Links to reliable sources[edit]

I'm not able to come to this event, but if you do find anything on the statue of Charlie Chaplin off Leicester Square, please do add it to Statue of Charlie Chaplin, London. Ham II (talk) 14:02, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Add an article"[edit]

The software would only let me add:

I also tried to add (without success):

The first three all appear in The Tramp, the last is another Chaplin regular. As for the other Tramp cast members, Lloyd Bacon and Bud Jamison have reasonable articles, but Leo White is mostly a huge filmography. Edwardx (talk) 16:29, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Essanay Studios[edit]

Essanay Studios, the company behind The Tramp, have a website:

Looks like a comprehensive list of actors, etc:

New articles started[edit]

These are all silent movie actors who appeared in The Tramp (film) or other Chaplin movies with Essanay Studios:

There may be others. Several articles were expanded and had links added, and work was done in sandboxes. Edwardx (talk) 11:53, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Metrics[edit]

I expect that the metrics are off because of experienced Wikipedians being included in the class roster and having their contributions outside this class being included. It says right now that 466 articles were edited with 560 edits total in the project. I expect this is from one Wikipedian doing one edit to lots of articles, probably outside this project. One fix for this is to disallow program organizers to sign onto the roster. In the longer term, I hear that Wiki Ed Foundation is developing some system to better note which pages are part of the assignment and which are edited outside the assignment. Supposedly this fix is coming before autumn. Overall I still like the look of the dashboard and think it provides more insight than would have been available otherwise. I also like the participant list being on the page with their own page editing selections near their name. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:45, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for those comments. I am still experimenting with this. Originally I just had one day and virtually no recorded activity. I expanded up to including 18 March at 10:51 18 march, and I immediately looked and there was no change. Just 4 hours later it's been updated, which is OK but not what I expected. I have altered it again to 7th-8th March as i know one of our volunteers reviewed the articles next day, but was generally otherwise involved.Fabian Tompsett (WMUK) (talk) 15:05, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
