, Graeme Hick-style? Ovshake (talk) 04:27, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If no one else can post a question, I'll post one when I get home from work in a few hours. --Roisterer (talk) 05:42, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm giving the points to 90.208.60.141, as per the history. Ovshake (talk) 07:15, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1324

[edit]

What happened for the first time in this match [2]? --Roisterer (talk) 15:47, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

8 LBWs in an innings? WillE (talk) 10:59, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For the sake of my question, I hope there have been other cases where there were 8 lbws in an innings. The answer is related to a decision made before the game. --Roisterer (talk) 03:07, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like 8 LBWs has occurred on at least three other occasions... WillE (talk)

A decision taken before the game? Queensland won the toss and decided to bat? KingStrato (talk) 20:32, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even before that. The decision made news in certain media here in Australia. --Roisterer (talk) 23:44, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Teams announced on Twitter? WillE (talk) 10:27, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, without trying to give it away too much, think captains & backgrounds thereof. --Roisterer (talk) 23:18, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dan Christian First first-class captain of aboriginal origin ? Sumant81 (talk) 06:23, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sumant has it! Back in 1868 Johnny Mullagh was being called the equal of any batsman in England (and was the unofficial vice captain of the 1868 tour) but it took until 2011 for an Australian Aboriginal to captain a first-class side. --Roisterer (talk) 08:19, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The privately owned ICL (Indian Cricket League) ruined the careers of many international players with the boards of most countries banning them indefinitely.Who was the first cricketer to represent his country after playing in ICL ? Sumant81 (talk) 17:26, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Abdul Razzaq ? VasuVR (talk, contribs) 05:18, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is what is popularly believed ,but Razzaq was not the first it was someone else, think non-test playing countries Sumant81 (talk) 06:58, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Boyd Rankin? Niall O'Brien? Ovshake (talk) 19:30, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Niall O'Brien it is ,there is a mention of this in his wiki page too Sumant81 (talk) 03:12, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1326

[edit]

Who recently pushed Greville Stevens a step down? Ovshake (talk) 07:44, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Barney Gibson? --Roisterer (talk) 09:50, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Er, can you be a bit more specific? My "recently" thing happened yesterday, and relates to test cricket. Ovshake (talk) 14:11, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ishant Sharma? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 19:16, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. Best bowling figures by an overseas bowler at Kensington Oval. Ovshake (talk) 06:25, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1327

[edit]

Woohoo! Okay so do I go now? A quick and easy one, as I really ought to be working: Mark Boucher is to Muttiah Muralitharan as xx is to Shane Warne. Who is xx? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 13:21, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alec Stewart? Schumi555 15:06, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes indeed. "Top bunnies" to the spin greats - i.e. batsmen most dismissed (respectively 12 and 14 times). Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 15:56, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1328

[edit]

Thanks Gamesh. What occured for the very first time in this match? Schumi555 09:01, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it the first instance of 100 before lunch on Day 1 of a Test? If Trumper did get it before lunch. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 09:41, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He probably did seen as he was out after only 115 minutes, but that's not what I'm looking for. To be a little more specific, the answer happened in a Test match in England for the very first time on this occasion. Schumi555 10:10, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A curious observation. Victor Trumper scored 104 in the first innings, while Australia scored 86 in the second. On the other hand, Stanley Jackson scored 128 in the first innings, while England scored 120 in the second. So, is this about one batsman outscoring his team's other innings score for both teams? Ovshake (talk) 04:24, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that isn't what I was looking for either, but a great observation! This particular feat I'm concerned with happened during Australia's 1st innings. Schumi555 08:16, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Players scoring either >=50 or <10 in an all-out innings? Ovshake (talk) 08:28, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not that either. It concerns one batsman in particular. Schumi555 08:33, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Joe Darling hit the first six in Test cricket (Adelaide, 1897/98). Did he also hit the first six in Test cricket in England? -- Mattinbgn (talk) 08:47, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Darling hitting two sixes in an innings 1? Ovshake (talk) 08:48, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mattinbgn is spot on - The first ever six in Test cricket in England. Hard luck Ovshake, some really good guesses :) Over to you, Mattinbgn. Schumi555 09:32, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

... and all of them valid ones as well, to boot. Still stranded on 99. :( Ovshake (talk) 10:36, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1329

[edit]

Not very good at posing questions, but here goes ... Who is next in this pattern and why? Roach, Roach, Headley, Carew, Richards, _______ -- Mattinbgn (talk) 12:53, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are the two Roaches different? Kemar and Clifford? Ovshake (talk) 16:36, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They are the one and the same Roach - Clifford. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 20:20, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like first hundreds by West Indians at each home venue: Clifford Roach at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown and Bourda, Georgetown; George Headley at Sabina Park, Kingston; Joey Carew at Queen's Park Oval, Port-of-Spain; Viv Richards at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's. So the next on the list shall be Brian Lara, for Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown. Ovshake (talk) 06:55, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lara shall be followed by Chris Gayle for Queen's Park (New), St George's; Wavell Hinds for Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet; Darren Ganga for Warner Park, Basseterre; Shivnarine Chanderpaul for Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound. Ovshake (talk) 07:10, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All correct! Too easy, it seems. :) I hope that today Darren Bravo for Windsor Park, Roseau is added to the list. Over to you - and 100 up it seems ... -- Mattinbgn (talk) 07:21, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, it's fitting that it was a question on hundreds. Thanks. Ovshake (talk) 07:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very well played, sir. A guard of honour for you! Schumi555 07:52, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well done to Ovshake :) ..Sumant81 (talk) 09:06, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks guys. Overwhelmed. Ovshake (talk) 18:05, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And by the way, Kirk Edwards joins the list. Ovshake (talk) 03:39, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1330

[edit]

What have Greg Chappell and Kapil Dev uniquely achieved? Ovshake (talk) 13:33, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's a bit tenuous, but they're both World cup winners who've coached India. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 19:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chappell had never won a world cup. They've actually achieved two things uniquely, but I'm looking for only one of them. Ovshake (talk) 04:11, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let me put it this way. They have both scored test hundreds when... Ovshake (talk)
Ahem. Well spotted with the deliberate mistake. I meant finalists, of course. As they were both all-rounders, captains and coaches, I was thinking of some kind of unique combo out of that. Guess I was on the wrong track. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 12:33, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They have both scored test hundreds when a debutant... Ovshake (talk) 13:16, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

O 87.112.98.145, can you please create an ID and use it henceforth? Giving away your IP is not the best thing to do, you see. Or are you WillE? Ovshake (talk) 13:17, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cheek!!!! WillE (talk) 17:55, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. Not WillE, just incompetent; hadn't noticed I'd logged out Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 13:37, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
...took 16 wickets. Thanks for the heavy hint! Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 13:54, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely spot on. It's all yours, Gilgamesh. Ovshake (talk) 03:40, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The other Chappell-Kapil record, as someone has pointed out behind the curtains, is this. Ovshake (talk) 03:43, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1331

[edit]

Thanks Ovshake. Don't think I can match that, I'm afraid, but here goes. What record was set during this test match? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 09:32, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...beating a record set in this match. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 15:41, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's an all-time test record, albeit a bit of an odd one. Its been broken a lot in recent years, including (I think) in each of the last two tests of the S. Africa v India series in 2006/7.

But the one I'm looking for was in S. Africa's second innings in 2011 - also against India. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 21:26, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anything to do with South Africa, in general? Ovshake (talk) 05:48, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No. It was a (quite bizarre) dismissal in the last India - W.Indies match that made me think of it. That turned out not to be the record, but its close. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 07:12, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But its no coincidence that the same teams keep cropping up.

Maybe its a bit unfair to call it a record, as not everyone involved in setting it would be very happy. Its linked to a dismissal in each of the listed matches. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 19:27, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a stab; the highest aggregate number of runs between a batsman/bowler combination in a single dismissal? Tendulkar dismissing Boucher in the SA/India match, which has a higher aggregate than Chanderpaul dismissing Laxman in the more recent match? AllylViolinPudding (talk) 09:28, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it simply taking a wicket after scoring the maximum number of CAREER runs? I mean, Tendulkar had 14,678 runs when he had taken that wicket... Ovshake (talk) 09:58, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kallis was at 10,911 runs when he had dismissed Chanderpaul. Border was 10,387 when he had taken HIS last, but Tendulkar had taken wickets when he was at 12,773 when he had taken his previous wicket. Ovshake (talk) 10:09, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let me do the calculations for AlllViolinPudding's response - Tendulkar 14,678 + Boucher 5,312 = 19,990. Kallis 10,911 + Chanderpaul 8,710 = 19,621. Chanderpaul 9,251 + Laxman 8,143 = 17,394 (at the time of dismissal) doesn't come close. If this is indeed the case then it's an excellent question and an excellent answer. Ovshake (talk) 10:13, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AllylViolinPudding is absolutely correct - congrats! Its the highest aggregate runs between batsman and bowler at the point of dismissal. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 19:36, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ovshake got the maths right - though I made the Chanderpaul/ Laxman dismissal to be 17315, even further off, but (I think) still the 5th highest, with Kallis/ Tendulkar (each way round) in the 2006/7 series coming in between. Well done to both, but the points go to AllylViolinPudding. I was just wondering if that was a bit too hard, but maybe its just the way I phrased it originally. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 19:36, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Final note - all of Ovshake's maths was right and Laxman/ Chanderpaul was 17,394. If Tendulkar gets any of Strauss, Cook or Pietersen in England this Summer, that would smash the 20,000 barrier. Or, of course, if KP gets Tendulkar (please). Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 20:01, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1332

[edit]

A recent debutant has entered at second on the Test version of this list. Number one on the T20I version of this list is Suresh Raina. Number one on the ODI version of this list is a notable Dutch batsman. Who is number one on the Test version of this list? AllylViolinPudding (talk) 13:16, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Trott ?? Sumant81 (talk) 15:09, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not Trott. Number one on the Test list is not a recent player at all. Just in case you're wondering, the notable Dutch player is not Ryan ten Doeschate. AllylViolinPudding (talk) 16:55, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If its not ten Doeschate, is it the great Feiko Kloppenburg? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 18:36, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kloppenburg is indeed the Dutchman in question. AllylViolinPudding (talk) 21:38, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kirk Edwards? WillE (talk) 10:37, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kirk Edwards is indeed the recent debutant who's second on the Test list; combine that with knowledge about Kloppenburg, and hopefully the answer to who's number one on the Test list will present itself. AllylViolinPudding (talk) 10:45, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Adrian Barath? WillE (talk) 14:13, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The luckless Andy Ganteaume? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 14:32, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Andy Ganteaume is correct - today, for once, not because of his best-ever Test average, but rather due to having scored the fewest career runs to include a century (112), slightly ahead of Edwards' 116. But I suppose Edwards is likely to plummet down this list if/when he plays again. List here [3].Your question, Gamesh/Gil. AllylViolinPudding (talk) 15:39, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1333

[edit]

Thanks. OK, a timely question for you. Which cricketer assessed himself in the following words: "I'm probably the worst practiser in the world. You look at me in the nets and you wouldn't think I was a player. I just slog"? Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 11:49, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rahul Dravid? Believe it or not, I've seen him slog vociferously in the nets several times. MS Dhoni seems a more likely candidate, though. Ovshake (talk) 15:56, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Neither, I'm afraid. I wish it was Dravid; that would be a much better question, but its not a 'trick'. Sorry for the delayed reply. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 13:32, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
...and, if it helps, the quote is not translated. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 14:40, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A (probably) great player, now retired (from playing). But you could believe he didn't practise his batting. Or his bowling. Its best not to mention his captaincy at all. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 14:41, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He last played a test in 1992, but his greatest deeds were nearly 30 years ago. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 20:56, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Botham --Roberry (talk) 00:18, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. Showing (false?) modesty in 1982. Today is the 30th anniversary of Day 3 of the Headingley test, at the end of which those odds of 500-1 wre offered. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 07:10, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I added Botham to the Portal. WG Grace is 163 years old today. Moondyne (talk) 07:39, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1334

[edit]

If the Test record for the 10th wicket is from this match [4], and the 1st wicket record in from match [5], what is the record? --Roberry (talk) 11:52, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Highest ever partnership/total score ratio in a completed innings? 08:22, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

In the first match Wasim Raja and Wasim Bari put up 133 for the 10th wicket out of a team score of 291, which is 45.7%. In the second match Adrian Griffith and Sherwin Campbell added 276 out of 365, which is 75.6%. Are these two records? Ovshake (talk) 08:24, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good shout, Ovshake. Is the overall record Jayawardene and Sangakarra in this match? 168 out of 216 is 77.8%. Gamesh (Gil) (talk) 17:28, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Surely there are plenty of innings where the first wicket partnership was unbroken to account for 100% of the runs. KingStrato (talk) 18:59, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Completed innings. I had meant all-out. Ovshake (talk) 19:05, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct - highest percentage of a completed innings for each wicket --Roberry (talk) 01:09, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1335

[edit]

In a first class season outside England, eight hundreds in a season by Don Bradman, Denis Compton, Neil Harvey, Arthur Morris, Martin Crowe, Asif Mujtaba, VVS Laxman and Michael Bevan used to be the record. A couple of years back, who broke the record with nine hundreds? Ovshake (talk) 10:11, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As you might've guessed, he isn't English. Ovshake (talk) 18:09, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm at work so can't check this but Simon Katich's 2007/08 season was pretty useful and could well have contained 9 fc centuries. --Roisterer (talk) 01:18, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He had five that season. And the person in question isn't an Australian either. :) Ovshake (talk) 06:15, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vusi Sibanda for the Mid West Rhinos based in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe in 2009/10. And he still didn't top the averages ... -- Mattinbgn (talk) 06:59, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well done! It's all yours. Ovshake (talk) 09:09, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1336

[edit]

If this match was covered by Cricinfo, the following would have been the "Recent overs" analysis for the last over (apologies if the symbols are not quite right):

| 1lb W  · 1b 1 2W W | (i.e. 1 leg bye, wicket, dot ball, 1 bye, 1 run, 2 runs and a wicket, wicket). Mattinbgn (talk) 09:44, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Last over of the first Tied Test in 1960-61? Johnlp (talk) 09:55, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A touch too easy I see ... Well done, it is indeed the first Test of the 1960-61 West Indies tour of Australia at the Gabba. I am watching the pre-game stuff for day 2 of Eng v India and they are talking up the 2005 Egbaston Test as the best ever (if only DRS was in place then ...) IMO, the first Tied Test is by far and away the most exciting Test ever played - for sheer twists and turns all match, right up to the last over. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 10:05, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. The Edgbaston test had been largely dominated by England. The sole twist came on the final day morning. I'd prefer India vs Australia Kolkata 2001 as well to Edgbaston, but the first tied test still rules. Ovshake (talk) 10:37, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that was a good match too. In the pre-internet days, I followed the 1986 Tied Test on hourly updates on ABC radio. We didn't even have ball-by-ball radio coverage for that series. Dean Jones was my cricket hero as a boy and I missed his greatest moment ... Over to you Johnlp! -- Mattinbgn (talk) 10:53, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Q1337

[edit]

Michael Atherton went for some intensive batsmanship coaching with Geoffrey Boycott alongside a host of other county and future Test players. All the batsmen were told to bring along a video of themselves batting, so the greatest living Yorkshireman could analyse their technique in front of the class. When one of the students put on his video, he found his tape had been over-recorded with an episode of "Neighbours" by his girlfriend. Who was the cricketer? I heard about this a matter of weeks ago from a fellow Hampshire member, I'm quite sure he said the boyfriend of the offending girlfriend was Nasser Hussain??? AssociateAffiliate (talk) 21:38, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's right. Well done. It's in Atherton's Opening Up autobiography. Over to you, AA. Johnlp (talk) 21:53, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Asking quiz questions never has been my forte, but here goes. At the time the over which went for 6,6,4,6,6,4, was the most expensive in first-class history. Who was the batsman doing the damage and who was the bowler on the receiving end? AssociateAffiliate (talk) 10:57, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyril Smart batting, with Gerry Hill bowling? [6] AllylViolinPudding (talk) 14:49, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This achievement has been recorded for different 22 people. There are three ways of getting this achievement. 'A' has been done by three people, most recently Michael Vaughan. 'B' has been performed by 18 people, most recently Makhaya Ntini. 'C' has only been achieved by two people, most recently Ian Botham (who is also one of the people on the 'B' list). What is this achievement, and thus what are 'A', 'B' and 'C' by which it may be done? AllylViolinPudding (talk) 16:54, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Getting the name twice on the Lord's Honours Board in the same test? A is twin tons, B is twin 5WIs, C is a ton and a 5WI in the same test? Ovshake (talk) 07:41, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Very good, Ovshake. That's exactly correct! AllylViolinPudding (talk) 08:48, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd give it to you: Basically a designated wicket-keeper bowling in every innings of a match. Ovshake (talk) 16:45, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone else with a question  ? Sumant81 (talk) 15:40, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
