List of articles
[edit]The blitz page mentions putting a {{y}} tag somewhere but I couldn't see where. Help! Lfstevens (talk) 16:24, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- I have now added a list of articles to the drive page, so this step should now be clear. -- Dianna (talk) 01:11, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, I'd planned on skipping that part this time since I was able to create a direct link to the catscan page. I wanted to avoid adding more steps beyond just finding and editing articles. But the list could be useful and faster than having to redo the scan over and over. —Tourchiest talkedits 04:53, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
I was copy editing Buda Castle, but when I saved it, there had been an edit conflict. I don't think that the editor who edited it is in the Blitz, but what should I do word count wise?
Thanks, Matty.007 16:21, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Edit conflicts are a pain in the neck, but can be relatively easy to fix; they used to really fluster me till I learned what to do. When you get the EC message, there are two edit windows: yours (the bottom one) and the one that was saved before you, and you can copy-paste your edits from the bottom window to the top and save. This is difficult (or impossible) if you've made a lot of small edits—as you do when you're copyediting—so it's wise to edit in as small a "bite" as possible (by section, rather than the whole article at once) to avoid them. As for the word count, you should've gotten that before starting the copyedit; do you have the page-size Javascript installed? All the best, Miniapolis 14:49, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- If you forget to get the word count before you start, which I do all the time, click on View History, then click on the date/time link for the version before you started editing. Then use the Page Size tool to get a word count. Jonesey95 (talk) 20:45, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- Matty asked me about this on my talk page and we worked it out. Thanks for the replies though. This info should probably be added to the drive and blitz pages, since it comes up somewhat regularly. —Torchiest talkedits 21:02, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
