"Medium dry Amontillado"[edit]

I have a bottle of "Medium dry Amontillado" -- this should probably be described in the article. Is it sweetened, the way "medium sherry" is, only less so? Badagnani (talk) 23:44, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In popular culture[edit]

In this section, the last statement about the TV show Frasier is poorly worded. As I don't have much experience with this show, I wouldn't know how to correct it. The phrase "his brother and he" is vague, as these pronouns demonstrate no antecedent. Also, the phrase "almost always" seems poorly worded (potentially weasel words?). Poe[edit]

Poe did not claim Amontillado is not sherry, his character Fortunato said that. Possibly Poe was indicating that Fortunato is not as much of a wine connoisseur as he believes himself to be. Mnudelman (talk) 18:46, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation wrong?[edit]

Wikipedia article states Spanish pronunciation is "[amontiˈʎaðo]", and pronunciation key lists [ʎ] as in English "million", and [ð] as in English "this", which be equate to a pronunciation as "amontillatho". However , many other online sources state the correct Spanish pronunciation is actually "amontiyado". What is a polished note?[edit]

An IP editor, 2A02:1810:1E17:0:2561:6519:2A4D:A99B, with no talk page (and who therefore cannot be questioned) added self-described "aromatic characteristics" to the article on 18 March 2017, saying "Amontillado is characterized by nutty aromas, tobacco, aromatic herbs and often ethereal, polished notes of oak."
