This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. St. Louis articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the St. Louis articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

A consideration for cross project consolidation of talk page templates

I have started a conversation here about the possibility of combining some of the United States related WikiProject Banners into {{WikiProject United States}}. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please take a moment and let me know. --Kumioko (talk) 20:24, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Short notice, I know, but if you are in town and interested in coming tomorrow evening, you're more than welcome.--Chaser (talk) 21:51, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

US Collaboration reactivated & Portal:United States starting next

Casliber recently posted a suggestion on the talk page for WikiProject United States about getting the US Wikipedians Collaboration page going again in an effort to build up articles for GA through FA class. See Wikipedia:U.S. Wikipedians' notice board/USCOTM. After several days of work from him the page is up and ready for action. A few candidates have already been added for you to vote on or you can submit one using the directions provided. If you are looking for inspiration here is a link to the most commonly viewed articles currently under the scope of Wikiproject United States. There are tons of good articles in the various US related projects as well so feel free to submit any article relating to US topics (not just those under the scope of WPUS). This noticeboard is intended for ‘’’All’’’ editors working on US subjects, not just those under WPUS.

The next item I intend to start updating is Portal:United States if anyone is interested in helping. Again this is not specific to WPUS and any help would be greatly appreciated to maximize visibility of US topics. The foundation has already been established its just a matter of updating the content with some new images, biographies and articles. Please let leave a comment on the Portals talk page or let me know if you have any questions or ideas. --Kumioko (talk) 19:28, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Central Corridor, North St. Louis and South St. Louis

St. Louis Post-Dispatch and St. Louis Globe-Democrat

Hi. I need some old articles from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Globe-Democrat for Gateway Arch. Does the St. Louis Public Library offer access to local newspaper archives from the '60s and '80s? What newspapers are included in the library's subscription to NewsBank? Below are a few articles that I need:

  • Corrigan, Patricia. "The Triumph of the Arch: 1965-1986." St. Louis Post-Dispatch 27 Oct. 1985: 12F.
  • Dunlap, Robert. "Riverfront Arch Designed to Catch the Eye of the World." St. Louis Post-Dispatch 19 Jan. 1958: 12.
  • Hannon, Robert E. "Keeping Up with the Skyline." St. Louis Post-Dispatch 14 Jan. 1969.
  • McCue, George. "The Emerging St. Louis Symbol." St. Louis Post-Dispatch 10 June 1962: 13G.
  • McCue, George. "The Emerging Saint Louis Symbol." St. Louis Post-Dispatch 10 June 1964: 8.

Proposed revisions to Peabody Energy article

Hi, I proposed some revisions to the Peabody Energy article's Black Mesa controversy section on that article’s talk page, but as I have a WP:COI with this article I was hoping to get some feedback before moving forward with the revisions. If anyone has time to take a look, I would really appreciate it. JamesClyde (talk) 15:02, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Metro St. Louis

There is a discussion about a redirect, Template:Metro St Louis, at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2013 May 15#Template:Metro St Louis. As part of that I have identified a probable need for disambiguation, but it would really benefit from editors with local knowledge and/or knowledge of articles about the Greater St. Louis area. Your comments are therefore invited at the linked discussion. Thanks, Thryduulf (talk) 10:36, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Upcoming DYK

FYI, the Robert A. Brooks article is in the DYK pipeline, in case anyone would like to help with expansion. --Elonka 02:51, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride!

  • What? Wiki Loves Pride, a campaign to document and photograph LGBT culture and history, including pride events
  • When? June 2015
  • How can you help?
1.) Create or improve LGBT-related articles and showcase the results of your work here
2.) Upload photographs or other media related to LGBT culture and history, including pride events, and add images to relevant Wikipedia articles; feel free to create a subpage with a gallery of your images (see examples from last year)
3.) Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Or, view or update the current list of Tasks. This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. Visit the group's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome!

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's main talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing!

Requesting help updating company info

Hello, My name is Madison (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MadisonfromStanding) I have submitted an edit to the page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Maritz,_LLC) and was wondering if someone wouldn't mind reviewing and incorporating the proposed changes to improve the page. The changes are very simple: fixing key facts and figures in the infobox, including the CEO and number of employees, and some uncontroversial phrasing changes to the introduction text. I'm following Wikipedia's guidelines by requesting this here (due to a COI) and also because this group is focused on St. Louis. Please let me know if you have any questions about the proposed revisions.

MadisonfromStanding (talk) 21:22, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

I am back with a request to update the Maritz, LLC article's infobox with this request. Is there a project member who is willing to look over this and make the changes as appropriate on my behalf? Thanks. MadisonfromStanding (talk) 18:59, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
