Extend nomination period?

[edit]

We have four positions open, and four candidates. Although two are running for lead, I think we should have at least one more candidate run for coordinator. So I think we should extend the nomination period a day or two, and look for someone who'd be willing to run. What does everyone else think? The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 03:12, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think last election we had few candidates too. We ended up with four candidates when Dank withdrew. I would be ok with moving forward with the candidates that came forward. --Dianna (talk) 03:23, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think you've got 4 candidates here who are going to be responsible and diligent. Do you guys have a minimum number of supports needed for promotion? - Dank (push to talk) 03:27, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No we don't, but we do have two people running for lead coordinator. The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 04:00, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So we are actually better off than last time, when there was only one interested in the lead position. --Dianna (talk) 05:18, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have anyone you'd like to nominate, Utahraptor? If you do, I can't see any harm in allowing it. --Stfg (talk) 09:48, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
After you, no. So we should go ahead and open the voting? The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 14:01, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have no preference ... but if you guys do decide to open up the nominations, I'll run (for assistant coord). Not sure if I'll get any votes ... my work has been at FAC and the GOCE/FA subpage, which isn't the main focus of the GOCE ... but, your call. - Dank (push to talk) 18:05, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am in favour of this. Having one more candidate would be great, and you will get at least one vote (me)  :) --Dianna (talk) 19:05, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You'd have my support as well. Go ahead and get your name up there, and we'll open the voting and close the nominations. The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 22:10, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, voting is now open. Should we notify the rest of the Guild that voting is open? The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 23:16, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That would be perfect. I will let the Signpost know, and they can put a sidebar in their next edition. --Dianna (talk) 01:25, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not running

[edit]

Hi all

Sorry to say I will not be running this time. I have had a few RL issues, including concerns over my accommodation, that have caused me to have virtually no free time available. As a result I feel I have let the side down over the last two months, and would not be able to commit any free time until the end of January, or even February if I have to move.

I wish you all well with the elections and a "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" to all :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 20:40, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't let us down, we understand. Remember how we had to co-opt you after I had to switch my focus to RL? You have my sympathies. :) Good luck with all future endeavors, and Happy Holidays! Regards, The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 21:02, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Chaosdruid, far from letting anyone down, you worked hard here while your situation allowed it. RL issues like those have to take priority. Maybe again another time? --Stfg (talk) 14:14, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Chaosdruid! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on your situation. Don't worry about the Guild, all will be well. Have a great holiday season. Best wishes, --Dianna (talk) 19:24, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
