May I bring my child?[edit]

I'd like to meet up with some Wikipedians as well, but it is not easy to get out of the house because of the kiddie. May I bring her? Imaginativeone (talk) 12:21, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Skewers photo[edit]

I'll shoot a photo of Skewers/Luna on the way into work tomorrow. I work right across the street. SchuminWeb (Talk) 02:56, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That would be very helpful. Thanks. --Aude (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And it is done. SchuminWeb (Talk) 16:55, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agenda?[edit]

Can someone clue me in as to what to expect at these meetings? The most information I can find is Wikipedia:Meetup#Procedure, however that information is mostly logistical. What are these meetings for? Just for Wikipedians to socialize, or is there some sort of directed aim? Thanks. — Epastore (talk) 15:21, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. At the second meetup we pretty much socialized about Wikipedia and related things for a while, though we did talk about things other than Wikipedia as well. Okay, so basically we get together and talk about anything. :P --Coredesat 22:53, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Going to this meetup might be considered by more people (who've never been to one before) if there were something on the main page giving at least some indication of what to expect. -DoctorW 20:02, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Meetups are informal... an opportunity to put faces to usernames, get to know people, socialize, and have fun. Somehow, I think it helps cut through some of the wikidrama. If one knows the person behind the username, I think maybe people wouldn't do and say some of the things that cause drama around here. We can talk about Wikipedia, or whatever. --Aude (talk) 20:42, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who brought the barnstars?[edit]

We'd love to have some of those real barnstars to give out as prizes to winning students at our Wikipedia Takes Manhattan March 28. Thanks.--Pharos (talk) 05:20, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm kind of curious, too, as to where those came from... SchuminWeb (Talk) 06:04, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that there is a DC Meetup planned for May 17th at 5:00 p.m., though a place has not yet been set. You're receiving this notice because you posted to the page for the prior meetup - Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 3 - but haven't indicated whether or not you're interested in attending this one. (Apologies if in fact you have.) BetacommandBot (talk) 01:10, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
