I see Gobonobo reverted the delete notice with the comment that this appears notable. Did anyone actually really look into the links?

The first two links are both dead. Please indicate here if you are seeing something I am not.
The third link goes to a Google book page but if you investigate it further, the book doesnt actually exist in any library nor in any bookseller. Further, the citation in the book related to * Edible Book Day is a reference to THE SECOND REFERENCE above, which DOES NOT EXIST!
The fourth reference appears to be a completely different event and I don't think I am lacking objectivity when I write that this citation is insignificant.
The fifth link is just the home page of a magazine having nothing to do with the subject.
The sixth link - ok, maybe this has some credibility but barely. It reads more like a public service announcement.
The seventh is a blog and I have questions about its legitimacy[1]
The eight is a self promotion for the company that seems to sponsor this event and likely gets financial benefit from it.
The ninth reference is actually talking about the general concept of an edible book contest, it is not a reference to this specific event.
The 10th reference is dead. Please indicate here if you are seeing something I am not.
The 11th reference, similar to the ninth, is about generic edible book events.
The final link / reference is a complete non sequitor.

@Timwiki99: This year there are edible book festivals at the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin, while the one at Duke University is on hiatus. So this is clearly a real thing. On April 1st the main page often features articles that seem to be made up but aren't. I don't disagree that the referencing needs some help here though. My sense is that even if we removed all the bad references and blogs, we would still be able to find adequate reliable sources to warrant an article so I removed the prod. gobonobo ⁺ ^c 14:13, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

er, um.... ok. But did you really review the citations? It may be more appropriate to rename the page "Edible Book Days" or "Edible Book Celebrations" and adjust the entry to be more generic. @Timwiki99: Prod refers to the template you used to propose that the article be deleted — Template:Proposed deletion. I did take a look at most of references. It looks like different events use different names for the event, so it may be worthwhile to consider renaming. If you see the books2eat.com site, which is a sort of umbrella organization for the events, they use International Edible Book Festival. Otherwise, if we're referring to edible book festivals in general, it might be best to use a lowercase title. gobonobo ⁺ ^c 02:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
