I think someone should comment that just because bacon grease has lots of saturated fats, it is not bad for you. Question: does bacon grease have trans-fats?

No, it doesn't contain any trans-fats. Bacon grease and lard are a hell of a lot healthier (and tastier) than Crisco, soybean oil, or any other hydrogenated poison. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.95.233.49 (talk) 07:19, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No nutritional value aside from the lipids?[edit]

Fat IS nutrition. It's pure food energy, as is sugar. If something doesn't have either carbohydrate or fat you're not going to get any food energy out of it, so I guess 'nutrition' must have a different meaning than I'm used to? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 00:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fuzzy math[edit]

This article says 4g of bacon grease has 38 calories, but even if it's pure fat, the numbers must be off, since pure fat has 9 calories per gram, and . (Shouldn't we find a better source—one that doesn't have obviously incorrect numbers?) What gives? dcandeto (talk) 19:20, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
