Yeah! That sounds like a good one. Do you want to edit the article list on the main page and claim it as ours then? I quick skimmed some articles about dicers and I guess we can go into the background and then expand upon different research done with it and the scientific implications. I see papers on roundworm, mice, and flies (drosophila) so we can do something like that as a first train of thought possibly? What do you think? I can't find any edit buttons on the main course page. Are you able to edit it? I'm wondering if Dr. Ogg needs to edit it for us. Or maybe I'm just experiencing "user error" :) I like your ideas. I was initially interested it because the knockout of the dicer gene is embryonically lethal. It's also necessary for stem cell viability. Those are just my initial interests without having read more than abstracts. I think we should dig through all the NCBI databases and link to generic information like chromosome position and maybe any microarray or sequencing data. Cool! Yeah we'll dig more through the stuff after I finish the homework due today... I can't find the edit button either. Key Points in Article Discussion[edit]

I've been looking for some pictures but I'm having trouble finding any that are commercially available. I used the search engine provided in our course outline and nothing really shows up. What do you think we should do? I have a couple good pictures that were from scientific articles, but I don't think they necessarily completely qualify with the wiki guidelines? Yeah I assume anything we can search for online and read is considered a free article. I've got a few pictures also that would be useful related to the crystal structure binding to DNA and one related with RNAi therapy. Martinhyou (talk) 05:59, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great! I added some more articles to the sandbox. We have 12 listed there now with notes on 6 of them. I also posted on the Dicer talk page. Since there hasn't been any action there since 2006 I doubt we'll get a response but who knows. We can chat tonight to make sure we've covered everything for this weeks assignment. I'm not sure how you cited your sources on your sandbox, but they're not showing up at the bottom? Also, I did some editing to the outline so we included those articles in the appropriate locations (just for "cleanliness"). I'm not sure how to change your cited sources. Sorry about that. I was using a very old Dell XPS with Vista (yuck) and it refused to cooperate with Wikipedia so I couldn't use any of the templates from the "cite" drop down. Instead of not citing I used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Cite_pmid instead. Apparently it didn't work :( I have my Macbook Pro back now so I'll fix it.
