Franconia-Springfield
There already exists a Franconia-Springfield (Washington Metro) page, a Springfield, Virginia page, and a Franconia, Virginia page. Does there exist such a place or entity as Franconia-Springfield, Virginia? (unsigned by Dpr (talk · contributions) - Alphax τεχ 05:27, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC))
Tricategory
Duh! Its anything thqat fits three categories. --Aeryka 19:29, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Template
Can someone clever create a template to put in the edit comments, so when a new page is created, we can say something like "Article created as per Wikipedia:Articles requested for more than a year - you can help!" easily? Like the stub-sorting one. Proto t c 11:34, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
- You've pretty much created it yourself. It should be something like: Long-standing article request fulfilled. [[Wikipedia:Articles requested for more than a year|You can help!]]
- As far as I can tell, it's not an actual template (I don't think these can be used in edit summaries), it's just something that people cut and paste themselves. KeithD (talk) 14:29, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
Ben Taylor (baseball player)
Which page links to Ben Taylor (baseball player)? There are 2 Ben Taylor's who played major league baseball, neither of which had a great career.
- See Special:Whatlinkshere/Ben_Taylor_(baseball_player). He seems to be listed on List of Negro League baseball players, so that might give a clue as to which one is wanted. It might be best to turn Ben Taylor (baseball player) into a disambiguation page that links to a separate article on each player. --SimonP 02:29, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
Charles Phelps Taft
There are also two of these, an uncle and nephew pair it appears. The first was more noteworthy as the owner of the Chicago Cubs and also a Congressman. The second was mayor of Cincinnati for a time. Political Graveyard page on Taft family --T. Anthony 11:45, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
- In this case I would probably put the congressman at Charles Phelps Taft, and add a disambiguation bar at the top pointing to the article on his nephew. Also my compliments on the great work you have been doing filling these aged requests. - SimonP 13:58, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you. I just happen to go to a site called "political graveyard" before I ever wrote things for here. I'm not "lifting" anything from there, well I hope not and not intentionally if so, but it's a good starter point to know what to look for on American politicians. With the African ones I did it's because I took a year of African history with a guy very enthusiastic on the topic. His ex-wife is from the Cote D'Ivoire and he spent this Summer in West Africa. I hadn't actually heard of the names I added before, but I had an interest to find out thanks to him. --T. Anthony 23:35, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
Another duo, it's true-O
From the graveyard.
Charles Mann Hamilton (1874-1942) — also known as Charles M. Hamilton — of Ripley, Chautauqua County, N.Y. Born in Ripley, Chautauqua County, N.Y., January 23, 1874. Republican. Delegate to Republican National Convention from New York, 1900 (alternate), 1916; member of New York state assembly from Chautauqua County 2nd District, 1907-08; member of New York state senate 51st District, 1909-12; U.S. Representative from New York 43rd District, 1913-19. Died in Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, Fla., January 3, 1942. Interment at Quincy Rural Cemetery, Ripley, N.Y.
Hamilton, Charles Memorial (1840-1875) — of Florida. Born in Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, Pa., November 1, 1840. Republican. U.S. Representative from Florida, 1868-71 (at-large 1868-69, 6th District 1869-71). Died in Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, Pa., October 22, 1875. Interment at Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Pa. See also: congressional biography.
I'm guessing Mann is meant, correct?--T. Anthony 16:00, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
Speaking of Mann I think James R. Mann is James Robert Mann. The only James R. Mann's I find at Political Graveyard are called "James Robert Mann." Although it lists a second James Robert Mann born in 1920 as well. There's also a "James Mann" with no middle initial listed.--T. Anthony 10:27, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
- And in yet another duo John J. Rhodes apparently has to be John Jacob Rhodes, but which one?--T. Anthony 10:30, 19 September 2005 (UTC) Nevermind, I see John Jacob Rhodes I & III are both listed already. I'll take him off then.--T. Anthony 10:31, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
Farida
I wonder if the one deal means "Farida Karodia" instead of "Farida Korodia." I put "Farida Karodia" in a search engine and got a South African writer. "Korodia" just got references relating to this page.--T. Anthony 04:27, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thought I'd reiterate a thanks to Proto here for work done on the authors section here.--T. Anthony 16:13, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
Sarah Marbeck
Only woman I'm finding with this name is an model from Melbourne who claimed to have an affair with David Beckham. Anyone else find anything?--T. Anthony 14:38, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
- I can but agree - The London Sun newspaper called her a high class "lady of the night." I don't think she's suitable as a Wiki article - Rgds, Trident13 14:20, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
bot
Is the bot smart enough not to remove requests that have only been turned into redirects, not articles? Such as Weil representation.
Youssouf
I think this entry should be erased. I did a Google search and I found that there is lots of articles about different Youssouf. It is just part of a name. I wonder who or what they are refering to. What do the rest think? --Gadster 04:31, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- Perhaps it should be turned into a disambiguation page that lists some of the people and things that are known as Youssouf. - SimonP 04:43, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
Venus Wars
I created a stub for this movie. Some expansion would be nice. Once less out of a bunch to go. --Gadster 05:43, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
Commonwealth writers
Shouldn't Commonwealth writers be a category maybe? I think it would fit better. What do other people think? --Gadig 07:19, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- I wonder rather why it should even exist- why group Canadian, British, Australian and New Zealander writers into one list/article/category. Although if a category has to exist, it should definitely be a supercategory for the Canadian, British, Australian and New Zealander writer categories. --maru (talk) Contribs 21:14, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think it is supposed to refer to Commonwealth men, although I'm not sure it should be made a redirect as there are other groups which the title could equally refer to: writers of the Commonwealth of England, the Commonwealth of Nations etc. MeltBanana 03:02, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- Should we take it out then? Anybody? Gadig 05:12, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- I did it. Eek being bold is scary. MeltBanana 13:54, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Ars Mathematica
What does this request refer to? The fairly popular blog? The organization for promoting interexchange betwee the humanities and science/mathematics? Any number of books with this title, or which could be translated or a few medieval treatises on math sometimes called this? --maru (talk) Contribs 21:57, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
MentorshipART (of Peace)
- In Thinklets, MentorshipART is pointed to Social network. Is it the same? Should we redirect? Gadig 05:17, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
MentorshipART blends social network analysis with anticipatory thinking futures techniques

Vague
- "Global arts movement"
- "Simultaneous contrast(s)"
Are these valid requests? Seems awfully vague to me. --maru (talk) Contribs 00:13, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Oplan1000
Had over 3000 links, none from an actual article. Only came up in lists of requested articles. Think it's just a glitch and a ton of Bots copy it over and over. We don't need this article. Avraham 14:07, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Capitalize and add the space "OPLAN 1000" - it's a WWIII contingency plan. GRuban 21:05, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Progress
Excellent progress is being made on this list. On April 1, 2006, there were 306 articles listed. Last night, there were only 211. At this rate, we will be caught up with year-old requests in about 2 months. Hurray, and thanks to everyone helping to create articles! -- Beland 22:14, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, before you celebrate too much, I deleted some articles and created a couple. I suspect most items on this list will never be created, as they don't deserve thier own articles. What do you think? -- Tompsci 23:06, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree, especially when looking at the categories in music. Which would mean that we could finish in less than two months, even with the addition of a few articles. By the way, there are less than 200 left!
- I've been going through them haphazardly, out of every 10, I make 1 stub, most aren't valid article requests. -- Tompsci 00:45, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I just wrote an article on Haywood-Wakefield Band which brings the count down to exactly 140. Perhaps, we should start thinking of getting rid of the articles requested for more than two years section.D'Iberville 04:32, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I certainly agree that disposing of invalid requests is very useful work, helping to prevent worthy requests from festering in a giant backlog. -- Beland 15:20, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- It is important to make sure that if you do remove an invalid request, that you also remove it from the main requested article page. Because of the way I update this page, if it is not removed from the main page it will simply be relisted here. Also be careful about removing requests. Very obscure subjects have sometimes turned into surprisingly good articles. - SimonP 15:38, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Requests in blue
Is it okay to remove any entries that are not red?
- Yes. :)--chris.lawson 03:01, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
"Let the sun creep on you"
Briefly: what the hell is this supposed to be?? Any clues? Is this something puerile like "wiped it on you"? Ascerbically yours, --Mashford 01:30, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- OK. If nobody speaks up for this by the end of the month, I'm cutting it. --Mashford 00:02, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- It gets no Google hits other than Wikipedia and its mirriors, so I'm pretty confident it can be remvoed from the request pages. - SimonP 02:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Screw it. Removed. --Mashford 14:13, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Measurement of quantum entanglement
I had that redirected to quantum measurement -- same thing, really. Coontie 19:06, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Proof by symmetry
I'm not sure what that refers to or what that means. Is that a valid request even? Coontie 20:03, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's a valid way of proving a theorem. Do a search on "Proof by symmetry". We have articles on proof by induction, etc - ths would just be another. Nloth 23:20, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Notability
Many of the people left are (arguably) not notable. For instance, I looked for infomation on Josh Altesman (who is linked from the "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender" of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Social_Sciences_and_Philosophy). There is a Josh Altesman who was one of 10 authors of "A Survey of New Yorkers After the Sept. 11, 2001, Terrorist Attacks" (http://www.ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/abstract/160/4/780), but that is the only reference to him in scholar.google.com, books.google.com or Amazon's book search. Given that this person isn't referenced in any Wikipedia article (just an article request) either, just how notable are they? (I'm sure this applies to other people, too) Nloth 03:18, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- If they're not notable, they may be removed with an explanation of their non-notability. :) --chris.lawson 02:48, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll start working on that basis. Nloth 23:58, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Kingdom of England & Wales
Is there practically any use for a particular article on this subject? Living in Wales with a Scot's heritage, I hope I have a pretty good perspective on this one - but I really can't see the need when we have so many other articles on: Kings, Queens, Border and Civil wars, the various British Isles and Parliament?
