Refs change / Jordan pic[edit]

I made all of the ACC Men's Basketball Media Guide references into one "general" reference. If this is attempting to become a FL, then each and every single player needs to have reliable, third party sources citing their award. But, since the media guide is considered reliable and since it lists all the winners, it needs to be kept as a general reference.

Also, the picture of Michael Jordan should not be in the infobox. The reserved picture spot is for either the logo of the award (which I have not found) or a picture of the actual trophy/award itself (which I'm not sure even exists, let alone having found one online). So we don't need page cites to the specific pages in the chart that support the information on the specific player? I would think we would in order to get this to be FL. I am happy either way; I just want to do it the right way. Remember (talk) 18:52, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I added page 139 to the general reference since it lists every single player (minus Ty Lawson because the media guide is one year old). Every player's class year when they won the award is also listed. The reason we can only use this is a general reference instead of the reference is because it would violate WP:ONESOURCE. Also, it's not a "third party" publication, which we need to make it avoid WP:BOOSTERISM. As tedious, boring and painstaking as it is, individual references need to be included for each player. Since you'll probably end up finding all of them online, the best reference template to use is {{citeweb}}. If I learned anything from my first FL candidate it's that references are one of the things reviewers hark on the most. Jrcla2 talk 20:16, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, at least your previous experience has taught you to be thorough. Thanks for the revision! I will do a little work trying to find sources for each of the players. Remember (talk) 20:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good source[edit]

I just came across this source from google books [1]. Looks like this could be useful. Remember (talk) 21:19, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I put it in the lead and then had several subsequent players use this ref, good find. Also, when you use cite web, the publisher only gets italicized when the publisher is the name of a newspaper, magazine or other print media (just letting you know). Jrcla2 talk 21:46, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
