What's so different about this item from the baozi that warrants its own article? DHN 01:11, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bánh bao vs. baozi[edit]

They are the same thing. Base on the information right on their Wikipedia pages, "bánh bao" is merely a variation of an old "baozi" recipe that got to Vietnam from China. Maybe "bánh bao" should just be a section in a bigger article about "baozi"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Incon 1996 (talk • contribs) 07:45, 22 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, the recipe has since evolved in Vietnam different from the Chinese version. Pannekoeken and Crêpes are different for the same reason despite being really similar. --Donald Trung (talk) 09:38, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Basically every item in the Category:Steamed buns can be considered and referred to as bāozi in Chinese, but we non-Chinese speakers tend to call only the Chinese varieties bāozi. --Comedora (talk) 11:56, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
